Explore endless roadways filled with zombie hordes in ZEROAD, a fast-paced roguelite shooter where your character grows stronger with each playthrough. Customize weapons and level up as you push further in solo or co-op mode.
About this game
A mix of intense shooter, roguelite, and RPG. Strength is forged on asphalt, and experience is the only resource you can't lose. Clear roads, kill zombies, earn XP, and level up your survivor, who grows stronger with every run. Find weapons, increase their rarity, and modify them with random affixes to craft a devastating combo for your next push.
Choose Your Road
After each road, you choose the next one, one of three. You decide what lies ahead. What matters more: testing your luck in search of a new weapon, upgrading your current one, or pushing forward fast? And with 40 types of zombies, each with unique traits and behaviors, there's no room to relax.
Find and Upgrade Weapons
Discover new weapons in cabinets at the end of certain roads. Each cabinet offers three firearms to choose from, a familiar way to refresh your loadout. A weapon's rarity determines its stats and the number of affix slots. Affixes are random modifiers that directly boost the weapon or enhance your character's attributes. Higher-level roads offer more powerful guns, with higher rarity and stronger affixes. In total, you can find over 60 firearms and 30 different affixes on the road, making every combination unique and memorable.
Lose Your Gear, Keep Your Experience
Death on the road strips you of all resources and equipment, but leaves all accumulated experience intact. Every surge of adrenaline and every slain zombie turns into XP that stays with your survivor forever. Invest it in your character's stats, these can never be taken away. Each new run starts with a weak weapon, but a stronger, more experienced roader.
Solo and Co-op Runs
Face the road alone, where the price of a mistake is ultimate. Or bring a partner, two-player co-op offers a chance for salvation. Coordinate your actions, watch each other's backs, and plan your route together. The road will test if you can act in unison under the relentless pressure of the horde.
The road is calling. See you on the asphalt.

ZEROAD ver1.1.1: A Softer Start & Adjustable Difficulty
Hello, roaders!Version 1.1.1 is a small but important one. The game is friendlier on the first roads, and if the zombies feel too tough, you no longer have to tough it out: enemy difficulty can now be tuned down.Enemy DifficultySlider in the character window: enemy health and damage can be lowered to 50% of their normal values, in 10% steps.Experience unaffected: the setting does not affect experience gain, so play the way that feels comfortable. The zombie wall is unchanged: the slider won't save you from it.In co-op, the host's setting is used.Easier Early GameMore checkpoints: now available on roads 1-5 and 7, and then on every fifth road, as before. A failed early run no longer throws you back to the very beginning.Better weapons on the first roads: roads 1-5 now have a higher chance to roll uncommon weapons.FixesFixed the checkpoint selection window not closing when clicking the Esc button with the mouse.Take it easy. See you on the asphalt.Read full article on Community Announcements (drillmindgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
ZEROAD ver1.1.0: Thanks & Sharp Turns
Hello, roaders!First of all, thank you. Thank you to everyone who plays ZEROAD and took the time to write a review. Your support means a lot to me, and my gratitude has taken a tangible form: unique weapons dedicated to you, the players. That's where version 1.1.0 begins, but the road itself has also learned a few new twists.Unique WeaponsNew Rarity: gun cabinets can now offer unique weapons, a new rarity above ultra-rare. When a weapon that has a unique variant is rolled, there is a 25% chance you get the unique version.27 Weapons With a Story: every unique weapon is dedicated to a real player review, from pistols to machine guns. Its tooltip shows the original review and a word from me.Locked Affixes: unique weapons come with a hand-picked set of six affixes, all locked. What you see is what you get, and no reroll can take it away.Locked AffixesAny affix now has a 15% chance to be locked: when it appears on a weapon, when you gain an affix on the road, and when you reroll an affix at the workbench. Locked affixes are marked with a lock icon and cannot be replaced by reroll.Rolled a dream affix? There is a chance it is already yours to keep.Affix SynergiesTen Themed Groups: when your weapon has affixes from a themed group, you gain a synergy bonus: Quartermaster, Gunslinger, Road Runner, Crit Master, Field Medic, Guardian, Treasure Hunter, Scholar, Hawkeye and Executioner. For example, Crit Master activates when your weapon has both Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage affixes, and grants +3% critical hit damage per each affix tier. Two tier-3 affixes already give a hefty +18%.Qualitative Pickups15% of pickups are now rare red qualitative ones: instead of boosting a stat, they bend the rules of the game:Rhythm: your weapon does not consume ammo.Untouchable: the next incoming damage is ignored.New Life: lethal damage doesn't kill you, leaving you at 1 HP.Taunt: enemies prefer attacking you. Your teammate will love it.Thorns: received melee damage is reflected ...Read full article on Community Announcements (drillmindgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
