Steam Accounts Enabled for Leaderboards
Hi everyone,I've made a first pass at enabling auto-login via your Steam account so scores can be submitted. The original Google login method was deprecated by Google some time ago, so this update has been needed for some time. The first time you play, pick a name and score submission should happen automatically. Let me know if you run into any issues!- Derek D.Read full article on Community Announcements (Derek Detweiler)AnnouncementsOfficial
Paco and the Tumbling Seed Box now available!
Hi everyone! I'm excited to announce the release of Paco and the Tumbling Seed Box on Steam! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/30776250/4359b899608c13ced5168afe10b6c27e27f9e763.png This is a self-funded, passion project of mine to create fun games that are reminiscent of what you might find in a child's storybook. Thematically, I also thought it would be fun to highlight endangered animals and use them as characters in these games, since, you know, our business is named "Gopherwood" and our logo (if you cross your eyes just right) is an ark. It seems fitting. Paco is the first character and game to come to life from this idea. He's a Puerto Rican Parrot with three chicks that he's trying to feed. Yes, I know Puerto Rican Parrot chicks aren't yellow or red... ...I took a few game-design liberties: it'll all make sense when you play. A big thank you to ARBIMON for recordings of actual Puerto Rican Parrots chattering. Adding their vocal ambiance to the game really brings it to life. Also, thanks Todd. Your advice was critical. One final note: this title captures a lot of the game-play from one of our very first games, Sand Trap. I go into a bit of the evolution here if you want to see a few early designs (with awesome prototype art). Hope you enjoy the game!Read full article on Community Announcements (Derek Detweiler)AnnouncementsOfficial
Updates to Daily Challenge Leader Board
I've revisited the way scores are stored on the server as described in this blog post. As such, the way the Daily Challenge leader board works has changed. Initially, it listed the past 7 days of scores. Now it lists today's scores, but also lists weekly and all-time scores. Weekly and all-time scores are now based on a point system. At the end of each Daily Challenge, the day's scores are tabulated and all competing players from that day receive points according to where they placed on the day's leader board. The Daily Challenge Champion receives 50 points and other players in the top ten positions receive 10 points. Everyone else receives 1 point for participation. http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/30776250/82aafbed570b44d6537c969ab39dc9deaca3f0fc.png Lofty Prancing Llama has a slight all-time lead. When you become the Daily Challenge Champion or make the top ten, you should see a notification appear next time you play: http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/30776250/6539292ccf7b45700609803377633e3272e40505.pnghttp://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/30776250/f817b013486242886970a16eb2c3fdfb6ff8a682.png Enjoy! - Derek D.Read full article on Community Announcements (Derek Detweiler)
