About this game
You are David Landis, a tormented young man who wants to run away from Hell’s Creek to become a pro surfer.
When you’re about to leave the village in your convertible, Sheriff Naschy steps in your way to capture you. Because you are a werewolf, and monsters never leave Hell’s Creek.
You will need to run through some of the most iconic American cities in a frenetic chase, defeating the men recruited by the Sheriff.
Will you survive the hordes of enemies to reach L.A.?
An American Werewolf in L.A. is the sequel in spirit of the 80s’ horror classic. A tribute to cinema and videogames of that era in arcade format for one or two player(s) locally. Staying true to the most traditional Beat’n’Up style!
Intro music by Ozzed, game music by Wyver9.

An American Werewolf in L.A.
Making video games is already quite special. But sometimes, something makes it even more exciting. Back in 2019, the Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival City of La Laguna - a local movie festival with international projection - asked us to be part of the event creating its first official video game. We love fantasy movies, we love games. There was not much money involved... but we said yes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44809117/9b4c3663348467ce164b9fc1c2cc5c7042859df9.png That 3rd edition's central theme was the Werewolf, with stellar guests like Rick Baker and David Naughton, and a screening of John Landis' An American Werewolf in London. Paul Naschy's memory would be present too - a quite famous Spanish werewolf on screen - so from the beginning we were sure they had to star in the game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44809117/39afdfdf986d788dae23016f27a719dc3c906ac0.png The organization wanted the game to be played in classic arcade cabinets, and thus it had to be a classic arcade game. After some meetings with organizers, and mostly inspired by our own gaming experience, the references were clear: Kung Fu Master, Vigilante, Green Beret... All of them simple but fun and compelling games. And awfully difficult. We were shocked to find out that Kung Fu Master lasted only SIX MINUTES. I personally never got further than floor 2... So that was it: a 2D, short and difficult beat'm'up. Development begun. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44809117/f1c2e70947191fa7a2a5e564ae4d003bab64e337.png Five months later, An American Werewolf in L.A. was ready to be played in the arcade cabinets provided by Canary Arcades, at the theater, next to the popcorn machines. Young D. Landis was ready to flee from Hell's Creek and chase his dream: to become a profesional surfer in L.A! But Sheriff Naschy wouldn't make it easy. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44809117/c6606c01ea1d515d1fd56bf7b3d021d3e6b16808.png During a whole week, young and old people alike played the game. First patch!
After a wonderful first weekend we have found a few issues that needed addressing: UI is now properly translated. If a button or text has been overlooked please tell us! Gamepads now work on the Continue screen. Much needed. Game entered pause when unfocused, but it was weird going back. It now unpauses automatically. Fixed final boss intro screen. Added skip buttons to ending scene and credits. Have you already tried playing with a friend? You can even use Remote Play Together to invite someone! Thank you a lot for playing, we hope you are having fun! The Aurita Games teamRead full article on Community Announcements (Aurita Games)
