Question 1

What is the layout of this keyboard?

Accepted Answer

The AJAZZ AK820 features a 75% QWERTY layout, which means it lacks some function keys and numeric keypad found on full-size keyboards. This makes it more compact but still offers essential keys for gaming and typing.

Question 2

Who would benefit from using this keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Gamers and users who prefer a more compact setup will find the 75% QWERTY layout appealing due to its space-saving design while maintaining necessary functionality. It’s also suitable for those looking for a mechanical keyboard with hot-swappable switches without the bulk of a full-size model.

Question 3

Can I change the key switch type?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this keyboard supports hot-swappable keycaps and switches, allowing you to customize your keyboard's feel and performance according to personal preference. This feature is particularly useful for gamers who want to experiment with different switch types like red, brown, or blue.

Question 4

What kind of LED lighting does it have?

Accepted Answer

The keyboard features white North-facing LED lighting, which means the lights are positioned towards the user’s side. This setup provides clear visibility of key labels and keys while maintaining a sleek appearance on the front of your desk.

Question 5

Are there any accessories included with the purchase?

Accepted Answer

The box includes PBT keycaps in black for durability and tactile feedback, as well as a volume control knob that can be attached to the side of the keyboard. These components contribute to both functionality and customization options without adding unnecessary bulk.

Question 6

How does this compare to other 75% keyboards?

Accepted Answer

Compared to other 75% keyboards, the AK820 offers a balance between compactness and feature richness with its hot-swappable switches and volume control knob. It’s designed for users who value modularity and customization without sacrificing gaming performance.

Question 7

Is this keyboard suitable for typing tasks as well?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, while optimized for gaming, the 75% layout still includes all necessary keys for general typing. The red switches provide a tactile feedback that is beneficial for both gaming and everyday use, making it versatile enough for various tasks.

Question 8

How does the volume control knob work with the keyboard?

Accepted Answer

The volume control knob can be connected to any compatible media key on the keyboard, allowing you to adjust audio levels directly from your desk without needing to reach for a mouse or controller. This feature enhances convenience and focus during gameplay.

Question 9

Can I use this keyboard with multiple devices?

Accepted Answer

Since it is wired, you would need to connect it via USB to one device at a time. However, if you frequently switch between gaming and work, this isn’t an issue as the keyboard can be easily unplugged from one device and connected to another.

Question 10

What should I consider before purchasing?

Accepted Answer

Before buying, ensure that your current setup supports a wired connection (most modern computers do). Also, check if you need additional accessories like keycaps or switches. Lastly, consider the layout’s fit with your desk space and personal preferences for key switch types and lighting effects.
