About this game
In an alternate reality in 1920s Europa, it's been several years since the "Great War", but the ashes of the conflict are still hot and the war is entering a new phase. The first conflict saw the emergence of some incredible engines of war known as Mechs.
Built by "The Factory", an independent city-state which has since become the object of everyone's desire, these technological monstrosities roam the snowy landscapes of Europa.
Be the hero of one of the five factions – Saxony Empire, Crimean Khanate, Rusviet Union, Polania Republic or Nordic Kingdom – and become the richest and most powerful nation in all of Europa during these dark times! To assure the victory of your people, you will need to explore and conquer new territories, enlist new recruits and deploy your forces by building formidable and terrifying combat Mechs. Replay history in a fictional past full of mechanical engines and technology, where each choice you make will be critical. Choose your battles with care, because in Scythe, victory is achieved with and for the people!

- Asymmetry: every player starts the game with different resources (energy, coins, keen combat sense, popularity…), a different starting location and a secret objective. The starting positions are specifically set to contribute to the uniqueness of every faction and the asymmetrical nature of the game.
- Strategy: Scythe offers players almost complete control over their fate. The only elements of chance apart from each player's individual secrete objective card are the Encounter cards, which players draw to interact with the citizens of newly explored lands. Combat is also handled by way of choice; no luck or chance is involved.
- Engine Building: Players can improve their construction abilities to become more efficient, build structures that improve their position on the map, enlist new recruits into their faction, activate mechs to dissuade opponents from invading and expand their borders to reap greater types and quantities of resources. This aspect creates a feeling of energy and progression over the course of the entire game. The order in which players get to develop their economy and technologies adds to the unique feel of every game, even when playing as the same faction several times.

Status of Scythe: Digital Edition - what's next?
A long time ago, we announced the start of work on the Scythe: Digital Edition code refactor and the creation of two DLCs. We've been silent since then (not counting patch notes, minor updates and community support), but today, we would like to summarize how the work on Scythe looked like and what the game's future is. Refactor and DLCs status Renewing Scythe: Digital Edition has proven to be impossible at this time. Two different teams of veterans took on the project and admitted that the entire game had to be rewritten. This is a years-long task that needs to start from scratch - it exceeded our financial capabilities. We embarked on the journey of creating Scythe seven years ago, when we lacked experience. Today, with the knowledge we've gained, if we were to create the game anew, our approach would be entirely different. As you know a global pandemic and a market crisis began. We were looking for publishers willing to invest in Scythe: Digital Edition, but unfortunately, there were no willing ones. As a result, all our previous efforts were wasted. The airships have been created, but they will not take off because the current version of the game cannot support them. Scythe: Digital Edition will not receive any major changes or announced DLCs in the near future. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/31642150/d876c72fc1ac9dda1d8c4536b7da609db234078f.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/31642150/5c460e92dbeb09823feae5536baac432b788b2e6.png We are genuinely sorry for letting you down on this matter - we were unaware of a huge problem the game code base has had since it was developed in 2015-2016. Development of DLCs is impossible to take, and as we said above, we have to halt it. What does this mean for you, players? The game is not abandoned and will continue to be maintained. We will keep trying to find another solution, and if there is a space and the appropriate circumstances to return to work on the Scythe DLCs - we will be more than happy to do it! You don't have to worry about the servers be...Read full article on Community Announcements (sir.patman)Patch NotesOfficial

A fix for account transfers is on the way
Thank you for your understanding and for being patient. We apologize for all the problems with transfers that are taking place. We collect all your feedback on Discord, Steam and social media. The production team consistently works on the game by reproducing and solving bugs - you can be sure that there will be patches with hotfixes soon. Where and what bugs should I report? Two of the most common bugs are: you try to transfer, and you will see the message with an error - don't worry the activation link will not come to your email - don't worry Both issues will be resolved as soon as possible - we are working on them and should be back to normal within a week. If the activation link doesn't work, check if you have yet to send it twice accidentally - there should be one working at the bottom of the message. To help us collect other bugs, please report them to support@scythedigitaledition.com. It will help us streamline the entire process. Account transfer isn’t obligatory We also remind you that ACCOUNT TRANSFER IS NOT OBLIGATORY. It only applies to playing online and if you want to keep your match history. This also applies to accounts created BEFORE NOVEMBER 10, 2022. In a situation where you don't care about the account, create a new one and ignore the visible transfer message - just log in and have fun. Once again, we apologize to all of you for the problems. We will inform you as soon as everything is back to normal.Read full article on Community Announcements (sir.patman)
