About this game

90 Days. One Car. One Driver

Run It Back is a text-based racing career sim where every single choice costs you a turn. Work a shift, hit the drag strip, tune the engine, or risk it on the midnight streets — the clock never stops, and the National Championship is coming whether you're ready or not.

Real Physics, Not Dice Rolls

Every drag race runs on a full Newtonian simulation — power, torque, weight, drag, gearing — timestepped down to the tenth of a second. Your car's numbers aren't flavor text. Bolt on the wrong turbo for your build and you'll actually go slower. Get the tune right and feel the difference on the strip.

Build a Driver, Not Just a Car

Seven skills — Nerve, Launch, Shifting, Racing, Discipline, Mechanic, Tuning — grow from what you actually do. Practice sharpens reflexes. A dyno session teaches you to read an engine. A night at the drive-in might teach you something no amount of grinding at the track ever will. There aren't enough days to master everything — every run is defined by what you chose to get good at.

The Street Doesn't Forgive

Wager real cash against a field of NPC racers who'll walk away from a bet they can't cover — or clean you out if you can't cover yours. Win big, or eat a police fine on the way home. Once you're in for the night, you're in.

Your Journal Remembers

Every turn writes itself into a driver's journal — wins, losses, late nights, and the slow climb from a stock engine to something that can actually compete. Flip back through 90 days and watch the story you built.

Climb the Global Leaderboard

Post your best quarter-mile time to a live, worldwide leaderboard. One car, one build, one number — and it's yours to beat.

  • Full Newtonian drag race physics simulation

  • Street racing with dynamic wagers and NPC personalities

  • Deep car tuning: dyno sessions, part detuning, optimal power windows

  • Seven trainable driver skills across multiple activities

  • A persistent journal that narrates your entire 90-day run

  • Steam global leaderboard for quarter-mile bragging rights

Welcome — And a bit of honesty about where things stand

Hey everyone,Thanks for stopping by the store page for Run It Back: 90 Days to Race. I wanted to kick things off with an honest first post. This is genuinely the first store page I've ever built, the first Steamworks setup I've done, and the first time I'm writing something like this. It's also the first game I've made intended to launch publicly. I'm a solo developer, and pretty much every part of this process (marketing, store presence, community posts) is new territory which I'm learning as I go.That includes the art you see here. To hit my timeline for getting the page live, I leaned on placeholder art, some of it AI-generated or AI-assisted and it's not representative of the final quality I'm aiming for. Better, high-quality art is already in progress and will be swapping in as development continues. ISame goes for the store description and screenshots in general: consider most things here a first draft. I'll keep updating this page, and posting here, as things improve. If you've got thoughts, questions, or feedback on the game concept or anything else, I'd genuinely love to hear it. This is early days, and community input means a lot for a solo project like this. Thanks for reading, and for giving a first-timer a shot!Kind Regards,EmptyFolder Studio