ZEROAD ver1.0.1: Checkpoints & Cycles
Hello, roaders!Version 1.0.1 introduces fundamental changes to how you progress through the road. I've reworked the entire progression system to be more rewarding and less punishing.CheckpointsNew Checkpoint System: Every fifth road (5, 10, 15, and so on up to 45) now acts as a checkpoint. When starting a new run, you can choose to begin from any checkpoint you've unlocked. No more grinding through the early roads every single time. Your progress now respects your time.Cyclic Road LevelsThe road now works in cycles. After completing road 15, you begin a new cycle starting at road 1+, then 15+, then 1++, and so on.Each cycle increases difficulty while reusing the same 15 road templates. This keeps content fresh and intense without endless linear scaling.Enemy parameters and overall difficulty have been completely rebalanced around this new cyclic structure.Stats & UI ImprovementsGreater Stat Impact: Character stats now have a stronger influence on effects. Stat distribution is more meaningful and satisfying.Min/Max Tooltips: Effects now show their minimum and maximum possible values in tooltips, so you know exactly how much to invest.Joypad Support: Added ABXY button controls for Steam Deck and controller players. You can now switch button hint display in the options.Zombie Wall on Progress Bar: The pursuing horde is now visible on the mission progress bar, adding pressure and letting you plan your moves.Gun Cabinet Reroll Text: The gun cabinet now shows remaining rerolls, even after you've picked up a weapon.Save After Selection: Your character is now saved immediately after choosing a weapon from a gun cabinet, so you can quit without losing your choice.FixesFixed gas can explosion damage delay: damage now applies in a single frame at the moment of explosion, making it predictable.Attempted fix for ambush end synchronization rare random issues reported by some players.Fixed effect recalculation when bonuses expire.Fixed cursor reacting to ambush arrows at screen edg...Read full article on Community Announcements (drillmindgames)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hello, roaders! The day has arrived. After months of updates, feedback, and countless roads traveled, ZEROAD is officially out with version 1.0.0. This update focuses on balance, fairness, and polish, everything I've learned from you, packed into the definitive road experience.Gun Cabinet & Loot RefinementsWeapon Rarity Scaling: From Road 15 onward, common (white) rarity weapons no longer appear in gun cabinets. The chances of finding rare (blue) and ultra-rare (gold) weapons now increase steadily with road level.Skill-Based Offers: Gun cabinets now offer weapons that match your shooting skill more often, helping you find powerful tools for your build.Resource Balance: With rare weapons appearing more frequently, resource drops from chests have been slightly reduced. Chest opening time for solo players has also been decreased. Surviving alone shouldn't mean missing out.Progression TuningShooting Skill Balance: Shooting skill gain for different weapon types has been rebalanced, smoothing out the progression curve for unlocking new firearms.More Reroll Dice: The base chance to find dice has increased, along with better scaling as you upgrade your Perception stat. More chances to reroll means more control over your run.Co-op & Other Quality of LifeEasier Revives: The time before revival progress starts to decay has been increased from 1.0 to 1.5 seconds, giving you a larger window to finish reviving your ally. Progress decay is now twice as slow. So, your partner has a better chance to get you back in the fight.Sound Fixes: The "misfire" sound is no longer played for other players, preventing their confusion. Resource and item drop sounds now play fully even if you pick up instantly. You'll always know when something valuable hits the ground.Gas Canister Visibility: The gas canister's outline now blinks through zombies, corpses, and players. No more dying because it was buried under a pile of bodies. This is the road you helped build! Thank you for walking it with me!The...Read full article on Community Announcements (drillmindgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
