Question 1

Is this keyboard compatible with both PC and Mac?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Ranked G65 Guardian is designed to work seamlessly with both PC and Mac systems. It uses standard USB connections, so you can plug it into any computer without needing additional adapters or software.

Question 2

What does "65%" mean for a keyboard layout?

Accepted Answer

The 65% layout refers to the reduced key count compared to a full-size keyboard. This design offers a more compact footprint and is particularly popular among users who prefer less clutter on their desk, especially those using smaller desks or working in tight spaces.

Question 3

Can I swap out the switches for different types?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! The keyboard supports hot-swappable Gateron Brown switches, allowing you to easily change the key actuation feel without needing to replace the entire keyboard. This feature is great for gamers who want to fine-tune their setup based on personal preference or gaming style.

Question 4

What kind of frame does this keyboard have?

Accepted Answer

The Ranked G65 Guardian features a full aluminum frame, which not only provides excellent durability and stability but also adds a premium feel to the keyboard. This material choice is common in high-end gaming keyboards due to its robustness and aesthetic appeal.

Question 5

How many keys are on this keyboard?

Accepted Answer

This keyboard has 68 keys arranged in a QWERTY ANSI US layout, which means it includes all standard alphanumeric characters plus some additional function keys. While it’s not full-size, the 68-key configuration is sufficient for most gaming and typing needs.

Question 6

What kind of backlighting does this keyboard have?

Accepted Answer

The keyboard offers RGB LED backlit keys, providing a customizable lighting experience that can enhance both functionality and aesthetics. You can adjust the color and brightness to match your preferences or create custom profiles for different activities.

Question 7

How do I set up my new keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Setting up is straightforward; simply plug the USB cable into your computer and start using it. For customization, you might need software from the manufacturer (check their website), which allows you to adjust backlighting, switch settings, and other features. Make sure to download this software before unboxing.

Question 8

Is this keyboard suitable for professional gaming?

Accepted Answer

While not specifically marketed as a professional-grade keyboard, the Ranked G65 Guardian is certainly capable of handling high-performance gaming tasks due to its durable build and hot-swappable switch capability. However, if you need absolute top-tier performance or specific features found in higher-end models, it might be worth considering those options.

Question 9

What should I consider when using this keyboard for extended periods?

Accepted Answer

When using the keyboard for long sessions, ensure that your workspace is ergonomically set up to avoid strain. The 65% layout can be more comfortable for some users due to its reduced size and key placement. Regularly cleaning the keys and keeping them free of debris will also help maintain performance.

Question 10

How does this keyboard compare to full-size keyboards?

Accepted Answer

Compared to full-size keyboards, the Ranked G65 Guardian offers a more compact design with fewer keys but retains essential functions. It’s ideal for users who prefer a smaller footprint or those working in limited space environments. While it may lack some of the additional features found on larger keyboards, its hot-swappable switches and RGB backlighting make it a versatile option for both gaming and general use.
