Update #4
Greetings Albedonite Hunters! In today’s update we introduce a new card type, Empowered Cards, which are boosted or gain additional effects by playing cards with the same icon. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35023802/d2123a31e66c8940ae784ffa3dec4927f04ccdb1.jpg In Albedon Wars players face tactical choices every turn, deciding which units to activate first and when to play cards. The strategic depth lies mainly in the control of zones: players manipulate the tempo and the pace of the game either investing in the future by accumulating resources or speeding up victory with a burst of points or a surprise kill. We wanted to add a layer of interaction between tactics and strategy, introducing a mechanic that would give players more flexibility during the game and make deckbuilding more engaging. These cards are boosted regardless of whether they are in your hand or still in your deck, and using an Empowered Card consumes all charges accumulated for that icon up to that point. Some improve with each card that is played before them, others get an enhanced effect after a certain number of cards have been played. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35023802/8a2ea51821eec86bfb4d23da037b3de383ede569.jpg Typically, their power level is slightly lower than cards with the same icon and the same cost, but if charged enough they can change the course of the game. They introduce not only a new level of decision-making, but also the possibility to overturn the course of the battle by investing on them and ruining the opponent's plans with devastating tempo swings. What are you waiting for? Explore Krenus in search of Empowered Cards and teach your arch-enemies a lesson! Update #1 released!
Welcome back, Albedonite Hunters! We are proud to announce that the new version of Albedon Wars is now available and includes many improvements. The game was released in Early Access last fall and since then we’ve had a lot of feedback. The setting and the game mechanics were very much appreciated by those who had the opportunity to explore the game in depth; others on the other hand weren’t able to enjoy them because they stopped playing early on, bugged by an overall lack of polishing and an underwhelming initial experience. We decided therefore to work in these months not only on new features, but also on making the Albedon Wars experience more enjoyable from the start, focusing on quality of life changes and polishing. To ensure a harmonious and satisfying result we had to work on several fronts in parallel, and we opted for a big single release instead of small incremental updates. New features and balance changes: new cards and mechanics new quests, some of them linked to known companions and characters a new PvP zone where hunters can discover multiplayer mechanics early on new companions and enemies to face a detailed Quest Journal to better keep track of your adventures in Krenus balancing of cards and skill trees based on new mechanics and feedback received {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35023802/2eecb6abdddd4a05e619416126ce37089565b29e.jpg Polishing and usability: aesthetical and functional redesign of menus, interfaces and character creation addition of tooltips and explanatory panels throughout the game a more immersive tutorial integrated within the story from the start {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/35023802/b995c702894350e27cfccfe86cfed3f988f8c4f6.jpg Download the new version to experience all the new features and stay tuned for more incoming updates and detailed insights! First week of Early Access
Greetings fellow Albedonite Hunters! We would like, first and foremost, to thank all our day one players. We are grateful for such a display of trust and enthusiasm. In a few days we received plenty of feedback that we are channelling in the game to make Albedon Wars the best experience it can be, this is the reason we are in Early Access after all! The more dedicated players have experienced and enjoyed the full scope of the strategy, the combat and the unique feeling of sharing a goal with a community. On the other hand, some of you have found the tutorial and the first part of the storyline to be a bit slow and some combat animations to be unnecessarily long. For all these reasons we already deployed a patch where we addressed some of those issues and we planned our future updates based on the feedback. There were also various errors with some texts and dialogues, we've addressed some of those and we'll continue to polish them as we progress through Early Access. Version 0.4.10 release notes: - Shortened various animations and removed some unnecessary delays in combat - Added a zone to deliver Albedonite in both starting cities - Adjusted some dungeon drops (with new cards!!!) - Cards balancing - Minor bug fixes - Fixes to texts and dialogues - Changed the sound options to be more precise Cards balancing in detail: - Fire Bomb: damage from 2 to 1-3 - Freezing Bomb: damage from 1 to 2 - Get Behind Me: cost from 3 to 2 - Light Bolt: rarity from Common to Uncommon Coming next: - UI and tooltips improvements - Rework of the initial experience, from the tutorial to a couple of hours in the main storyline: we are planning to make this part faster paced. - Access to the Eye of Hudral PVP Zone earlier in the storyline - Live Events - New QuestsRead full article on Community Announcements (Firemill Games)
