Question 1

Are these keycaps compatible with my mechanical keyboard?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps are designed to fit 61/68/84/87/96/108-key keyboards that use Cherry MX switches. Make sure your keyboard has the correct number of keys and switch type before purchasing, as compatibility is crucial for a proper fit.

Question 2

What layout do these keycaps have?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps feature a UK layout, which includes specific keys like AltGr and Shift-Enter functionality, making them ideal for users in the United Kingdom or those who prefer this layout. If you're not familiar with the UK layout, it might differ from your current keyboard's layout.

Question 3

Are these keycaps made of PBT material?

Accepted Answer

Yes, these keycaps are made of PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) plastic, which is known for its durability and resistance to wear. This makes them a good choice if you want long-lasting keycaps that can withstand frequent use.

Question 4

What profile do the keycaps have?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps come with an OEM profile, meaning they are designed similarly to original equipment manufacturer keys. The OEM profile is generally considered comfortable and fits well with most mechanical keyboards. However, some users might prefer a different profile for personal comfort or aesthetic reasons.

Question 5

What comes in the box with this keycap set?

Accepted Answer

The keycap set includes all 148 necessary keycaps to fully replace your current keyboard's keys, ensuring a complete and seamless replacement. Each key is individually packaged to prevent damage during shipping.

Question 6

How do I care for these keycaps after installation?

Accepted Answer

To maintain the quality of your new keycaps, avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals. Regular cleaning with a soft cloth can help remove dust and fingerprints without damaging the PBT material. If needed, you can use mild soap and water but ensure they are completely dry before reassembling your keyboard.

Question 7

Can I customize these keycaps?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps are custom-made for specific keyboard layouts and switch types, so customization options like changing colors or text etching are not available. However, if you need a different layout or profile, consider looking at other keycap sets that offer more flexibility in design.

Question 8

How do these keycaps fit into my overall gaming setup?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps can enhance your keyboard's appearance and potentially improve typing comfort and efficiency, which could be beneficial for both casual use and intense gaming sessions. However, the impact on performance will depend on your specific needs and preferences.

Question 9

Are there any limitations to using these keycaps with Cherry MX switches?

Accepted Answer

While these keycaps are specifically designed for keyboards with Cherry MX switches, they should work fine as long as the keyboard is compatible in terms of layout and number of keys. Always double-check the compatibility before making a purchase to avoid any issues.

Question 10

How do I install these keycaps on my keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Installing keycaps typically involves carefully lifting each key from your keyboard, removing the old keycap, and then placing the new one in its corresponding position. It's important to handle them gently to prevent damage or breakage. If you're unsure about the process, many online tutorials can provide step-by-step guidance.
