About this game
Golden Hornet is a retro style twin-stick shooter inspired by 'Choplifter', 'Fort Apocalypse', and Stern Electronics' arcade game 'Rescue'. Become a pilot of the multipurpose helicopter 'Golden Hornet' — rescue hostages and destroy enemy outposts.
On May 26th, 2020, as the North Videl began to invade in the dawn, the Second Videl War broke out. To fight against the North Videl army, the Golden Hornet — the South Videl's most advanced multipurpose helicopter — was put into operation.
Being piloted by two elite chopper pilots; the mission of the Golden Hornet is to save the prisoners of war, and destroy the enemy outposts.
Story
There was a country called Videl, divided into North and South after their first civil war. And still, there was a lot of conflict between them.On May 26th, 2020, as the North Videl began to invade in the dawn, the Second Videl War broke out. To fight against the North Videl army, the Golden Hornet — the South Videl's most advanced multipurpose helicopter — was put into operation.
Being piloted by two elite chopper pilots; the mission of the Golden Hornet is to save the prisoners of war, and destroy the enemy outposts.

Explore the level, save the hostages and destroy all enemy targets. There are 8 chapters in total, and each chapter consists of 3 levels. - Arcade:
Endless rescue misson. Save as many hostages as possible, and get the highest score you can achieve. Supports online leaderboard.

Policy Changes For Free Games

We're going to talk about the change of our pricing policy, for most of the free games we're servicing. We have been servicing a lot of free games by offering main game for free, with an $1 empty DLC for donations; so the users who are satisfied by the game are able to support us and the developers by purchasing the DLC, which also makes the game stay in your Steam library. However, some of the players told us that the game won't stay in their library even after purchasing the DLC, so they had to visit the store page to install it again. Thus we're going to make some changes to solve this problem and give some advantages to the purchasers. — Steam Edition Free games will be switched to Steam Edition, which will cost about $1. If you already purchased the Donationware DLC, you will automatically receive the Steam Edition of the game. Also, games that support a leaderboard will also start to support Steam Leaderboard, so you can upload your score at both of them. Steam Cloud and Steam Achievements will be the same as before. We're planning to update the games that are not supporting these features, so please allow us some time. And maybe we might add Steam Trading Cards, too! New Free Version An alternative free version will be added on Steam to compensate former version. Download button will be displayed on the store page, along with the purchase button for the Steam Edition. This new free version won't support any Steamworks features such as Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Steam Leaderboard, etc. Achievements that you already unlocked won't go away, but you won't be able to unlock new ones.
