Question 3

How do these keycaps compare to other PBT keycaps?

Accepted Answer

PBT (Polybutadiene) keycaps offer a hard, durable surface that resists wear and tear. These Akko keycaps are made from high-quality PBT material, providing a longer-lasting alternative to ABS keycaps. They also offer better tactile feedback compared to some other materials.

To maintain the quality and appearance of your Akko PBT keycaps, avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals. Regular cleaning with mild soap and water can help keep them looking new. Let them dry completely before reassembling your keyboard.

Question 6

How do these keycaps fit into a typical mechanical keyboard setup?

These keycaps are designed to fit standard 138-key layouts, which means they will work seamlessly with most full-size mechanical keyboards that have this number of keys. The MOG profile ensures a comfortable and balanced typing experience.

Question 7

Accepted Answer

While PBT keycaps are durable, it’s important to handle them gently during assembly and disassembly to avoid damaging the surface or edges. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools that could scratch the keycaps.

Question 8

How do these keycaps feel when typing on a keyboard?

Accepted Answer

The MOG profile provides a balanced blend of travel distance and actuation force, making these keycaps comfortable for both gaming and general use. Users often appreciate the tactile feedback and smooth actuation provided by PBT material.

Question 9

Can I mix these keycaps with other brands or profiles?

Accepted Answer

Mixing keycaps from different brands or profiles can be done but may affect the overall feel of your keyboard setup. If you plan to mix, ensure that all keycaps are compatible in terms of size and profile to maintain a cohesive and comfortable typing experience.

Question 10

Are these keycaps suitable for beginners?

Accepted Answer

While anyone can use these keycaps, they might be more suited to users who have some familiarity with mechanical keyboards. The MOG profile requires a bit of adjustment but offers excellent tactile feedback once you get used to it. Beginners should consider trying out the keycaps on a smaller scale first if possible.
