"Welcome back to the Afterlife, Ki. Let's get you to the Evergate, and back to Earth"
When a lost soul named "Ki" awakens in the afterlife, her path back to earth is blocked by the ‘Evergate’. To return home, Ki must decipher her mysterious connection to kindred spirit as she navigates through memories of a time once past.
Navigate through each new memory via 85 challenging stages. Harness the ‘Soulflame’ mechanic, unlock new abilities and find your own creative ways to reach each end gate.
This ancient power of the Afterlife allows Ki to slow down time, take aim and fire a beam of energy at white surfaces known as "The Source".
Use your Soulflame to smash through the mysterious crystals scattered throughout each memory. Unleash their power to soar to new heights, reach the unreachable and safely navigate perilous environments. Hit multiple crystals at once to combined their energies and find new creative ways to reach the end gate.
Rise to the challenge and collect "Essences" by reaching all the areas within each memory. Use them to unlock ancient artefacts and boost Ki's attributes. Move faster, jump higher and harness even greater powers!
Gorgeous hand-drawn visuals and an elegantly orchestrated soundtrack - recorded by a live orchestra - immerse players in the Afterlife and bring dreams, nightmares and spirits alive in stunning detail.
Stone Lantern Games is a Boston-based studio comprised of 4 MIT graduates. Like a gamer choosing a character class, each engineer on the team specializes in one of four proficiencies: Visual Effects, Art, Music, or Narrative.

Hi everyone, If you've played Evergate, you'll know that the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack plays a huge role in immersing players in the afterlife. To that end, we hope you'll consider nominating Evergate for the Best Soundtrack category in the official Steam Awards! Steam's own description of the "Best Soundtrack" award: "This unsung hero deserves to be recognized for its outstanding musical score. It's the OST with the MOST!" You can use the widget above to nominate Evergate! The Evergate Original Soundtrack by M.R. Miller is a beautiful accompaniment to the game's heartwarming fairy tale about two kindred spirits, their falling apart and coming back together. The music of Evergate was inspired by the composer's daughter. When she was born, he wrote her a lullaby and built her a music box to play it. That lullaby became the main theme for Ki and the underlying fabric of the entire score. The soundtrack features many talented live musicians, including shimmering layers of electroacoustic harp (Lara Somogyi), a gorgeous live string orchestra (FAMES Project) and a haunting women's choir. Guzheng (Kathy Qianqian Jin) and liuqin (Leng Yijing) ripple through Ki's life in China and katajjaq throat singing (Nina Segalowitz) evokes her life in Alaska.
