Explore a world of mystery and challenge yourself to guess locations from images in I Was Here. This casual indie adventure invites you to test your ingenuity from the comfort of your sofa, created by Okinawa Sunrise in 2017.
About this game
Do you enjoy viewing pictures of various landmarks from around the world? Or discovering non-touristic views of famous places?
Regardless of whether you love to travel but do not have the time or opportunity for it, or if you are an experienced traveller and want to test your savvy, we hope our new game will bring you fun. “I Was Here” features more than 500 unique photos from more than 60 cities, interesting and little known facts about them, 3 difficulty levels and awesome music.
All photos in the game were shot by our friend who travels a lot around Europe, Russia and the Caucasus region in general. Though not a professional photographer or traveller, after several years of wandering the world, he developed a set of photos with an unusual perspective that delivers his own take on places both obscure and well-known. This game is a showcase of some of his works. Besides this, “I Was Here” also dishes plenty of amazing and interesting facts about places you might not know.
Gameplay comprises a meditative contemplation of photos in an attempt to guess the city they were taken in. Clues involving facts about the city will help you if you have doubts. There is also adynamic score (quiz) mode that contains one photo and 6 answer options with a 50/50 hint.

Hey Everyone, We already replaced an old answer system in our game in a previous patch(1.4.0) Some levels are already support original city names on a local language. (it's what you asked for!). This system was enabled by default. Old drag&drop system was replaced but you can still enable it in main menu This small update will add only a minor fixes, like mouseover hover text in all ingame menus. Hey Everyone, This update will bring a new answer system to our game. Now you can type your answer! Some levels will support original city names on a local language. (it's what you asked for!). This system will be enabled by default. Old drag&drop system was replaced but you can still enable it in main menu We still want to improve our game. First of all i wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎅 We spent a lot of time and nerves to make our game but it was not enough and our game sales are low. It was a rough year for us, hope next one will be better. We are still working on our game and we have a plans to add support to (Russian, French, German, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Spanish, Italian) languages. Most of translations are already complete. "Localization update" will available in January. You can still help us to implement trading cards by buying game on steam.
