Step into the gritty streets of 1990’s Cascadia as you battle it out in PUBG: DED.NET, a multi-player first-person shooter with unpredictable roguelite twists.

About this game

PUBG: DEDNET is a new multiplayer FPS that combines shooter gameplay with roguelite progression across runs, giving players new ways to experiment, adapt and build their own approach in the strange and unpredictable world of 1990’s Cascadia.

Grunge Music. Body Horror. The Occult. DEDNET is a dark, dark place. But you’ll never feel so alive, even when you die. You’ll come back better…

In PUBG:DEDNET, a match lost is never a run wasted. Every drop of blood writes the next chapter—what you scavenge in the world changes you, and that changes how you fight. Death is Only the Beginning

  • GENRE-BENDING SURVIVAL: Multiplayer FPS combat with run-based roguelite progression.

  • THE PATH TO DOMINANCE: Make your run through 1990s Cascadia to treat injuries, earn abilities, and outlast competitors to become the king of killers.

  •  PLAYSTYLE FREEDOM: Mix and match dozens of abilities to build your own custom approach to combat.

  • UNORTHODOX TACTICS: Use car doors as riot shields, cannibalize enemies for health, play dead, or hack payphones to steal money from rivals.

  • DEATH IS ONLY THE BEGINNING: Every lost match feeds your next run—scavenge resources, retain progression, and evolve your build.

PUBG: DED.NET Is An Unapologetic, 90s Inspired “Remix Of What PUBG Could Be”

Unveiled during Opening Night Live 2026, PUBG: DED.NET is not a game mode coming to the PUBG battle royale experience many are familiar with, but is instead an entirely new experience altogether. This new game, then, promises to combine shooter gameplay with roguelite progress across runs, all set in a world inspired by the works of auteurs such as David Lynch and David Cronenberg. To understand more about the makings of and inspirations behind PUBG: DED.NET, during gamescom 2026, I sat down to speak with PUBG creative director Dave Curd: Hello and thank you so much for having me! How do you go from PUBG to PUBG: DED.NET? How did you get here as a studio? Dave Curd: I was tasked by my boss with spreading the good word of PUBG with non-believers. So, we are almost a 10-year-old game: we’ve got millions of fans and we’re very fortunate. But, the game’s not for everybody, you know? So, you start looking at the automotive industry, weirdly. Like, Ford makes a Mustang, but ... Read more

PUBG's new spin-off game is 'faster, meaner, and more aggressive' with sword hands and 'a little bit of light cannibalism'

PUBG remains one of Steam's most-played games, which makes it all the more surprising that PUBG Studios and publisher Krafton haven't made more attempts to milk it over the years. PUBG: DED NET might be the biggest yank of the udder to date though, revealing an entirely new spin-off roguelite FPS set in the '90s. And if you didn't know the game was set in the '90s, you sure will after the game's trailer beats you over the head with period-accurate vibes... Read more.
