About this game
Master a Unique Blend of Combat and Platforming
In Overclocked, one hit means death. Gameplay is divided into short levels that routinely throw new obstacles at the player. In order to survive, you must learn to adapt to these challenges. To thrive, you must master the controls and your ability to fight.
Finding the main story too easy? Each stage has a bonus objective waiting to be conquered. Complete enough of these bonus objectives and you’ll unlock brutally difficult challenge levels that will put even the best players to the test.
Uncover a Mystery Threatening your Home
Each episode in Overclocked is driven forward by a compelling story of intrigue and danger. Follow Amber as she and her friends work together to hunt down the source of a virus that is taking control of the people around them.
For the players who just want to get to the gameplay, or for those who are working towards 100% completion, turn on Speedrun Mode and flow through the game without distractions.
Challenge Others for Top Scores
Each stage has its own unique leaderboard, allowing you to compete against your friends and the Overclocked community for the fastest times.
Overclocked tracks your fastest game completion time and submits it to a global leaderboard. Beat the game to see how you stack up against other players. If you’re brave, see if you can take the #1 spot.

Magnesium Ninja's Next Game is Out Now!
Hi everyone,Magnesium Ninja's next game, NOMIA, has just released out of early access and into 1.0. You can find it right here:For full details, see here: What?I did the art and animation for Overclocked. Now, I've done the art, animation, design, programming, and writing for another game, more than six years later.I would be incredibly grateful if you tried it out.Is This Anything Like Overclocked? Not at all. This one's a thinky turn-based tactics roguelike. Both it and Overclocked have a story component, though, and my art has improved a lot.Why Should I Check This One Out?I just think it's neat that I got to make another game six years later, and that it's nearly the complete opposite of the previous one. You have reliable Action cards that stay in your hand alongside exciting Gambit cards which are discarded and drawn each turn. You can take enemy aggro from your ally with your attacks. You can kick enemies off cliffs with knockback cards. As the rogue, you can steal an enemy's self-destruct card and then parry your own self-destruction. As the wizard, you can invert anyone's buffs into debuffs and vice-versa. As the warrior, you can get an infinite-range joust attack that deals more damage the further away you are. Please let me know what you think!Read full article on Community Announcements (Tangleworm)AnnouncementsOfficial

Magnesium Ninja's Next Game
Hi everyone!Magnesium Ninja is making another game more than 6 years after Overclocked. Here you go:Well, technically, I'm the artist of Overclocked working on it as a solo dev. If you liked my drawings in 2018, I hope you like my drawings (and writing, and game design) in 2025 even more. If you enjoyed Overclocked's fast paced glass-cannon action and rhythmic one-hit gameplay, be prepared for absolutely none of that, because this is actually a cerebral turn-based strategy game. What?NOMIA is an isometric tactics roguelike. Guide a warrior and a wizard through a mystifying tale using grid-based strategy and deep deckbuilding mechanics. It's like Final Fantasy Tactics meets Slay the Spire. Why?I love making games and I wanted to make one that was the complete opposite of the last one. What makes this one unique? You have reliable Action cards that stay in your hand alongside exciting Gambit cards which are discarded and drawn each turn. You can take enemy aggro from your ally with your attacks. You can kick enemies off cliffs with knockback cards. As the rogue, you can steal an enemy's self-destruct card and then parry your own self-destruction. As the wizard, you can invert anyone's buffs into debuffs and vice-versa. As the warrior, you can get an infinite-range joust attack that deals more damage the further away you are.Where is Chris, the programmer and writer of Overclocked? Is he alright? Is he safe?Chris is fine. Thanks for taking the time to read! Wishlists and feedback are always appreciated.Read full article on Community Announcements (Tangleworm)Patch NotesOfficial

Update 1.0.4 is Live!
This update fixes a couple bugs with Episode 7, and adds a new input scheme targeting speedrunners. Added a "Dedicated Dash Button" option that forces the dash button to always result in a dash, even if you release the button early. Dashes can still be held under this input scheme, and will still charge up before releasing Fixed an exploit where Asterion could be hit multiple times in a single phase Fixed a bug where the player could be killed after defeating the final boss, resulting in overlapping death and victory screens Side Note: Overclocked now has an official speedrunning community! Check out https://www.speedrun.com/Overclocked for more information and a link to the Discord group. As always, please let us know if you encounter any issues!Read full article on Community Announcements (Magnesium Ninja)
