Lots of Fixes
This is probably our biggest post-demo patch so far:Cass is now visible behind most obstacles during combat. This should help players stay aware of where they are in a space. The HUD now notifies you about the general position of offscreen enemies.Adjusted rotational tracking behavior of all enemies. This is mostly a bugfix and won't be noticeable, but it has altered the behavior of the second boss significantly. Also adjusted the second boss's positional tracking during her melee combo. It is now possible to dodge all three of her melee attacks instead of parrying them.Removed two of the second boss's attacks on Easy mode. She was a notable difficulty wall for Easy players, and this should hopefully be less intense now.Improved the contrast of the second boss's missile attacks against the environment.Fixed a bug that caused certain enemies to behave incorrectly when the game was paused mid-combat.Made the outlines of all characters behave consistently.Fixed an issue where standing in front of some materials would cause character outlines to disappear.Improved the behavior of larger drones.Fixed a bug where the player could fire missiles when out of missile charges.Cass now loses less shield charge when taking damage on Easy and Normal mode.Fixed several other minor visual issues in cutscenes. Thanks again for playing Steel Carnelian. Please let us know if you encounter any other issues!Read full article on Community Announcements (Catbird Soft)AnnouncementsOfficial
Full Controller Support + Dev Console
This build doesn't contain much in the way of bug fixes or adjustments for the base game. However, you can now use a gamepad to navigate the game from start to finish, including the options menu. We've also added a dev console! Access this in game with the backquote (`) key. The dev console allows you to: Load any checkpoint in the game Adjust difficulty on the fly Toggle cheats like godmode or x10 damage Quickly reset to the beginning of a level As development continues, most of these features will likely be added to the game's regular menus, but we've allowed players to access them now in order to smooth over their experience until that happens.Read full article on Community Announcements (Catbird Soft)Patch NotesOfficial
New Patch + Mac Build Support
Hey! New patch for the pilot. Probably got one big one left before we get back to work on the full game. Obviously the big news here is the new platform (yay) but for all you Windows players we do have some items worth considering: Scoring is fixed! Scores are now much more predictable and reflective of your performance in a level. Increased the number of bullets in a clip from 12 to 16. A successful parry restores 8 bullets to your clip (was 4 previously) Boosting now immediately restores 8 bullets to your clip (was 4 previously). Also increased the rate of additional bullets gained while holding boost. Successful parries now reduce your boost gauge. Boost initial cost reduced by 40%. Boost ongoing cost reduced by 20%. Increased the health pools of some tankier enemies (as you're gonna be putting more bullets downrange now). Reduced the delay between missile lockons when holding the crosshair over a single lockon point. Fixed a bug where certain projectile sequences were not parriable under certain circumstances.Read full article on Community Announcements (Catbird Soft)
