Experience intense action as you blast, chomp, and swerve your way to high scores in Amicade. Released in 2023 by Gaterooze, Ink, this game combines three Score Attack experiences with global competition through online leaderboards.

About this game

Amicade is a nostalgic trip to the arcades, where you'll find three Score Attack games with online Leaderboards - all set to Free Play!

These games were originally made within 24 hours each, using various assets for graphics and sound, then later combined into this arcade collection. As a big fan of classic games from the Atari to the Amiga, this was a ton of fun to make!

The included games are:

  • Astro Clash

Smash the asteroids that are hurtling towards your base! Big asteroids are slower but do more damage, and split apart to shower you with trouble. Your ship is safe, but if your base takes enough damage, it's game over.

  • Shark Park

Steer your fish to avoid hungry sharks and belligerent fish. You can eat any fish smaller than you - eat enough to grow in size! Fish the same size or larger will kill you, so watch out until you grow to MAX size when you can eat everything but the sharks. Remember to dash out of trouble!

  • Ski Fall

Hit the slopes, but watch out for the giant snowballs rolling across the piste! Aim between the flags to avoid a time penalty, although just touching them is usually enough. Learn the best routes to get the best time!

CrossOver: Roll For Initiative releasing on July 23rd!

My new game "CrossOver: Roll For Initiative" finally has its release date, and it's less than 2 weeks away! There is a free demo and WISHLISTING the game would really help me out. Thanks for taking a look! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1713080/CrossOver_Roll_For_Initiative/ CrossOver is a bizarre mashup of game styles into a frantic puzzle/action/RPG. With its retro stylings (pixel monsters! '80s bedroom! Classic Fighting Fantasy interludes!) it could definitely appeal to those of you who enjoyed playing Amicade. It even has a little hidden shooter minigame that I know you'll dig ;)

    Amicade v1.0.3

There's been some great feedback and requests from the first weekend of Amicade competition, so I've made a few tweaks: Pause Mode added - this was requested by a few people and at first I though, "You can't pause an arcade machine!" but after seeing how high the Shark Park score has grown, I think it's now needed. TAB key or X button pauses/unpauses. Astro Clash improved late-game - for some reason I thought the difficulty infinitely scaled; it doesn't, but it may as well have because the difficulty cap was monstrous. I've lowered it slightly so that the late game of Astro Clash is more enjoyable and skill-based instead of primarily luck. This will mean much bigger scores are possible, so it's open slather again! Quit current run using gamepad (mainly for Steam Deck users) - you can now do this from the pause menu. Note that Escape key no longer quits, do it from pause instead. Shark Park tweak - I added a small minimum gap between when each shark is possible to first appear (the dreaded "Daa-dah" sound). This makes less crazy situations possible early in the game, however it won't impact the late game at all so top scoring is unaffected. Astro Clash restart delay - a few players noted that when they are holding the fire button down and die, they sometimes don't let go of fire quick enough and a new game starts without seeing their previous score. I added a bigger delay until you can restart to better avoid this. Amicade remembers which game you last played - upon request, when you return to the menu screen (or boot Amicade), the coin slot of the last game you played will be automatically selected.

    Amicade v1.0.2

    * Fixed a bug in Ski Fall where the snowballs would stop appearing (h/t SmashJT)! I'll be removing the score or two from the leaderboard that encountered it.
