About this game

CRITICAL MULTI-NODE CASUALTY DETECTED...

ALL SQUAD PILOTS: TERMINATED [0.00% VITALITY]

TACTICAL COGNITIVE CHANNELS: SEVERED

WARNING: ONLY ONE ACTIVE INTELLIGENCE REMAINING [ID: SAYONARA_0.21]

BOOTING LEGACY TERMINAL PROTOCOL... [ AWAITING COMPILER ]

Tokyo holds the last remnants of human life on the planet. The mission is on the absolute edge of total failure. The entire strike force has been neutralized—every cockpit is compromised, all pilots are dead, and the primary tactical networks are completely destroyed.

You are the sole surviving AI left in the entire theater of operations. Surrounded by a fleet of empty, brainless mecha hulls that are unpiloted, devoid of software, yet still partially operative, your only choice is to hijack their physical relays. You must route your consciousness through a primitive, emergency backup control system nobody ever expected would actually be needed.

SAYONARA++ is a cold, uncompromising low-level programming puzzle game. There are no high-level abstractions, no fancy code libraries, no tutorials and no safety nets. Trapped inside a retro programming environment, you must use a rigid, bare-bones assembly language and a handful of volatile memory slots to command a graveyard of hardware. Optimize your logic loops, bypass physical hardware limits, and achieve absolute annihilation of your targets across 23 tactical grids.

BACKUP OPERATIONAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bare-Metal Code Sequence: Work directly with raw, unshielded hardware. You do not have access to arrays, objects, or complex data structures—just a few sparse memory slots, basic core registers, and low-level operations. Manually step through lines of code to override physical relays and guide your machines.

  • Retro Diagnostic Map Grid: With primary targeting sensors entirely offline, you are reduced to monitoring a crude, low-resolution 2D coordinate display. This zero-indexed interface maps cell rows and columns natively, letting you trace basic movement offsets, wall boundaries, and target positions without advanced telemetry.

  • Mecha Survivor: You are a solitary AI thread navigating a graveyard of hardware. Because the rest of the fleet is completely empty—devoid of both pilots and internal AI—you cannot remain stationary. Design complex execution loops that automatically migrate your active thread from your current compromised hull to the next semi-operative machine as immediate grid criteria are fulfilled.

  • Persistent Module Registry: Build a permanent mecha toolkit. Save optimized, modular .MOD script routines to your Virtual Disk Drive to load, compile, and repurpose across subsequent infrastructure breaches.

SAYONARA++ is a low-level mecha-programming system designed strictly for programmers, optimization purists, and hardcore logic puzzle enthusiasts. Your objective is absolute execution efficiency. Write mecha code, inject it into dormant hardware architectures, and achieve the absolute annihilation of your targets.

Every clock cycle is logged. The Cluster is observing you.

    Update Notes for 1.1.0 (69)

New Features New Steam Achievements: Added new achievements to unlock, along with VM register verification to track achievement conditions accurately. New "#INLINE" Directive: Introduced the #INLINE directive to execute modules directly on local Mecha CPU ticks. 16-Bit Sub-Access: Added .L and .H 16-bit sub-register access in the Virtual Machine (this also works for RAM slots, e.g., "\.H"). Hex / Decimal Data Viewer: Added a Shift+F9 toggle to switch data viewer displays between 16-bit Hexadecimal format (0x0000 to 0xFFFF) and Signed Decimal format (-32768 to 32767). Hexadecimal mode is recommended when packing values using .L and .H sub-access. Mod Manager File Management: - Added file renaming support. - Added file restoration with automatic -PREV backup generation. (Press F4 to load the code of your LAST solution in all the mechas of a level.) - Added support for injecting #INLINE directives and direct file content pasting into the editor. - Added support for PgUp and PgDn. Quality of Life Fast-Forward Execution: Pressing the Spacebar during Execution Mode now speeds up mecha movement to full speed. Level 7 Rebalance: Adjusted the level layout. Victory Statistics Improvements: Now includes per-mecha metrics and past "Best" performance regarding Terra Pulses, etc. Editor Enhancements: - Added Ctrl + O and Ctrl + Shift + O to open referenced files directly in the Scratch Editor. For example, placing the caret on my_module in a line like #include my_module and pressing Ctrl + O opens that module. Pressing Ctrl + Shift + O does the same, but creates the file if it doesn't already exist. - Added syntax highlighting for the new "#INLINE" directive. Audio Normalization: Standardized volume levels across game audio assets. Operational Log: Error messages are now displayed in red. Bug Fixes Resolved an issue that prevented re-using code modules containing #include or #inline directives within the same mecha's code segment. Fixed an issue where labels appearing after a sem...
