    Rifts in the Veil III

Unfortunately, I am unable to resolve the issue surrounding Mastery Effects, so they have been pulled from all tooltips. This act prompted an overhaul of the Mastery Effect system. Additionally, another rift is available in the Veil - this one takes Ruby back to the Unknown Realm and allows battling some familiar enemies from the Zodiac Overwatch. These new battlegroups have significantly upgraded drop rates relative to their Zodiac Overwatch counterparts in addition to dropping a new unique reagent. The vendor which sells the Aries Gem will now sell a shield with +10% damage resist in exchange for the item from the 9th Veil rift boss. To make this vendor spawn, you must complete the entire Zodiac Overwatch and visit him near the entrance without leaving. Once you leave, progress is reset and he despawns. This update is available immediately.8.5.2.0 - Rifts in the Veil IIINEW- The 9th Veil rift is available which unlocks another vendor in the area.SKILL & MASTERY CHANGES- Due to some Mastery effects behaving unpredictably, their details have been removed from all tooltips.- Abilities with both a % and flat damage adjustment through mastery have had one of them removed and the other strengthened. -- Abilities without a damage or healing formula were not affected.-- Mastery effects already learned are committed to the character and cannot be unlearned or adjusted on the fly. These updates only apply to future mastery levels gained.-- If x% was

Rifts in the Veil - 8.5.0.0 Update

Pre-emptive TLDR; This update does not change the player experience or any non-Veil location, but does address a few bugs and overlooked changes that were meant to happen previously.I've never forgotten about the concept "The Pit" ever since I had to remove it from the game. I've always wanted to restore a functional version of it while making it more meaningful to do. Today we're taking a step in that direction. Cross of Auria version 8.5.0.0 adds a new section to the bottom part of the Veil. This new path leads to new battles ascending in level, starting at level 5 and ending (for now) at level 30. This area introduces four rift types:Blue Rifts - Contain fiends not native to Revan who drop special crafting materials unique to this Veil event.Yellow Rifts - Contain mini locations Ruby will need to traverse to stop the threat.Red Rifts - Contain fiends native to Revan from other periods in time.Green Rifts - Contain corrupted and veilspawned combatants. For now, only the enemies inside yellow rifts are one and done. Everything else is repeatable. With sufficient progress, new vendors become temporarily available until you buy their stock at which point they disappear. This challenge can begin as soon as Ruby has access to the Veil, and the level of the enemy is not necessarily indicative of Ruby's required level to participate. After the first six rifts, blockers are currently in place for the next created but unused section. I intend to extend this challenge to enemies level 50 at least.Sidebar, I ran a test on this location with my 65+hour save file and completely annihilated everything. This same file has a mild struggle with the end-of-game world bosses that appear. In doing so, I learned two things. (1) - Though released untested, the world bosses can be defeated. (2) - The effectiveness of participating in this event diminishes relative to how much higher of a level Ruby is than the enemies and rewards.Because of those conclusions, I intend to immediately star...

Updating Nightwarden & Chaotic Soul [8.4.3.0]

Part of making game2 involves going through every single map and seeing if there's anything I can reuse. While combing through, I noticed a texture that allowed players to escape the map and then become stuck. This update addresses that and also adds some major changes to Ruby's summoned monsters.8.4.3.0 NotesChaotic Soul class now has Horseman Bane as an attack element.Nightwarden class can now learn all physical poison skills except Snakelashing via Learn Skills menu.Chaotic Soul & Nightwarden class now resist Fascination and Poisonfear.Tamed Rattler class is now partially resistant to Agility debuffs.Chaotic Soul class is now partially resistant to Magic Attack debuffs.Nightwarden class is now partially resistant to Attack debuffs.Fixed a broken texture in Raphael's Tower Area which allowed players to escape from the map.

Status Pages, Branding Update & a Sneak Peak into Game2

Last night, I completely altered all of the Steam-based artwork surrounding Cross of Auria and its DLC packages. This includes everything on the store all the way down to the game icon. Today, while working on Game2, I came up with a theme to move forward with for the Status and Elements pages. The elements page now shows up to 2 icons per element: the "physical attack is this element" and general element icon. You may have become familiar with some of these via the updated ability tooltips over the last few weeks. The status page now includes all of the Breaks, has removed Shear which was for the last few weeks listed on that page as "Deprecated" with a minus sign, and better reflects some of the newer icons. You can find these changes in the menu, Status -> Elements & Status -> States. You may notice that Arcane and Psychic share a general icon. I'm not going to adjust that between now and the end. It'll just be one of those weird quirks that stems from not thinking things all the way through 9 years ago when it was first implemented and now its too late to do anything about it. A sneak peak into Game2... Speaking of psychic... Psychic, Dragon, and Ghost are leaving as elements as we move into Game2, but their concepts are staying. Psychic attacks utilize the opposite stat, mag for physical attacks and atk for magical attacks, which will be kept as a concept but not an element in Game2. Ghost will fall in with Dark and Soul where applicable. Dragon is outright eliminated, disseminating their skills across other elements and relying primarily on Physical as an element.I've already come up with a much better way to handle weapons and armor. Rather than each weapon be its own type (Dagger, Sword, Katana, Axe, etc), the system-based types will be One-Hand, Two-Hand, and Dual-Wield for Game2. Similarly with armor - Light, Medium, & Heavy have been retained while oddballs like "Cloak", "Scabbard", "Ring", etc have all been dropped. Combined with what I now know about mak...
