The current build contains the complete opening and Episode One of Nocturne Hollow.

During Episode One, players can explore the currently available areas of Hollow Veil, uncover memory fragments and supernatural clues, make relationship and story choices, and begin the introductory character paths for Lucian, Evelyn, and Damien.

    Oh, I Almost Forgot…

Oh, I Almost Forgot…One more thing.I’ve been so buried in sprite revisions, scene cleanup, Ren’Py testing, and fixing visual inconsistencies that I almost forgot to ask the people actually playing Nocturne Hollow something important. What do you want more of?The project is at a point where several parts of the game are being expanded at the same time, and I’d genuinely like to know what players are most interested in seeing next.If you had to choose, what would you want me to prioritize?A — More Story and Playable ContentMore mysteries, discoveries, choices, and progress deeper into the mansion.B — More Character InteractionsMore time with Lucian, Evelyn, Damien, Elena, and the rest of the cast.C — More Romance and Relationship DevelopmentMore opportunities for relationships to grow, change, fracture, or become complicated based on your decisions.D — More ExplorationMore rooms, hidden areas, environmental storytelling, secrets, and things to investigate.E — More HorrorMore supernatural events, unsettling moments, psychological weirdness, and situations where you’re not entirely sure what is real.F — More Cinematic PresentationMore animated scenes, atmospheric backgrounds, visual effects, character animation, and presentation upgrades.Or maybe none of those. If there is something else you want to see, tell me.I’m also curious:What has been your favorite part of the demo so far?A character?A scene?A choice?A mystery?Something that made you suspicious?Something that made you want to keep playing?Drop it in the comments.I read the feedback, and it genuinely helps me figure out where the game is working and where it still needs attention. And yes, voting for:“Make the mansion even more unhinged.”is also completely acceptable.— Diabolical Debauchery

Nocturne Hollow — September Development Update

Nocturne Hollow — September Development UpdateDevelopment on Nocturne Hollow has been moving steadily forward, and a lot of the recent work has focused on making the game look and feel more cohesive.Over the last several weeks, I have been revisiting the main cast, existing scenes, and several of the systems running underneath the story. One of the biggest areas of improvement has been the character artwork.Several characters, including Evelyn, Elena, Damien, and Lucian, have been receiving visual updates so their sprites better match one another in style, proportions, lighting, facial design, and overall presentation.I have also been going back through scenes to improve things like:Character scale and positioningExpressions and posesLighting and environmental effectsScene transitionsAnimated background elementsSprite cleanup and transparencyOverall visual consistencySome of these changes are immediately noticeable. Others are the kind of small fixes that make the game feel better without drawing attention to themselves. The Mansion Is Becoming More ReactiveWork is also continuing on the systems that sit underneath the story.Nocturne Hollow is being built around the idea that your choices should affect more than just the next line of dialogue.Your relationships matter.Your memories matter. What you investigate matters. What you ignore can matter just as much.Different characters may reveal different versions of the truth, and some choices are designed to have consequences much later than the moment you make them. The mansion is not just a backdrop. It is becoming part of the game.Beyond the Current DemoThe Steam demo is still only an early look at what Nocturne Hollow is intended to become.Development is continuing on:New story contentExpanded character routesAdditional mansion explorationRelationship-driven scenesSupernatural eventsBranching consequencesMore atmospheric and cinematic presentationThere is still plenty of work ahead, but the project is steadily becoming mu...
