Pilot tanks and fight back against a monster infestation in Ironclad. Collaborate with friends or other players to harness ancient technology for victory in this action-packed horror experience from Trash Planet Games.

About this game

Ironclad is a co-op horror game where you and a small crew pilot tanks to eradicate the monster infestation plaguing the world. Work together and harness ancient technology to end the scourge once and for all.

With up to 6 players, drive, shoot, repair, and upgrade your tanks while traversing across a treacherous land inhabited by powerful eldritch horrors in search of the ultimate weapon. Find refuge at safe points and don't forget to keep an eye on your oxygen levels.

Take your pick between driving and shooting in team-piloted tanks. Do you split up or stick together as you search for supplies and artifacts to combat the brutal landscape?

While running might be your best option, it's not your only option. Find weapons, ammo, and health packs to fight off monsters and stay alive, even if just barely.

And of course, blow some stuff up with your tanks!

Don't worry, if your body gets destroyed (and it will), your spirit lives on! Your friends have enough of your DNA to construct you a new body in the resurrection pods.

    Dev Update #8

Hey Crew, we're back with some more IRONCLAD development news!Since our last update, we've added a couple more systems and a bunch more content in order to round-out gameplay. Without spoiling too much of the specifics, I'll cover a portion of everything we've added.EnemiesIf you participated in the first Ironclad playtest, you likely felt that the enemies were all a bit one-note. In an effort to address the whole 'every enemy just runs straight at you', we've made changes to almost all the enemy's behavior and even implemented some new little guys.Howlers now display better pack-behavior. They will work together to attack you but bicker amongst themselves. Alpha Howlers better reflect their name and have some unique attacks and abilities.Ticks will combat you with large sticky projectiles. The Gripper lurks in deep places and makes you second-guess yourself. The Nibblers now make an appearance and swarm you from their nests. They also received slight model updates and animation overhauls.ItemsWe've added some awesome new guns. One even uses the tank's machine gun ammo. Additionally, we're excited to deliver a weapon type that a lot of people have been asking for: MELEE weapons! Out of ammo? Smack that sucker with a wrench!TanksWhat would a tank game be like with only one tank? We've already talked about it a bunch in the past, but the ROACH tank is finally fully-implemented. It can be effectively crewed by 1 or 2 players in case you're playing all by yourself or find yourself lost amongst the monsters without the proper equipment. We've also implemented an initial version of our largest 6-person tank codenamed the SLUG, but it's a bit too early to show that one off. Bear with us as we test and iron out its mechanics.Tank PositionsIn the playtest, we had driver, gunner, and commander tank positions. The Commander position was added in the middle of the playtest and only served to operate a camera above the tank. We felt that this position was lacking and a bit boring. W...

    Dev Update #7

Hey Crew, I hope you all have been doing well! After many months of writing dev updates, I still don't know how to organize these well or what information is best to actually include in them... This update is going to give you a taste of (some of) the things we've been working on and some updates on the team over here at Trash Planet Games.Full Steam Ahead!I started making these steam community posts to show you guys that we are actively developing and that Ironclad won't be another indie game that never releases. While I'll still continue to make these dev updates, I'm excited to share with you all that we've had the privilege to quit our day jobs and work Full Time on IRONCLAD. We feel so lucky that we're able to work on this game every day so we can make it the best version it can be. So thank you all for helping us achieve our dreams of being Game Devs!Dying Sucks, But What If...You turned into a LITTLE TANK INSTEAD?? Previously, our resurrection system would kind of spawn you in a random place separating you from your friends. That was temporary and y'all didn't quite enjoy that (neither did we). After "dying", you're head will separate from your body and you'll become HELMET TANK. This will give you the ability to stick with your crew and have the opportunity to be revived. More to come on this guy in a future update.More Knobs and SwitchesWe obviously needed quite a few more quality of life and accessibility features so we focused a bit of time on adding some more settings. To name a few, we now have full key rebinding, invert mouse, FOV scaling. These Weapons Look Cool, But Why Can't I See Them?We overhauled our first-person view and added first-person animations to pretty much every relevant action. You can clearly see EVERY item you hold. You see when you're cooking a grenade. You see yourself reload. Your body is no longer bladed to the side while holding an item. Trust me, it looks way better now. (Preview below is what it looks like to now hold the Snot P...

    Playtest Wrapup

Hey Crew. This first playtest has officially wrapped up! We had over 50,000 crewmembers play our tank game, and that's honestly pretty crazy! I wanna thank everyone that played and took the time to leave us feedback - we'll be going through all of it to see where Ironclad needs to be improved the most. There will be more playtests and demos in the future, but for now, we're gunna be a bit heads-down working on improving the game. Thanks again!

    Dev Update #6

Hey Crew, sorry about not sending my usual dev update strictly on the 10th of this month, I'm sure some of you noticed. We just pushed our final (tm) update to this playtest and while it's not a large update, we hope that it's an impactful one. It mainly addresses the game's performance and we wanted to get a gauge for whether we moved the needle for those who have been having trouble running IRONCLAD in the past. Because we were focusing on performance for this update, we intentionally didn't add many new features so we wouldn't muddy the waters. That being said, we decided to at least give you guys some health packs so you don't always feel like you're one strong breeze away from death (although you probably are anyway).Everyone who has been waiting for playtest access will now have it, so run wild. As you will also be able to see in the Main Menu, this playtest will come to a close on April 27th at Noon EST. I hope everyone has a chance to hop into a game with some friends and we appreciate anyone who goes out of their way to give us feedback. This can be done via the google form accessible in the main menu of Ironclad, in the community forums for the playtest, or by joining the Discord and yelling at me personally (or preferably in the #feedback-suggestions channel). We've had to wear a lot of different hats this month and our attention has been spread a bit thin, but I expect these dev updates to return to normal next month as we're able to give our full focus on development, and I'm excited to keep you all in the loop as IRONCLAD continues to take shape.Thank you again for all the support, bleep bloop my cat is licking my face :)

    Dev Update #5

Hey crew, so our first playtest has been underway since February 27th, and I just want to thank everyone who has tried out IRONCLAD (all 11,000 of you), and doubly thank those who have taken the time to leave us feedback! We know we presented a pretty early version of the game to you guys, but that just means that we have more time to actually act on the feedback that everyone has given. That being said, we have received some feedback on how we've decided to run the playtest itself, and we will be working to improve that experience in the future. We have been letting groups of playtesters in as we make updates so that we can get peoples' first impressions as we make improvements, but we realize that we were not clear enough with how we intended on running the playtest, and some folks were disappointed they didn't get in on the 27th (or still haven't gotten in).We plan on making another large update or two before closing out this first playtest and by that final update, everyone who has requested access will be given it. Additionally, we plan on having the playtest open until around the end of the month, or slightly later, but we will update everyone once we have a concrete date/time so nobody is surprised.I'm not going to go over our changelog here because that information is more readily-available on the Playtest's Community Hub, but we're hard at work and progress has been good. I'm excited for everyone to get hands-on experience with some of the most requested features and changes in the coming weeks.Thank you again for all the support and excitement around the playtest, and I will make sure to update everyone on the closing date of playtest #1 when I know it.
