Smart AI Update is LIVE
Hello all! At last the update is live! Now you can have our major update which changes the AI system of the game complelety. https://i.ibb.co/NKrQnd6/ZIIVwb.gif When you start to download, you'll see that it's massive in size. It's because we have also changed the design of all the levels for this new system. So the game must be updated with most of the content. Now both you and the AI will have lots of places to hide and cover. You can use these places for your combat tactics. And be careful, now AI can think of these tactics too. In addition to this we have made several adjustements for game balance such as damage and weapon values. Weapon Station's weapon prices were also changed. There was a bug about the shield not regenerating in a given time so we fixed it too. We have been working on this nearly for more than a month. We hope you like our new system and have great fun playing the game. This update has been made with the help of your suggestions. So once again, we want to thank you for all your support and feedback. Please feel free to tell us your new suggestions and issues (if you encounter any). We'd more than happy to help. Here is the video from last week's update: Thanks and have fun! Ismail Kemal Ciftcioglu Co-founder & DirectorRead full article on Community Announcements (Wanderer)Patch NotesOfficial

We believe with the new AI behaviours and game balance improvements, The Stranger VR will have a completely new experience. This system was made and implemented thanks to your valuable feedbacks. Whole gameplay and balance were re-designed and updated for this new AI system. We believe the fun and surprise elements of the new AI system will make The Stranger VR a more fun and a more satisfying experience. Until next week, here is a short video of what's to come: See you next week! Ismail Kemal Ciftcioglu Co-founder & DirectorRead full article on Community Announcements (Wanderer)Patch NotesOfficial
Update on Smart AI
Hello all! I wanted to give you an update about what we're doing with our new AI system. So far everything's going as planned and smooth as possible. We're not also adapting our old smart system to the VR but also further upgrading it with better systems for a great experience. When we release this update we think there will be a significant change in the gameplay as we are also updating damage and health values of all the AIs and weapons. These AIs will be able to hide, cover, regroup, throw grenades, suicide on you and move to tactical positions to positions so they will be much tougher to kill but we expect it to be much more fun than the actual systems for players who want more realistic and hardcore experiences. Here is a test video of AI in action taken directly from Unreal Editor (sorry for poor video quality) : The test phase will start this week so we expect to make it live very soon if we don't encounter anything weird. So stay tuned:) Thank you for all your feedback and suggestions! Ismail Kemal Ciftcioglu Co-founder & DirectorRead full article on Community Announcements (Wanderer)AnnouncementsOfficial
Smart AI Announcement and New Features
Hello again everyone! I'd like to share more details about upcoming new features that I told you in our Index Patch announcement. Since the announcement was about Valve Index, I thought most people who have no interest in Index didn't see it. As you see, since day 1, we have always been listening to you and spending our time on working with game balance, new features, changes and fixes. Thanks to your incredible feedback, we were able to take The Stranger to another level with more options and features. Now here are some features that we're working right now to include in our upcoming patches: SMART AI Originally we begun The Stranger as a non-VR open world FPS project. We have created an advanced AI with voice recognition technology. Our aim was to create a Multiplayer experience in a Single Player game. We were planning to include a VR option as well. Then we saw that graphical limitations and the whole VR gaming experience is much more different than a regular PC shooter gameplay, we decided to create the VR version of Stranger first. Here is a Pre-Alpha environment video of the project. Maybe you can spot familiar environments from The Stranger VR as well: https://youtu.be/MaXGITAXexU And this was a concept trailer created from an early version of the game: https://youtu.be/Se5nI5EE29U After we start the VR version, most common feedback we have received from testers were about the AI. They said it wasn't so much fun because it's too hard to play. Because our AI back then had features like cover, group, flee, regroup, throw grenades, make suicide attempts, fall back and strike again; they said it was too tiring to kill them thus eliminating the fun element. We were wrong to accept this statement and made our AI less smarter to ease the gameplay of the VR version. We thought that most comfortable VR shooting experience can be achieved with an AI that don't move so much and don't force us to move 360 degree to make strategy, cover etc. That's why we have created an...Read full article on Community Announcements (Wanderer)Patch NotesOfficial
Valve Index Support Patch
Hello again everyone! As you know, our game needed an Index support but we couldn't afford them. But we have found a way! We have found a VR Cafe in the city which has Index devices. We introduced ourselves and they said ok for a full day rent of a device and a testing room. Though we also needed our own computers so we established ourselves to their storage & server room and worked there for a day to create our Index Support Patch :) https://i.ibb.co/r4GWBrv/002.jpg So here we are. With the Index patch we also introduced new Graphics and Comfort Options. Here is the full list: - Now we support Valve Index headset and controllers. - If you use Index controllers, you can change your hand grip's degree in the Comfort Options. - We have updated our device detection system thus edited our Tutorial images. Now only the device you are using can be seen on Tutorial images. That gives a more clear and understandable UI. - The Options is divided into three categories. Sound, Graphics and Comfort. - The visuals are more crisp now. But you can also edit Anti-Alising settings in the Graphics Options for your liking. - We have added a Bloom settings to Graphics Options. You can adjust Bloom or turn it off completely. Ok so what's in for future? These are things we have discussed and are making now for future patches: - Smarter AI: Originally, our AI system was much more advanced and smart. But we have decided to make it extremely basic. Because the testers we have tested the game thought the AI was too hard to kill and struggle in VR and they said it's no fun. So in order to ease the gameplay and higher the fun element, we basically made our AI less intelligent. But after we saw your comments about the AI system we decided to introduce the original system to you. Of course that will be a choice you can set in the Options so we will not be forcing anyone into a more harder game. But this is one of the most important things we are working now. - Double weapons: We will be starting...Read full article on Community Announcements (Wanderer)
