Austen Translation is a tongue-in-cheek strategy game which borrows from the visual novel tradition. It can be played solo or as a hot-seat, party-game multiplayer match with up to five players. Randomly combined plot elements, settings, endings and rivals make each playthrough feel fresh.

About this game
Austen Translation is a satirical strategy game set in the world of Jane Austen—a tongue-in-cheek riff on caustic rivalries, appalling preconceptions of the roles of women and men, and, of course, the unending quest to marry well. In Austen Translation, the player takes on the role of an innocent young woman who has to convince a wealthy bachelor to marry her so she can escape a future of poverty and destitution.
But this isn't your English teacher's Jane Austen. Our game takes Jane's genteel brand of satire and sends it over the top, creating an Austen experience which has gone completely off the rails. It’s an experience rife with dropping pianos, outrageous rumors, and mercilessly manipulated rivalries. A Jane for the digital ages, as it were.

Unity Patch Update
Greetings, members of the gentry! We have just deployed a new patch for Austen Translation, applying a fix for the Unity Engine vulnerability. 🎩🧐 As you are likely aware, recently Unity announced that a long-standing security vulnerability that was discovered in their engine. They released a patch for it and as such we have applied it to our latest build. After some internal testing, it appears good to go. I've just deployed it to Steam. Austen Translation Musical Update

We are delighted to announce that Austen Translation has received a musical upgrade. You may note that the dulcet tones of the rather frenetic accompanist sound a little different. Functionally, the music remains the same. But the previously utilized MIDI system has been replaced with a sampled piano. Keep an eye and an ear out for an update soon for a soundtrack release date. It's been a long-time coming but we're super busy here at W&M.
