Win rate calculator

Work out your win rate from wins and losses, and how many more wins you'd need to reach a target win rate.

The "wins needed" figure is a best-case number — it assumes every match from here on is a win, with zero further losses. It's a floor on how many wins it would take, not a forecast of how many it'll actually take.

Enter wins and losses to see your win rate.
Enter a target win rate to see how many wins it takes.

Worked example

Say you've played 60 matches, winning 32 and losing 28. Win rate: 32 ÷ 60 × 100 ≈ 53.3%.

Now say you want to reach 60% without any further losses. Solving for the smallest n where (32 + n) ÷ (60 + n) ≥ 0.60 gives n = 10 — 10 more consecutive wins. That brings your record to 42 wins out of 70 total matches, exactly 60%.

FAQ

How is win rate calculated?

Wins divided by total matches played (wins + losses), shown as a percentage.

How does the 'wins needed' figure work?

It's the smallest number of additional, consecutive wins — assuming no further losses — that would bring your overall win rate up to the target you enter.

Does this work for any game?

Yes — it's a generic calculator based only on the numbers you enter, not tied to a specific game's data.

Can I target a 100% win rate?

No — once even one loss is on record, 100% is mathematically unreachable no matter how many more wins follow, so it isn't accepted as a valid target.

Can I target a 0% win rate?

No — a 0% target effectively means "never win," which isn't a meaningful number of wins to solve for.

What if I enter negative wins or losses?

Negative values aren't accepted — enter your actual, non-negative win and loss counts.

How is the win rate percentage displayed?

Rounded to one decimal place, e.g. 63.4%.

Does the 'wins needed' figure account for future losses?

No — it's a best-case number assuming a perfect run of consecutive wins from here. Any further loss would mean more wins are actually needed than shown.

Can I use this to see how many losses would drop my win rate?

No — this calculator only solves for wins needed to reach a higher target, not the reverse (losses needed to hit a lower one).

Does this predict my future performance?

No — it only does arithmetic on the wins, losses, and target you enter. It doesn't model skill, opponents, or anything about how future matches will actually go.
