It’s Halloween night, 1978, the unsuspecting families of the quiet suburban town of Haddonfield are making holiday preparations, and evil has made its way home. Take The Shape of Evil as Michael Myers or save your neighbors as a Hero of Haddonfield in Halloween, the ultimate asymmetrical horror sandbox.

As Michael, players wear the mask, become the Boogeyman, and stalk innocent residents with relentless obsession. Utilizing a nightmarish array of abilities, Michael leverages shadows and stealth to satisfy his bloodthirst. This doesn’t mean Haddonfield is going down without a fight. Frightened townsfolk will call the local authorities and even fight back when threatened, incentivizing Michael to avoid detection. And for the first time ever, fans of the transformative original film will have the option to witness the haunting narrative events surrounding "The Night He Came Home" through the eyes of Michael Myers in a standalone singleplayer story mode.

As a Hero of Haddonfield, it’s your job to alert the residents of Haddonfield to the impending evil and help them escape before falling victim to Michael’s unyielding pursuit. In dynamic and ever-changing 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer matches, hero players must arm themselves with everyday household items, weapons, and knowledge to combat an unpredictable and unkillable enemy. Convincing townsfolk and contacting the police will lead to increasingly powerful and thorough neighborhood patrols. To even the odds, you can command and equip NPCs with weapons to outsmart or even overpower The Shape, providing precious windows for escape.

This immersive horror sandbox is powered by Unreal Engine 5 to deliver engaging and dynamic gameplay systems, life-like NPCs, hauntingly realistic visuals, cinema-quality lighting, and endless scares for you and your friends. Asymmetrical horror comes home in Halloween.

    Patch Notes 1.0.4

This patch includes a variety of high priority crash fixes, adjustments and improvements for XBOX Series X|S players, as well as fixes to the recently introduced Grab issues.Earlier this week, we rolled out Patch 1.0.3 for Halloween: The Game. While this update brought a variety of fixes and improvements to the experience, it also introduced a couple frustrating problems stemming from our changes to Grabs/Struggling. As a special thanks to our community for enduring Michael’s inhumane grip strength and some lingering performance/optimization issues, especially on XBOX Series X|S, we are granting 10,000 Perk Points to all our current Halloween: The Game players. Grab StrugglingOur original goal with Patch 1.0.3. was to allow Civilians increased opportunities to Struggle Free from Grabs at Stalk Tier 2 and below. Unfortunately, these changes in combination with other bug fixes associated with Grabs inadvertently caused it to become exponentially more difficult for a Civilian to Struggle Free from Michael at Bloodthirst Level 3 and caused Civilian players to sometimes take fall damage after successfully Struggling Free. We understand the irritation these issues produced and apologize for allowing them to slip through alongside our last update.Fixed an issue where Bloodthirst Level 3 would cause Grabs to be way harder to escape from than intendedFixed an issue where Struggling free from a grab while on uneven terrain would cause the Civilian to take fall damageCrash Fixes And OptimizationXBOXWith Patch 1.0.4, our team has made strides in improving performance and stability on XBOX Series X|S. We’ve addressed a range of memory and GPU-related crashes, and adjusted Quality/Performance settings on both Series X and S. Adjusted settings for Performance Mode on XBOX Series X to improve performance Introduced a new singular graphics mode for XBOX Series SIn an effort to address stability issues, we have removed the Quality/Performance toggle on Series SThis Series S profile c...

    Patch 1.0.3

Patch Notes 1.0.3It’s hard to believe that it’s already been two weeks since we welcomed players to Haddonfield with the official launch of Halloween: The Game. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who’s jumped into our asymmetrical horror sandbox so far, and our team continues to work tirelessly to refine the experience for our players. As we discussed in our What’s Coming Next? post last week, thanks to your thoughtful feedback, our team has identified and prioritized a list of pain points to tackle. In today’s 1.0.3 patch, we are very excited to address many of these issues by introducing a host of bug and crash fixes, balance adjustments, and gameplay improvements. Balance AdjustmentsAs we continue to play, monitor, and gather feedback, we’ve identified some balance adjustments we felt were necessary for this patch. Many of these changes are being rolled out to minimize frustrating, overpowered, or unenjoyable situations. While we are happy to implement the following changes, we have also identified additional balance opportunities we plan to release with future updates. Your passionate feedback has been greatly beneficial to the team and we are eager to continue improving Halloween: The Game. Civilian Melee RebalanceWe performed a Civilian-focused melee rebalance to eliminate easy one-shot Michael downs, especially when using Bob and Laurie or Perks that give a boost while Drunk. This also included buffing Michael’s Bloodthirst Damage Resistance to extend the duration of melee encounters. We want Civilians to be capable of fighting back against Michael, but we recognized that certain characters could inflict extremely high damage far too consistently. Reduced effectiveness of Capability for Melee Damage at higher stat valuesIncreased effectiveness of Capability for Melee Damage at lower stat valuesReduced Fear Resistance granted by the Heavyweight traitReduced Melee Damage granted by the Heavyweight traitReduced effect of Civilian melee damage boost while Dru...
