About this game
Music Wave is a challanging Rhythm game for Electronic Dance Music that uses the home row of the keyboard. Players can create, share and download custom tracks through use of third party tools. With a modern skin and beautiful effects, each song will captivate your senses.
Gameplay
Ranging from difficult to easy, players can play through various EDM songs using ten keys from the home row of the keyboard. Through pressing notes as they traverse across the activation area, players accumulate score. Missing a note or pressing the wrong key losses life whereas hitting notes in succession heals the player.Score is accumulated from both streak and precision. Hitting notes in a row builds streak which applies to the base note value. Base note values are determined by the accuracy of the press. There are three tiers of accuracy. Players must master both precision and consistency to score high.
Custom Songs
Players can easily create, share, and download custom songs through use of third party tools. This means any song can be turned into a MusicWave track. Songs are generated from midis allowing players to use their favorite midi editing software to create tracks. For more information on creating songs, see the game website.Career Mode
There are plans for a career mode, or standard set of songs that grow in difficulty. Unlock new songs by scoring higher in the already unlocked songs. All score in career mode goes towards your career score which can be compared against the world for a global ranking in skill.System Requirements

Friday Update #3
This update was a long time coming, finally implemented the ability to customize note colors! Future plans include delay offsetting, custom highway images, custom backgrounds, and a song editor. In other news, I recently received a promotion at my full time job giving my more responsibility. This will definitely effect my ability to work on games for a while. I'll keep you updated on future plans and dates as I sort that out. As always, thanks for playing! - StephenRead full article on Community Announcements (Sock Lee)Patch NotesOfficial

FIXED CONTROL BUG
I fixed the notorious controls not rebinding or working glitch that prevented people from playing. I'm really sorry about this glitch; it was a serious issue. It was only occurring for new players or people who hadn't completed a song yet. I wasn't properly handling the new feature in new save data files. To fail is to learn and based on MusicWave's reviews, I'm learning a lot. It's okay though, I knew this game would be rough around the edges when I released it in Early Access and the only way for the game to improve as well as my own game development habits is to move forward. This bug was game breaking, but hopefully you guys can forgive me and give it another chance. As always, thanks for playing. -StephenRead full article on Community Announcements (tanjiro)AnnouncementsOfficial
MASSIVE visual improvements. Suprise!
I've had it on my list for a while to update MusicWave's GUI and this was long overdue. The visuals are a lot more fun and informative! Here's what's changed: Better placement of GUI meters New streak meter shows how close you are to each 50 increment. Animations and distinct colors for each meter so you can tell what it says without reading it. Multiplier meter now shows your streak progress Orbs are gold if you haven't missed a note FC indicator (Full combo (Having never missed a note or pressed something incorrectly)) Let me know if you like the new visuals! Might even change a few more things before supporting custom skinning, I just want everything to be where it should be. As for the control update bug: I cannot recreate the bug you guys are talking about where you cannot rebind your controls. I added a reset to default button for if your controls got messed up you can reset them, but I still cannot recreate this bug. Make sure you are clicking the rebind button and when it's red and says "??" you press the key you want to bind it to. I spoke to some people on the discord server and they said they weren't having issues either. If you are having this issue please reach out to me, maybe take a video? I'd really like to sort it out. Likely will only be one new song this Friday since it's my finals week. That's all and as always, thanks for playing! -StephenRead full article on Community Announcements (tanjiro)Patch NotesOfficial
Friday Update #1
I'm a little light on the update this week. I wasn't able ton finish the song charts on time due to final exams and projects. I hope you can forgive me, I promise when the semester ends I'll be more regular on the updates! This update is still important, it adds the ability to rebind controls; something requested by almost every positive and negative review. It also adds some small optimizations throughout. Expect some more requested features to come soon! Let me know about any bugs. Thanks for playing, as always, -StephenRead full article on Community Announcements (tanjiro)
