About this game
risk of rabbit is an endlessly randomly generated, fast paced, skill based, 2D competitive action game.
my initial inspiration for this game was 'Risk of Rain', hence the similar game name.but as i worked on this, the game became less like Risk of Rain and more its own thing.
you complete randomly generated levels about 1-2 minutes in length.
in each level, waves of swarming alien monsters spawn to the left and right.you play as a rabbit ninja and defeat them with your guns, sword, dash, kunais, bombs, and caltrops.
the gameplay is hopefully easy to learn but hard to master.
the gameplay is fast, every action is quick, and you can do many actions at once.it gets pretty spammy, but timing and using your actions strategically is key to completing high levels.
the trailers portray this game very transparently.
what you see in those are full levels, they are whole gameplay loops..
.
this is a competitive game.
the game is endless, there will always be one more level and each is harder than the last.and the random generation is seeded, meaning we all play the exact same levels.
so the goal is to complete as many levels as you can.
can you beat more levels than your friends?
my highest completed level is 121, can you beat this? :)
if you'd like, post a video of the highest level you complete on Bluesky and include @riskofrabbit.bsky.sociali'll post my level 121 video after everyones had a chance to play.
.
.
the controls are unique, unlike anything you've probably played before.

you play with both hands on a keyboard.
you aim your attacks using the keyboard.
for example...
to throw a bomb left, you press 'Q' with your left hands ring finger.
to throw a bomb right, you press 'E' with your left hands index finger.
to slice your sword left, you press 'U' with your right hands index finger.
to slice your sword right, you press 'O' with your right hands ring finger.
.
.
i've designed this game so that it should be able to run on old hardware.
if you have a 10+ year old laptop without a graphics card and 2GB of RAM, this game should hopefully run on that.i've also designed this game to be locked to 60 fps.
i've done this so that players with great hardware won't get an advantage running this game at high framerates.so whether your playing on a potato laptop or a modern 3K gaming pc, you can be sure it's an even playing field.
i found that locking this game to 60 fps does not adversely affect the fast paced/quick reaction nature of it.
i'm a competitive gamer and i don't notice any lag in my inputs while playing.since this game is driven entirely with a keyboard, you don't need a super high framerate for it to feel responsive.
if this we're a first person shooter and we we're using mice though, then it would be an entirely different matter.
.
.
i've designed this game so that it should look good at 4K.
the assets are all high resolution and you'll only see the the full detail at 1440p and 4K..
.
this game does not have any music. :(
it's the biggest glaring weakness of this game. :(i'm not skilled at making music (at least not yet) and so could not make any.
there is however a diverse palette of sound effects.
the game gets very noisy and sounds like an intense battle.i'm hoping this is enough to provide a satisfactory audio experience.

risk of rabbit is now available
hey everyone, risk of rabbit is now available to play sorry for the delayed released, i wanted this out a month ago i ran into some snags that needed to get resolved before release but i also decided to sneak in a couple of features i really wanted before release i think this game is actually pretty good now, much better than what i had a month ago if you like quick, fast paced, brainy action games, you gotta give this a go this game doesn't have a lot of content right now, i figure most players will only get 2-4 hours of fun out of it before moving on but i think yall will really enjoy those 2-4 hours, so think of this game as like renting a movie or something i really like how this game turned out and plan on working on it more its in good shape code wise and ready for new features in the short term i plan on adding more enemys, objectives, and other incremental things over the long term i plan on adding new classes and game modes and maybe even multiplayer? not sure about the multiplayer quite yet, idk if it would play well for this game but who knows, i'll think about it more i hope yall enjoy and i look forward to continuing to build a cool, little, niche, unique, action game :)Read full article on Community Announcements (Badger72)
