Laser Ball

About this game

In this fast and furious game, you play as the last employee left in a hazardous electric company where big bouncing balls have gotten into a short circuited panel!

You'll need to race against time to use a neutralizing laser gun to shoot the colored balls, matching the ball you shoot to the border color. Once you neutralize that ball and turn it white in color, that ball and only that ball is safe for you to touch and collect and deposit in the collection basket.

The action heats up as you progress, getting more and more chaotic and should offer plenty of fun and replay value!

Laser Ball is my recreation of an old Commodore 64 type in classic action arcade game I enjoyed as a teenager. It was originally published in Compute! magazine (Oct 1985) and was called 'Laser Beam".

Controls:

W, A, S, D or Arrow Keys - Used to move your character.

Left Click on Mouse [or] SPACE Bar - Used to deposit collected balls in deposit basket

From the Control Panel:

Left Mouse/Right Mouse Buttons: Used to Rotate your neutralizing gun around the room

SPACE BAR - Used to shoot a neutralizing laser beam at the bouncing balls

Left Stick - to move your character.

A Button - to deposit balls in the deposit basket

From the Control Panel:

L1 or L2 AND R1 or R2 or right stick can be used to rotate your laser gun around the room

  UPDATE 1.23 - Small Tweaks Per User Feedback & Possible Complete Overhaul Coming

  Hello, this update is the first for Laser Ball in a long time and is here now per the suggestions and feedback of Steam user Mihailovich on the feedback forums recently. In this update, I've decreased the size of the deposit bin hit box so that it hopefully no longer feels as if you can "throw" a ball into the bin from very far away. For any players who've played this game in the past, you may now just need to be sure you move your character a little closer to the deposit bin before being able to drop the ball in. I've also changed the deposit area so that when you are needing to shoot the ball, it shows the color of your "target ball" here as well as the border of the screen as seen here: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32345131/252892ddd832278baea963b19bf1f1ed1441b87d.jpg When you've already shot and neutralized the target ball and picked it up, the bottom deposit ball area now simply tells you to "deposit the ball here" with an arrow as seen here: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32345131/6ad0d5a5bb5de5d296c8e3842ea7f4035f076a84.jpg I MAY DO A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THIS GAME FROM SCRATCH IN THE COMING MONTHS: When I made these changes to the code today, I couldn't help but notice how much my coding skills have developed since I developed this game way back in early 2018. This game launched in March of 2018, so I have decided that I might just work on a complete overhaul of this game in time for a "5 Year Anniversary" of my original Laser Ball launch. If I do an overhaul of this game, I believe it would be a much improved version of what I did nearly five years ago now. Laser Ball was only my 2nd Steam game release, and now I have 10 Steam games under my belt. I've learned a lot since I coded this game and would love to see how much I could improve this game with a complete rebuild.   Price Increase from $2.99 USD to $4.99 Effective Immediately

  Hello everyone... Laser Ball continues to be my best selling indie game here on Steam and has seen many good changes since I first brought it to Steam back in March of 2018. When I first announced the generator repairs as "coming soon" and gave Laser Ball a massive overhaul back in March of this year with update 1.20, I did announce back then that this game would see a price increase from $1.99 to $4.99 USD. When I put out the generator repair update, I decided to do a slower, more gradual price increase and went up to $2.99 then and now this game will go up to the $4.99 USD price I announced was coming almost six months ago. I believe that Laser Ball is a super fun, relentless action game that is VERY unique on Steam today. There is no other game quite like it and I firmly believe that this new higher price still delivers a very high value with the crazy high replay value that Laser Ball offers. Happy gaming everyone!
