About this game

BRING THE FIGHT TO THEM

They sent an army.  You brought spite and caffeine.

They’ve come for your games.  Your fun.  Your freedom.  Now they’re coming for you.

Hyper Vyper is a kinetic third-person roguelite shooter tracing the arc from Resistance to Revolution.  You and your people have had enough of The Authority pressing in on your lives.  Like, enough of this shit - right? Also: they’re coming for that ass so you don’t have much choice.  Go break their shit.

Don’t be intimidated!  Looking scary is like their whole thing.  Watch what happens when you get behind the wheel, forreal.

BUILD YOURSELF FROM (ALMOST) SCRATCH

You’re dropped into the world as the character of your choice - what you become from there is entirely up to you.

Everyone has some smooth movement - what’s the version that speaks to you?

What is the shape of your Resistance? Do you fight with your mind?  Your reflexes?  Your heart? Discover, choose, experiment.  Test assumptions, find new paths, honor old ways.  There’s more than meets the eye - dumbass ideas explicitly encouraged.

Tanker Durability, in it’s myriad forms. Take more hits, find ways to turn defense into offense.ThinkerWin through planning, strategy, and control. Gain power through stillness, gain tools that help you control an area and summon machine allies to your cause. You acquire keywords as you pick cards associated with them. Keyword points are only granted the first time you pick a specific card. Leveling up the same Mover card three times only grants on point in Mover for example. Keyword totals can be seen on the HUD. Keywords grant special powers when you pass 3 or 6 points in a given keyword. There are 14 keyword powers in all, here are a few: Shaker I Enemies explode on death (benefits from your explosive damage buffs) Thinker I Summon a flying drone ally to fight with you Striker II Melee damage benefits from your velocity and sends enemies flyingLevel Up PowersThere are 36 new level up powers: just enough to reach max tier in any given keyword (accounting for hybrids). Here are just a few: Mover- Dynamo - Gain a damage multiplier on Super Jump- The Floor Is Lava! - Infinitely stacking damage multiplier while you’re in the air- Pogo - Gain a burst of upward movement on enemy elim Shaker- SplodeyFoot - Your melee attacks explode- Burning Patch - Your explosives spawn a burning patch- Implode Grenade - Your explosives pull enemies in rather than pushing them out Blaster- Deade...

    v 0.19 Hotfixes

A few different changes have gone live for the demo since it released, these have all been apart of the same version. Capturing everything that's changed here, next patch will be a new major version with bigger changes. - Fixed several crashes, most of which were caused by world-transition- Fixed a bug causing level ups to be applied n times, with n being the number of runs within your play session. ie; on your 3rd run, level ups were applied 3 times.- Reduced higher tier enemy hp between 10-20% to accommodate for game difficulty with level x run buff removal :P- Fixed a bug causing games to persist past the 00:00 mark.- Fixed a bug causing various game audio to not be bound by menu audio sliders. Added concurrency to sounds to cap the maximum that can be playing at once as well- Fixed a bug with NPCs occasionally spawning in a perma-stunned state- Fixed a bug preventing enemies acquiring the player as a target in various situations- Fixed a bug causing enemies to spawn more sparsely than intended when the player is at certain heights- Fixed a bug causing various game audio to not be bound by menu audio sliders. Added concurrency to sounds to cap the maximum that can be playing at once as well- Fixed a bug causing homing missiles without a target to become inert land mines until an enemy walked into them- Fixed a bug causing multiple level up calls on the same frame if the player gained enough xp for multiple levels at once (result was only getting credit for one level regardless of how many were gained).- Increased range that repositioned NPCs would be placed around the player. Intent is to have less stealth assassins.- Removed some elements that were meant to be previews for future features from the game- Added momentum to the end of Kick - a portion of momentum is maintained. Kick now costs stamina to use.- Increased momentum boost to wall jump - you get more benefit from wall jumping at high speeds- Increased timing window required to land in a slide from the ai...
