Question 2

How many outlets does the extension lead have?

Accepted Answer

The Duronic Tower Extension Lead ST12B features 12 gang outlets, providing ample space for connecting multiple devices. This is particularly useful in home entertainment centers where you might need to plug in several gadgets without cluttering your workspace.

Question 3

Does this power strip come with any additional accessories?

Accepted Answer

In the box, you will find the extension lead itself along with a UK multi-plug adapter. No other accessories are included; however, these should be sufficient for most users' needs.

Question 4

Can I use this surge protector in my home office setup?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, this power strip is ideal for home offices as it offers 12 outlets and spike protection, which can safeguard your work equipment from voltage spikes. It’s perfect for setting up a comprehensive workspace with multiple devices like computers, printers, and chargers.

Question 5

How does the surge protector function?

Accepted Answer

The surge protector in this extension lead is designed to protect your connected devices from power surges that could damage sensitive electronics. When a spike occurs, it diverts excess voltage away from your equipment, ensuring they remain safe and operational.

Question 6

Is this compatible with all UK plug types?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the multi-UK plug outlet socket on this extension lead is compatible with most standard UK plug types. However, always check the manufacturer’s listing for specific compatibility details to ensure it matches your devices’ requirements.

Question 7

What should I consider when setting up this power strip?

Accepted Answer

When setting up, make sure all outlets are properly aligned and securely connected to avoid any damage or electrical hazards. It’s also important to arrange cables neatly to prevent tripping risks and maintain a tidy workspace.

Question 8

How does the 2m cable length affect its use?

Accepted Answer

The 2m cable length provides enough reach for most standard setups but might be too short if you need to extend it further. Consider this when positioning your devices, as longer cables can introduce additional electrical resistance and potential safety issues.

Question 9

Can I connect multiple high-power devices simultaneously?

Accepted Answer

While the power strip has 12 outlets, ensure that the total wattage of all connected devices does not exceed its maximum capacity to avoid overloading. Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the safe limit and distribute your devices accordingly.

Question 10

How do I clean and maintain this extension lead?

Accepted Answer

Regularly dust off any accumulated dirt or debris from the outlets and plug socket to keep them functioning properly. Avoid using harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surface. For deeper cleaning, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for specific care guidelines.
