Question 1

Are these keycaps compatible with all types of mechanical keyboards?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps are designed to be compatible with most mechanical keyboards that use MX stems. However, it's always a good idea to check the specific model or consult the manufacturer’s listing for exact compatibility and stem type requirements.

Question 2

How do the PBT material keycaps compare to other types of keycaps?

Accepted Answer

PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) keycaps are known for their durability, as they resist wear and retain a consistent texture. This makes them ideal for frequent use in gaming or typing-intensive activities, unlike cheaper ABS keycaps which may become glossy over time.

Question 3

Can I use these keycaps with my existing keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if your keyboard uses MX stems, you can likely use these keycaps directly without any modifications. However, it’s important to ensure the keycap size and stem compatibility match your keyboard for a proper fit and function.

Question 4

What does the "double shot" in PrismCaps mean?

Accepted Answer

The term "double shot" refers to the manufacturing process where both sides of the keycap are injection-molded with PBT plastic. This results in a more durable and consistent feel, as opposed to single-shot keycaps which may have softer or inconsistent textures.

Question 5

How do the additional bottom row keycaps benefit me?

Accepted Answer

The inclusion of two extra sets of bottom row keycaps allows for greater flexibility when customizing your keyboard setup. You can choose different layouts or add more function keys, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality without needing to purchase separate keycaps.

Question 6

Are these keycaps easy to clean?

Accepted Answer

While PBT keycaps are durable, they can still collect dust and oils over time. Regular cleaning with a soft cloth or mild detergent can help maintain their appearance. Avoid using harsh chemicals that might damage the surface of the keycaps.

Question 7

How do the RGB lighting options work on these keycaps?

Accepted Answer

The PrismCaps come with enhanced RGB pudding-style lighting, which provides a bright and colorful glow under your keyboard. This feature allows for customization through software compatible with SteelSeries keyboards, enabling you to change colors and effects according to your preferences.

Question 8

Are there any specific care instructions I should follow?

Accepted Answer

To keep your keycaps looking their best, avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. Regularly clean the keycaps using a soft cloth or mild detergent solution. Avoid using abrasive materials that might scratch the surface of the PBT material.

Question 9

How do these keycaps fit into a typical gaming setup?

Accepted Answer

These keycaps are perfect for enhancing your gaming setup by providing a tactile and visual upgrade to your keyboard. The enhanced RGB lighting can help with quick color-coding or highlighting specific keys, making it easier to navigate menus or in-game settings.

Question 10

What if I need more than one set of keycaps?

Accepted Answer

If you decide that you want additional sets for different keyboards or prefer having extra keycaps on hand, you can purchase this product multiple times. The keycaps are interchangeable and will work with any compatible keyboard, allowing you to maintain a consistent look across your gaming setup.
