About this game
-Join our Discord channel to give feedback, download mods and learn about upcoming updates! Let’s make NavalArt more enjoyable, together!
-Building NavalArt is a true labor of love. As an indie dev, my vision was simple but massive: to craft the definitive PC naval sandbox. It's been a long voyage since our 2018 Early Access launch, and I couldn't have weathered it without the phenomenal support of this community. Every piece of your feedback has shaped the hull of this game. Thank you for believing in this project. I'll always welcome your thoughts in the Steam discussions as we continue to perfect the experience.
Game Description:
-NavalArt is a sandbox game that combines design, construction, physics, and combat, offering players a variety of experience in different stages. Players will play as designer, engineer, and commander, respectively, and guide their fleets through the ages of steel and nerve.
Gameplay
-As a player, you will construct your warships in dock, using parts offered by the game or the mod community. Through careful placing and adjusting of parts, with an incredibly high degree of freedom, you can shape your warships to anything you like, from overall hull shapes, to tiny anchor chains.
-Each property is critical to your design, as different armor & weapon layouts will have different effects. Take your unfinished/newly finished ships for trials, and see if it is satisfactory.
-In Quick Battles and Operations, utilize a vast arsenal of weapons spanning from the 19th to the 21st century—including naval guns, torpedoes, carrier-based aircraft, missiles, and more—to annihilate your enemies, complete missions, and claim victory.
-Arm your ship with Anti-Air weapons, including Phalanx CIWS, try to survive in the test scene after several waves of air strikes!
-Experience unique RTS-style Aircraft Carrier gameplay, where altitude is a crucial resource for your warplanes. Configure your squadrons, assign specializations, seize air superiority, and launch devastating aerial strikes against the enemy fleet.
-Walk around your ships as a fellow sailor in Gallery Mode, lineup your fleet and enjoy the parade from your flagship!
-Not in the mood of designing ships? Want more parts to use in the game? Don't forget to visit NavalArt's Steam Workshop to get thousands of warship designs and mods!

NavalArt update V1.52 Damage Model Rework and Graphics Upgrade
ForewordGreetings, fellow NA players! This is a minor update. We have primarily focused on continuous improvements and adjustments to existing features, along with several bug fixes.Update Frequency Adjustment To improve update efficiency and stability, we have adjusted our game update strategy. Future versions will be released through high-frequency, smaller updates, and we will open up public test branches more often. This approach aims to reduce situations where unstable new content is pushed to players due to rushed, large-scale mechanic updates. There are no new parts in this version. The introduction frequency for new parts will remain similar to older versions, at approximately once a month. (Credit: LakV)Damage Model ReworkBalancing high freedom in ship design with accurate damage calculation is no easy task. The new mechanics aim to further resolve and improve known damage issues, including the excessive survivability of small boats and the inability of armor to protect non-module hull parts against blast spheres. The new calculation model includes the following features:When calculating explosion damage per part, the system will query and collect armor layers that obstruct the explosion path to the current part, treating them as additional armor protection for that part. Each layer of additional armor protection will apply a damage attenuation calculation to the explosion damage.Introduced the concept of a damage immunity threshold in armor damage attenuation: thick armor can now completely immunize against and block lower amounts of damage.Increased the explosion radius of shells, especially for small-caliber High Explosive (HE) shells.Increased the minimum damage applied after a single part's HP is completely depleted. (This diagram is for reference only and will not appear in-game)Other adjustments:Immune or already destroyed parts no longer participate in explosion damage distribution.Module parts that have been damaged and repaired will no longer contrib...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zhesheng_1818)Patch NotesOfficial
Beta Version Update 1904
You can switch to the publictest branch via Steam's Betas menu to access the 1.52 Beta.Patch Notes:Quick Sortie Campaign: Hornet's NestAdded: English localization.Adjusted: Replaced enemy aircraft carrier placeholders with dedicated saved ship designs.PrologueAdjusted: Further reduced the likelihood of collisions between M5 AI ships.Damage ModelAdjusted: Increased the torpedo damage modifier against modules.Adjusted: Significantly increased armor damage reduction against explosive shockwaves (excluding torpedoes and depth charges).GraphicsUpgraded matte, semi-gloss, and glossy material textures.Improved overall game lighting and shadows.Known Issues:Under the current mechanics, when a module is disabled, it inflicts significant damage on the ship's total HP pool. Once the disabled module is automatically repaired, disabling it again will repeatedly inflict significant damage on the HP pool.As a result, when High Explosive (HE) shells repeatedly hit the superstructure, ship survivability may become excessively poor. This issue will be fixed in tomorrow's update.Read full article on Community Announcements (Zhesheng_1818)AnnouncementsOfficial
NavalArt 1.52 Public Beta is Now Live!
You can enter version 1.52 Beta by selecting the publictest branch via Steam's Betas tab.Estimated Beta Duration: 1 dayKey highlights of this update:Shell Damage and Damage Model ReworkNew mechanics have been implemented to further address and improve known damage issues, such as excessive survivability of smaller vessels and armor failing to protect non-modular hulls against blast spheres. The new calculation model features:Per-Part Blast Damage Calculation: The system queries and collects armor layers obstructing the blast path to a given part, applying them as additional armor protection for that specific part.Layered Attenuation: Each additional layer of armor protection calculates a separate attenuation pass on the blast damage.Immunity Threshold: Introduced a damage immunity threshold to armor attenuation calculations—thick armor can now completely block or negate lower-level damage.Expanded Blast Radius: Increased shell blast radius, particularly for small-caliber High Explosive (HE) shells.Depleted HP Minimum Damage: Increased the minimum damage dealt after an individual part's HP is completely depleted.(This diagram is for reference only and will not appear in-game)Prologue Adjustments & Fixes\ Added mission failure conditions for M1, M2, and M3 in the Prologue if the player ship unexpectedly sinks.\ Added highlighted rich text to the cease-fire prompt in Prologue M3 and optimized the Chinese localization descriptions.\ Added missing victory/defeat text across all Prologue levels.\ Optimized collision avoidance detection for the enemy cruiser in M5, which now also applies to player ships.\ Changed the deletion guide arrow in the building tutorial to red.\ Added a step-by-step tutorial flow for switching Career campaigns.\ The Prologue campaign battleship New Rubico is now awarded as an M3 level completion reward to prevent issues where skipping the tutorial resulted in the ship not being granted. (Requires uncompleted M3 status or a new save).Bow Wave Effect...Read full article on Community Announcements (Zhesheng_1818)AnnouncementsOfficial
Steam Cloud Save Security Warning
The current NavalArt save system does not support separating save data by Steam account. There is only a single local save file shared by all users on the same computer. If you launch the game using multiple Steam accounts on the same computer while Steam Cloud Saves is enabled, the local save data may be overwritten by an empty cloud save uploaded by another account. This action cannot be undone.【If you regularly use multiple Steam accounts on the same device, DO NOT launch NavalArt from another account!!!】It has been confirmed that even after disabling Steam Cloud Saves and restarting Steam, your save data may still be overwritten by a blank save!!!Under any circumstances, we still strongly recommend that players regularly make manual backups of their local save data.We are currently developing a system to separate save data by Steam account. To ensure compatibility between the new save system and older versions of the game, we need additional time for design and internal testing. We cannot rush out a fix at the cost of exposing more players to the risk of losing their saves. The new account-based save isolation system is expected to enter public testing as early as next week and will be officially enabled after its security and reliability have been verified.Read full article on Community Announcements (Zhesheng_1818)
