About this game

Subtransit Drive is a realistic subway simulator lovingly crafted by railway enthusiasts and simulation developers. Follow the timetable, obey signals, manage train systems, and keep the line running smoothly during rush hour. Every trip demands attention, precision, and knowledge of the railway infrastructure.
Start a route on your own or with friends. An exact copy of a real metro line with detailed tunnel geometry, track profile, and infrastructure layout is already waiting for you in the game, and several more are currently in development.

Every lever, button, and switch in the cab is fully functional. Every action has an effect on the interconnected systems throughout the train just as it would in real-world operation. Electrical and pneumatic schematics were fully recreated for every car: each circuit and valve behaves exactly as it does in an authentic train.
Each wheelset is simulated independently on both rails rather than along a simplified centerline. Weight affects inertia, and every coupler is subject to realistic load limits.
The track is recreated to centimeter accuracy, including the placement of rail joints. Real-time suspension simulation reproduces body roll, pitch, vibration, and weight transfer as the train moved along the track.
Bring a train online from a cold-and-dark state, manage electrical and braking systems, and respond to abnormal operating conditions.
Every acceleration and braking maneuvers are calculated using a detailed model of interactions between all vehicle systems. The suspension adapts in real time to train mass and passenger distribution, creating a convincing sense of driving a living, dynamic piece of rolling stock.
A dynamic passenger flow system recreates the daily rhythm of a major city: morning rush hours in residential districts, evening congestion in the city center, and constantly shifting passenger demand throughout the network.
Every sound originates from the object that produces it and features realistic Doppler effects. Engine sounds and individual relay recordings were captured from real subway trains, while the smooth traction motor audio recreates the atmosphere familiar to millions of passengers across former Soviet metro systems.
Cross-platform multiplayer allows players to collectively recreate the operation of a real underground network, where every participant becomes part of a single transportation system.
You decide the scenario. Drive as long as you want, start and end your journey anywhere on the network. The route system continues to expand with future updates.

Build your career as a train operator by steadily advancing through the ranks. Earn promotions through flawless train handling, disciplined operation, and mastery of every system aboard your train.

Circle Line Work in Progress
Work on the Circle Line continues. This line is known for its rich architectural design and distinctive Stalinist architecture, often referred to as Socialist Classicism. We pay close attention to accurately recreating the characteristic details of the era, from the original marble and granite layouts to elaborate stucco work, grand chandeliers, and monumental mosaic panels.Today, we would like to show you a few fragments of the work completed so far and share how one of the most recognizable architectural landmarks of the Soviet Metro is gradually taking shape. It is a remarkable legacy of a bygone era and a testament to the extraordinary combination of architectural and engineering achievement. Subtransit Drive is coming this fall.Peace and love. See you soon! 🤍Read full article on Community Announcements (admin)AnnouncementsOfficial

DEVELOPER UPDATE: Q&A
Since the Steam page went live, you've asked a lot of questions. Here are the answers to some of the most common and important ones.Q: Do I need to buy the game again on PC if I already purchased Full Access on mobile? Will free DLC be available for mobile owners?A: The Steam version is a graphically and technically enhanced edition optimized for PC and controller support, so it is sold separately. However, you will not need to repurchase any DLCs. All DLC content is tied to your game account and will be available on any platform where you play. Please note that while the mobile version uses a “free demo + paid Full Access” model, the Steam version includes the full game with all enhancements from the start. Q: Will mod support be available?A: Unfortunately, the game’s architecture and licensing terms do not currently allow us to implement support for user-created modifications. Unreal Engine 5 offers enormous possibilities, but it also comes with a very high barrier to entry. Creating mods would require advanced knowledge of programming, 3D graphics, and PBR material setup. We do not want to release a tool that would only be accessible to a small group of specialists. Q: How many metro lines will be available at launch, and which new lines are planned for future updates?A: At launch, the game will include the Kalininskaya Line with 8 stations and a depot. The next line will be the Circle Line, which is currently in active development. We will share more details about it in the next Developer Update session. Q: How different are the trains from one another in the game?A: The base version of the game will include two types of rolling stock: the classic 81-717/714 with a rheostat-contactor control system, and the next-generation 81-760/761 with an asynchronous traction drive. These are two fully implemented trains with complete electrical and pneumatic systems, and they differ significantly in both operation and control principles. In addition, every individual car in t...Read full article on Community Announcements (admin)AnnouncementsOfficial
Physics
MOTIONLet's talk about the player camera and the background behind it. Every movement starts with the track geometry itself. The physically accurate curvature of both rails transfers forces to the wheelsets, then to the bogies, through the suspension system, and finally to the car body. Only after that are these movements additionally damped (smoothed) by the driver's seat and the player's viewpoint, creating the motion you experience from inside the cab. The only thing you can adjust is the amplitude of the player's head movement if the motion feels too intense. The underlying physics simulation itself remains unchanged. Our goal was to recreate the feeling of riding a real train as closely as possible without causing discomfort or motion sickness. RAILSRails are the foundation of train movement. That's why, in Subtransit Drive, both rails participate in the physics simulation, and each wheelset interacts with them physically instead of simply following a predefined path. This allows the train to respond naturally to real obstacles – for example, rolling over small objects or, under certain conditions, derailing. At the moment, derailments are intentionally restricted because the terrain does not yet have full collision support. Otherwise, an entire train could fall through the world, forcing the physics engine to simulate dozens of heavy bodies at once, resulting in a significant performance impact. There is also a multiplayer consideration: a derailed train would immediately disrupt gameplay for other drivers on the same server. FRICTIONHowever, this is only an intermediate step. We plan to continue expanding the physics simulation so that the game world becomes a true engineering sandbox for experimentation. In the future, we aim to implement more advanced interactions between rolling stock and infrastructure, including a dynamic wheel-to-rail adhesion coefficient that changes depending on operating conditions, track conditions, and other factors. A static adhes...Read full article on Community Announcements (admin)
