Demo Update 2026/6/26: Boss Gauntlet Mode
A boss rush gauntlet mode has been added. It’s a new mini-hub area that’ll let you tackle 5 bosses in a row, automatically skipping all story bits apart from the intro cutscenes (if any).If you die during the gauntlet, you will be sent back to this hub area. This may replace the current demo hub in future. Some text has been reworked. The tutorial text for “Block 5 attacks” has been updated to “Deflect 5 attacks.”Louise’s outfit now also has a reduced exposure version for the Streamer Mode setting.Read full article on Community Announcements (kemomi2c)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update 2026/6/15: Fixes, redesigns, and some new features
This update was supposed to come out at the start of the month, but one thing lead to another, and well…Redesigned most of the in-game HUD.Redesigned Jin and Kouta. Most of the elements are largely the same, but it’s just modelled better.Jin now has his own boss fight. (Although it more or less reuses the same arena as Kana, but there’s a simple story reason for this, whenever I finally finish the story section. )The first fight after the tutorial has been reworked. You do not need to win in this to proceed, but the cutscene that plays will be different depending on whether you win or lose.Fixed a bug with chip damage not being reflected properly.Reworked a lot of backend logic on how phases work. It should be more stable, but more testing is needed. Fixed a bug where dying immediately after pressing Return To Hub would cause a softlock.Redesigned some UI menus.Rewrote a majority of the game’s text.Restructured the save file. Previous save data will be invalidated.A new taunt has been added. If you taunt while at 0 remaining heals, you can eat a riceball that grants a long-lasting regeneration effect.Added a “Streamer Mode” setting that reduces the exposure of certain outfits. By default, this will be set to OFF.Currently, Qipao, Maid, and Kana’s costumes have been implemented. It’s less exposure overall and it’s admittedly quite hastily implemented, but if you're cultured enough, I don't think you'll find them any worse than the original. This is primarily implemented because of upcoming IRL showcases in public, but it's also a way to explore slight differences in designs. For example, the reduced exposure version of the maid outfit now uses black pantyhose instead of white garter thigh-highs, and I'm sure there's people who prefer that over the original. (Even now, I was still torn between white pantyhose and black, but I figured black was the safer option. )As far as player outfits are concerned, I'd like to implement these as a per-costume setting rather than a ...Read full article on Community Announcements (kemomi2c)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update 2026/05/11: Animation Overhaul, Taunts, Maid Outfit
Reworked all hit animations.Rewrote the bulk of the main animation-related code. As a side effect, some animation locks related to getting hit have been changed. In general, it lasts a tiny bit longer now, due to it being tied to animation speed (affected by hitstop) vs unscaled game time. The overall duration has been adjusted to be similar to previous values.Lots of changes and tweaks under the hood, the base movement should feel a lot smoother now.Dialogue system has been reworked (for like, the 4th time?). I’m still in the middle of writing the story script alongside the new systems, so full story mode will have to wait. Added some idle animations/taunts. You can trigger these by pressing the T key on the keyboard, or SELECT on Controller. Reworked the old maid outfit. There's a special taunt you can do by holding back and pressing T. TauntsIn general, taunts will do the following:Increase damage taken and dealt (amount varies per character affected)Resets or reduces certain action cooldowns, making bosses more aggressive overall. Recovers stance and MP. May have special additional effects, and can even serve as extra attacks. There'll be more taunts in future, which you can unlock by progressing through the story or having it as part of the current costume. This also doubles as the idle animation system, so the same button can be used to trigger these even outside of combat.Read full article on Community Announcements (kemomi2c)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update 2026/04/18: Kana Overhaul
Complete overhaul of Kana's attacks and arena. She's now intended to be the first boss of the game instead of Louise. Disabled story mode. This will be the focus for the next update. Louise's defeat scene now has a new cutscene. Other bug fixes. Unfortunately, IRL work has been extraordinarily busy lately with overtime just about every day, so development has slowed down significantly.Read full article on Community Announcements (kemomi2c)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update 2026/03/30: Louise Overhaul
Complete overhaul of Louise’s attacks and mechanics. (Lance moveset is still missing some stuff, but the important bits are there!)In general, her animations should be easier to read... I hope... For now, she no longer has attacks to transition between weapons, and each weapon is unlocked as you progress through her fight rather than all of them being available right from the start.Fixed a bug where VFX would sometimes be set to an incorrect configuration.Restricted story mode. (You can still access it if you have an existing save, but there’s ongoing story and system work there to iron out.)Removed ??? boss from the demo. She will return in the far future... when you are ready. Reworked some cameras for grabs. Some angles have changed as a result of the new workflow, but at least now what I see in Blender is what I get in engine…Increased the recovery period for jump → hold attack.Upcoming Planned UpdatesLouise — Cutscenes rework. She was the first experiment in doing those, so it’s time I go back and improve it.Kana — General overhaul. Design might change a little. She was originally pushed out in just a couple of weeks, so this time I want to promote her into being a proper main boss rather than being just an optional side boss.Story — Will probably take a while. I want to finish writing almost everything first so that I can start to plan out VA and translation work. (I intend on getting JP voice, but this is something for much, much later since I still need to go through the extra step of translating the dialogue.)Nia and Lynette should see some tweaks later this month. Since Louise has a beam attack now, it wouldn’t be right for the dedicated mage character not to have one of her own, right?Read full article on Community Announcements (kemomi2c)
