Embark on a color-matching adventure where precision and timing are key. In TripTrip, guide The Ball through eight challenging worlds by matching its color to the floor as you dodge obstacles and survive hazardous conditions.

About this game

TripTrip is a challenging autorunner with color-matching and platforming mixed together. Stay on track, dodge walls, and weather hazardous conditions - all while matching The Ball's color to the floor! Master switching between the four colors through more than 8 worlds of hand-crafted levels and intense boss battles!

Color-changing Action!

Switch your ball between Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green to match the floor's color and stay alive. You start out only alternating between two colors, but eventually you'll be switching through all four colors at once! It only takes a split-second of poor color choice before The Ball is toast...

Platforming!

Stay on track! Collect J Powerups to jump over gaps. Of course, the J Powerups are not in convenient locations, so you might have to work for them. You can even move in midair to extend or shorten your jumps, or move sideways.

Bosses!

At the end of each of the 8+ worlds, there is a boss waiting for you. Reflect shots back at The Rival in a multi-color tennis game, jump over The Brawler's rainbow shockwaves, outlast The Trickster in a fiery dance of death - and more! Every boss stage has new surprises in store that will put your skills to the test.

Difficulties!

TripTrip is a challenging game that only gets harder. Players struggling with the Normal difficulty can opt for "Easy". On Easy difficulty, you're given a Life meter that depletes a little every time you would have died in the Normal difficulty. This is a great way to learn the game without being punished harshly for mistakes; however, there are some secrets that can only be unlocked by playing on Normal or above...

Secrets!

When playing on Normal or above, you are shown a Bonus meter. The meter rewards you for performing a certain task while playing. If you fill the meter in a given world, you get a chance to unlock the mysterious "Token" for that world. What is the secret of the Tokens? Legends speak of a mystical altar on the other side of a rainbow storm deep in space...perhaps there is a connection?

Music!

The game features a catchy, authentic retro soundtrack with 19 tracks. Each world has a theme, along with boss music and some other secret tracks.

Controls!

The game can be played using either a keyboard or a gamepad. The gamepad controls are mapped for an Xbox 360 controller by default, but any button can be rebound to anything. We prefer playing on keyboard, but if you're a gamepad fan more power to you!

Note about Color Blindness

If you experience any form of color blindness, you should carefully consider the trailer and screenshots on this page before purchasing the game. Color matching is a core aspect of the game, and there is no color-blind-friendly mode at this time.

    Windows Slowdown Patch

TripTrip Windows Patch It's been a while Hey there everyone! It's been a while. TripTrip's been out for almost 3 years now! Hard to believe. Windows, y u do dis Recently, it was brought to my attention that the game was only running at like 45fps instead of the 60fps it should have. That 45 fps is not just the framerate of the game, it's also the room speed in GameMaker - everything was running in slow motion! This made the game frighteningly easy... and we can't have that. But more importantly, it caused some stuff with very specific timings to stop working properly. If you're curious about the bug, there's some info about it over on YoyoGames' legacy GameMaker forums. By the way... As far as we know, no player has yet to reach the "Good Ending" of the game. This requires you to beat the game on Normal difficulty or higher after collecting all 9 bonus tokens. Check out this random screenshot from the Good ending. How crazy is this?! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32810877/3809355e8e2d5e796540f1fdccd79e8450cd5dd7.png It's pretty crazy. Whoa, check out this guy: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32810877/04be100b9bbb4e4119fdd88e672dccca58c17a9a.gif Who the heck is that? Guess you'll have to beat the Good Ending to find out. If you send a screenshot of you beating the game's Good Ending to the About Airplane Twitter, I'll give you a shoutout to this audience (small as it is). I may even subscribe to your Twitch or something. Who knows. We'll see! Anyway Thanks for playing our game to whatever capacity you did play it. I think this post shows up for Wishlisters too. If you Wishlisted this game, thanks for that too! You're great. Are you somehow reading this without having bought or wishlisted the game? You're great too. Everyone's great. Hello everyone! TripTrip is available in the Lunar New Year sale for 66% off! I hear that the sale has some pretty cool events going on. While you're shopping around, head over to our store page to check out a new trailer we put together in time for this event. It shows off a lot more of the game's variety and features a super cool musical medley. The Moon makes a cameo in World 5 of TripTrip! Go pay your respects (while the skies around Shade Keep are clear anyway...) Happy Lunar New Year!

TripTrip price drop, 1000 players, and more soundtrack!

Hello friends! TripTrip has been out for two months now! The IndieGala bundle wrapped up recently and it was great to have so many players brought to our game. We hope everyone is having fun with it! After the bundle we crossed over 1000 steam activations. Obviously being in a bundle contributes a lot to that but it's really cool seeing so many people own the game. Thank you to everyone for joining us on the adventure of our first game release. After the bundle, we brought the price of the game down to $2.99. We think that this is a much better reflection of the game's value, particularly after just being available in a bundle. If you were on the fence about buying, now's a great time! Finally, we've uploaded most of the tracks from the soundtrack to our YouTube channel! Some of my personal favorite tracks are up there now like Semper Pergendum and An Ultimatum. Remember, if you like the soundtrack, it's available as DLC! That's all for now. Thanks for playing!

    Welcome IndieGala players! + bugfixes

Hey there! TripTrip is included in a recent bundle from IndieGala, and with that we've had a huge number of key activations. Welcome to the party, I hope you enjoy the game :) In preparation for the IndieGala promotion, I did some work in the code to try to fix a long-running bug. If you played the game and experienced a random crash while fighting a boss or during the power unlock screen, I think we finally tracked down the cause of that. I haven't had one happen in a while! If you experience one starting today, please let us know so we can keep digging into it. And finally, don't forget about the soundtrack DLC ;) we love the soundtrack, and we think you will too! We've uploaded a few of the tracks on YouTube if you want a sample. So long!
