Take control of a relentless warrior in Wrath and Retribution, where each mission brings new challenges and upgrades. Navigate through a besieged solar system with your companion Merlin by your side, mastering the Specter Drive’s unique abilities to survive and thrive.

About this game

Wrath and Retribution is an intense, high-speed space combat roguelike where every mission forges you into an unstoppable force.

The Remnants have seized the solar system’s transit network in a single coordinated strike - and you are spearheading the counter attack.

You are Specter One, pilot of the Retribution, a one-of-a-kind prototype armed with the experimental Specter Drive and its signature displacement dash that lets you tear through enemy fleets with brutal precision.

Earn powerful weapons and upgrades with every engagement, build devastating synergies with your companion Merlin, and grow more lethal with every run.

PLAN. FIGHT. LOOT.

Each hub is an active warzone - a mission map packed with hostile formations to engage, shipyards to resupply at, and a transit node known as an Array to liberate at the end. Pick your targets wisely: every mission costs Array stability, and how you plot your path determines how prepared you are when you reach the final showdown.

Missions are immediate and intense. Enemy groups range from light fighter squadrons to capital ships bristling with turrets and escorts. Tear through their ranks with your weapon loadout, the Specter Drive’s displacement dash, and Merlin’s combat abilities - then choose your rewards and plot your next move. The higher the risk, the fiercer the fight and the better the rewards.

Update 1.9 - New text languages!

The main highlight of version 1.9 surely is the support for additional languages that are available to you. But first, another humble ask before I go into the details: Remember that Steam's recommendation engine is in huge parts built around the review system. I'd be very grateful if you considered to leave a review with your thought about the game! Now, besides the original English and the later German translation, the game now offers texts in Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil) and Simplified Chinese. The most suitable language should be picked at game start.Apart from that there are again a couple of other improvements that once again make the game even more enjoyable. A full list of changes is below.Let me know if you find any issues with this.Enjoy!Full changelog verion 1.9Added additional ingame text languagesUsing translations for mission namesReworked mission names for better recognitionIncreased the selectable operation highlight effect visibility on hub selectionRemoved possible one-ship battlegroup from low-risk Neptune mission roosterAdded additional icons and texts to location selection panel for better location type recognitionShowing confirmation screen with additional information when selecting to start tutorialSwitching weapon loadout in tutorial to mostly the usual game startup gear and adapting enemy health accordinglyImproved Charon engine exhaust visuals when engines are getting disabledImproving font renderingAdded missing Open Font License terms to credits

Update 1.5 - Subsystem damage, improved loot, fixes

This week's update 1.5 is here and again several aspects of the game get some nice tweaks and improvements - alongside some important fixes. One of the highlights is the increased incentive to try out new gear, because occasionally you will find higher-level items instead of just items at the starting level 1. Also destroying turrets and other subsystems of a battleship now causes additional damage to the main ship up to a certain threshold - significantly reducing the time it takes to finish off those enemies after you've taken care of turrets. And a bad bug has been fixed which caused modules to be assigned to inaccessible slots - there are additional notes for this below. As always: Enjoy and have fun!Changelog 1.5Destruction of a subsystem like turrets now inflicts damage on the main enemy ship, significantly reducing the time it takes to destroy a battleship after you took care of turretsAdded a probability to grant higher-level reward items based on your current equipment levels to incentivize additional build configurationsMade all Merlin skills appear more oftenMade Reactor Overload appear in Mars hub only in “High” instead of even “Substantial” reward level missionsGranting 10% resp. 20% more credits in the two later hubsReduced Arcvolt shot audioReduced Lightlance shot audioIncreased likelihood of debris spawning in missionsIncreased likelihood of low and mid density debrisFixed an issue causing weapons and modules to disappear in unavailable slots after upgrading while having the Refabrication Kit equipped, becoming unmanageableFixed enemy shields getting reactivated to full strength when systems recovered after EMP damageFixed Drauger shields being reactivated after system EMP damage although shield generator was destroyedFixed enemy systems not recovering after getting full EMP damageFixed Saturn missions not taking place in relative location to the planetFixed display of Shield Recharge Rate % value in Upgrade screenFixed the Discord button in the main m...
