About this game

#SoloDeveloped
Your name is Nolan Dixon. You are the sole operator of a remote observatory hidden far from civilization.

Your mission begins with routine maintenance, monitoring satellites, and processing mysterious signals from space. But with every transmission you receive, the station becomes stranger. Equipment malfunctions, unexplained events occur, and something unknown begins to reveal itself beyond the stars.

Explore a retro-futuristic scientific facility inspired by the technology and aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s. Manage complex equipment, investigate anomalies, and survive the growing unease of life in complete isolation.

INVESTIGATE THE UNKNOWN

Track satellites, process incoming transmissions, and search for hidden patterns within strange signals from space. Every discovery may bring you closer to the truth—or to something far more dangerous.

MAINTAIN THE STATION

Operate scientific equipment, repair systems, organize your workspace, and keep the observatory running. The station depends entirely on you.

EXPLORE AT YOUR OWN PACE

Wander through the facility, uncover secrets, interact with countless objects, and experience a world that rewards curiosity and attention to detail.

ATMOSPHERIC SCI-FI HORROR

A slow-burning horror experience focused on tension, isolation, mystery, and immersion rather than constant jump scares.

Soon you will discover what lies after the silence.

    Weekly Friday Update #11

Hey everyone!Week after week, the progress has been absolutely insane.I've learned a ton about optimization, pretty much rebuilt the map, and almost finished figuring out a new mechanic for reporting to your superiors. I won't go into details yet, but story-wise, it's going to be wild.Meanwhile, my wife has made some crazy progress on the station's main computer and integrating new mechanics like thirst, poisoning, and more. And somehow, it turns out Demo V2 is going to arrive much sooner than we expected.V2 is basically the foundation of the finished game at this point. Pretty much all the core stuff will already be there. After that, it's mostly content, polishing, bug fixing, and smoothing out the final rough edges.Long story short: once Demo V2 is here, the full release won't be far behind 👀But before that, next week we're releasing an intermediate update for the current demo. It's NOT V2 yet, but it'll already have a new map, new lighting, materials, textures, optimization, and a bunch of other changes. So jump back in and see what the game has turned into! And if you find anything broken, let us know. We'll keep breaking things and fixing them Thank you to everyone following the development. You're absolute legends, especially those first 100 of you ❤️❤️❤️We're getting really close 📡

    Weekly Friday Update #11

Hey everyone! 👋Judging by the screenshot, this is pretty much what we look like after this week of development 😄The landscape and vegetation are almost completely finished. The world is finally starting to look the way I imagined it.At the same time, we've nearly finished a whole bunch of new mechanics: hunger, food, taking damage, cold, and even getting drunk. There are just a few things left to polish and some testing to make sure everything works properly together. And that means only one thing:DEMO V2 IS VERY CLOSE.No, seriously.Ridiculously close.Next week on Patreon, I'll be showing more of these new systems - hunger, drunkenness, and some of the other mechanics we've been working on. So if you'd like to follow development a little more closely and support the project at the same time, come join us ❤️P.S.This week has been insanely productive - we've done an absolute ton of work. Which makes it especially strange to occasionally see people trying to devalue all of it.Just a reminder: there is no AAA studio behind this game. No huge team. No publisher with bags of money. There are literally two of us. We're a married couple making this game simply because we believe in it and want to create something genuinely cool. We're constantly working on the game, releasing updates, sharing development progress, reading feedback, and asking for nothing in return. So watching someone still manage to show up just to throw a little shit our way is honestly kind of funny 😄But that's just background noise. The project is growing, the game is getting bigger and better, and we're going to keep moving forward.Thank you to everyone who's sticking with us, playing the demo, leaving comments, and wishlisting the game! Demo V2 is almost here)See you soon! 👋

    Weekly Friday Update #10

On my end - I snapped and redid the map. Yep. Again. But now I’m finally happy with the result and can live in peace. Probably. On my wife’s end - we watched a TV show. You might be wondering what that has to do with game development.Well… everything 😂While we were watching, she came up with a new idea for how the player will send reports to their employer. No spoilers for now, because we want to actually implement it properly first, but damn… the idea is SO GOOD. We’ll start working on it next week 👀Besides that, we’ve finally started polishing the hunger, thirst, and poisoning mechanics. They’ll most likely make it into Demo V2 as well - I think they’ll make playing through the demo a lot more fun. Especially when everything starts going wrong at the same time 😄And one more thing - After the Silence got into two showcases! 🎉I still can’t quite believe any of this is happening. More and more of you keep joining us.We’re getting close to 300 wishlists.THREE HUNDRED. Holy crap ❤️ A huge thank you to everyone who wishlists the game, plays the demo, leaves comments, shares it, or simply follows the development. It genuinely means a lot to our tiny team. That’s all for now! See you next Friday 👀❤️

    Weekly Friday Update #9

Greetings, traveler :)It’s time for another small weekly After the Silence update. This week, I’ve mostly been working on making the demo feel more complete and cohesive. And the biggest change is already available in the game:The demo now has a proper little ending.Of course, I’m not going to tell you what exactly happens or how to get there. It’s much more fun to discover it on your own.I’ll only say one thing: don’t be too quick to leave when it feels like everything is already over. 👀Besides that, quite a few smaller changes and fixes have made their way into the demo lately. I’m continuing to polish the UI, environmental interactions, localization, fix reported issues, and improve all those little details around the station.A special thank you to everyone who has shared feedback after playing. I read your comments and messages, and some of the changes in the game are there specifically because of your suggestions. With the ending now in place, the demo finally feels like what I wanted it to be: a small, self-contained piece of After the Silence that introduces you to its atmosphere, the station, and a little taste of what lies ahead. So if you’ve already played the demo before, now might be a good time to return to the station one more time.Thank you to everyone who downloaded the game, wishlisted After the Silence, left feedback, or simply continues to follow its development.❤️ Brain Rampage ❤️

    Weekly Friday Update #8

First of all, there are already more than 200 of us! And that’s just insanely cool. Mind-blowing, honestly.I still don’t really understand how this is happening, but somehow it is 😄Thank you to everyone who downloaded the demo, wishlisted the game, left a comment, or is simply following the development ❤️Second - I’ve finally started working on setting up a Mac build as well, because, well… gaming on Mac could definitely use some love.Third - I’m already working hard on Demo V2, and there is A LOT of work to do here.I want to add more mechanics, more interactions, and generally make the demo clearer and more interesting. Because, to be honest, even I’m not completely satisfied with the current version yet. There’s still far too little of what I actually want to show and what After the Silence is ultimately supposed to become. So Demo V2 will be noticeably bigger and much more packed with content.Fourth - I heard Shturman’s comment about the ending. So now there will be a much clearer ending to the demo… but don’t expect the usual “Thank you for playing” screen. Let’s just say there’ll be a little surprise 😄P.S. Right now, I’m also trying to find a third person to join the team - someone who’s good at programming in Unreal Engine 5. Programming is currently the biggest bottleneck in development because it’s the part I struggle with the most. But there’s plenty more ahead.A huge thank you to everyone who’s here and following After the Silence. You’re all awesome ❤️See you at the station 📡
