About this game
Amelia's Curse is a first-person shooter built from the ground up for Virtual Reality. Experience environments ranging from murky mining shafts to deep sewers where enemies linger in the dark waiting for their chance to strike.
Free exploration
Stand-still wave shooters are a thing of the past. With Amelia's Curse, you explore massive levels that can be retraced at any point in time to find loot and other hidden experiences.
Survival Horror
You must stock up on ammo, upgrades, and more as you scavenge throughout the vast levels of the castle.
Terrifying ambiance and monsters
Every level and enemy has been designed to create more fear than any VR shooter out there.
Upgrade your gear between levels
Replayability is a key feature in Amelia's Curse. Between levels and playthroughs, you can upgrade many aspects of your character to increase your survival time. Furthermore, nearly every weapon you purchase in-game has a special ultimate ability that can be used to take out large hordes of monsters very quickly.
Weapon Customization
Experience a large array of different weapon types, from staffs and crossbows, to swords and guns.
Swarmed by enemies
Forget seeing the same zombies over and over again. Experience procedurally-generated monsters and flying spiders that get more difficult as you progress.
Realistic low-poly graphics
Optimization is huge for VR, but often at the cost of the graphical experience. With Amelia's Curse, you will experience a great frame rate with no graphical sacrifice, as every artistic aspect has been designed specifically for high-resolution displays.
Hidden Story
Find and collect Amelia's paper notes scattered along the way to gain personal insight towards her plight. What exactly happened in that castle?

Gameplay Details: Enemies and Movement
Two of the most common questions we get are 1) How many monster types are there? and 2) Do you use teleportation or artificial locomotion? Short answer to the first question: We currently have 6 monster types, 4 of them humanoids, while the other two are spiders. The monster types have minor procedural differences that greatly impact their health, speed, and damage while also varying in size to the point where some are outright massive. And by massive, we mean that you can literally hear its pounding footsteps as it inches closer. But don’t forget to look down, as there are small spiders that tend to quickly sneak up on you. Meanwhile, there are rare Legendary Spiders about the size of a car that tend to pack quite the punch. Oh, and they fly. https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/32097359/1cac7618e6531fb817d4964f7d931f9af7dd4fc7.jpg https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/32097359/aa3f2b80c5c4d814553788964daedff1314332c3.jpg In regards to movement, we plan to have BOTH teleportation and artificial locomotion available as options. This is because while teleportation is the standard way of avoiding motion sickness, we also understand that some people simply prefer the smooth motion. So we're happy to satisfy both groups. This involved many painstaking hours of polishing our navigation mesh, but at least it was made with love. Thank you for your continued support as release comes closer!Read full article on Community Announcements (Mars)
