Patch 0.2.0 - 18 February 2020
Hey, everyone! We've finally hit game version 0,2,0 of Zyxia: Neon Termination... But what does that mean? What's New? Well, it means that several technical quality of life changes have been made and are available now... and that some much more exciting new features are going to be arriving soon. Today, you can quickly and easily update your button mapping on both keyboard and gamepad controllers from within the options menu, and they will be shown correctly in button prompts for interacting with objects and next to your currently equipped weapons. Additionally, at any time during gameplay, you can swap between keyboard and gamepad controls by pressing any button on either control scheme. Handy. What's Next? With this update, the way many functions of ZNT operate under hood have been updated. This update has laid the foundation for many features to arrive soon, the biggest one being Local Multiplayer. In the near future, however, you can expect content updates including new weapons, a ton of new sound effects, new visual effects, new creatures, and even new variations on the aliens that already exist. All that, in addition to quality of life adjustments, most notably working towards full controller support. I hope you look forward to continued updates. Good luck surviving the swarm in Zyxia: Neon Termination!Read full article on Community Announcements (Knight and Ninja Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.1.92 - 22 January 2020
Hey again everyone. Still working on a major update which will be available soon, but in the meantime, here are a couple of quality of life updates. UI Font Update In line with the updated text styling in buttons added in the previous update, most of the general font across the entire game has been updated to be more visually clear and consistent with the style of the rest of the game. It looks a lot better and cleaner. Chargeseeker Effect Update The Chargeseeker was a new weapon added a few updates ago. At first blush, it is an inferior version of the automatic weapons already present such as the Machine Gun or the Sub-Machine Gun. However, it actually increases in power with each enemy it hits. To help make this more visually clear, it now as an added electrical effect around the projectiles. More updates coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned. Good luck surviving the swarm in Zyxia: Neon Termination!Read full article on Community Announcements (Knight and Ninja Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.1.91 - 8 January 2020
Hope everyone had a great holiday time! Now that it's a new year, we can settle back into things with a small new update for ZNT. New Menu Text The first thing you will probably notice is a new look to all the text in the main menu. Of course, as soon as you start playing a game, this text can also be seen in the game gUI for the points and wave indicators. It may seem like a small change, but it really adds more life to the menu, especially when what came before was drab and boring black text with a simple, single tone outline. Coral Planet Environment In addition to all the pretty new UI elements, the Coral Planet map has received a few visual updates. In particular, the placeholder doors that were previously in place there have been replaced with something more fitting of the theme: Tube-worm gates. That map is actually starting to feel like its namesake now! Near-Future Teaser I hope you enjoy these additions to ZNT, and I promise I have something big coming up very soon. Unfortunately, it's big enough that I have been working on these new systems in a different version of the game project in GameMaker, and until I can guarantee that it won't break everything, I won't be making major additions to ZNT. Ideally, the updates until this big one will include stuff that can be easily transferred between my different game projects. However, I assure you, it will be worth it, and it looks like we are on course for it to be done in time for the next update slot! Stay tuned, and happy hunting in ZNT!Read full article on Community Announcements (Knight and Ninja Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 0.1.9 - 11 December 2019
Balancing and Screen Shake Hey, it's been a while. You feeling well today? Good, me too. Today I'm bringing you a pretty small update to ZNT, and some news about the update schedule for ZNT. As you may or may not know, Knight and Ninja Games, the developer of Zyxia: Neon Termination, is a one person operation. Unfortunately, I had some medical issues plague my life for the last month, so getting time to work on updates has been remarkably difficult. Not to worry though, things are settled down at this point, and I have been hard at work on some new content for ZNT! Update Schedule News It isn't all ready yet, but this little snag so early in Neon Termination's Early Access time period has gotten me to reconsider my content release schedule. Starting right now (with this update), ZNT will return to a bi-weekly update release schedule. However, instead of specifying beforehand what kind of update each will be, I will be naming them based on the content provided. This means that if something takes an unexpectedly long time to finish, I can stop for a few days and work on something smaller to make sure that there is always something new to add to the game on a regular basis during Early Access. If you want specific dates for updates, I will be providing those in the Steam Discussions Forums for ZNT, so be sure to check it out. Update Content Enough of that boring stuff, what's new today? This patch is bringing with it some balancing changes. Most creatures have had their health reduced by a significant amount, and several of the weapons have had their damage increased by an equally significant amount. This means that it is easier than ever to shred through the swarms of Zyxia! To top it all off, the starting weapon has been modified to do much higher damage... but only to the first enemy it hits. Specifically, its damage value gets reduced every time it hits an enemy. This makes it much more valuable earlier in the game, but it pretty quickly loses its edge to other wea...Read full article on Community Announcements (Knight and Ninja Games)
