About this game
Dark Hollow is a grim text-driven RPG about surviving in a world already halfway buried.
Hunt monsters for coin, take contracts from desperate townsfolk, descend into forgotten catacombs, rob the dead, and wander through cursed forests where every step further from town feels like a mistake.
Your words shape how you survive.
Choose where to travel, who to trust, what to carry, and whether risking another journey into the dark is worth what waits at the end of it. Time passes with every action. Weather shifts without warning. Madness follows you home from places better left untouched.
The farther you travel from town, the stranger the world becomes. Bells echo through empty chapels long after midnight. Shapes move through the fog where nothing should be standing. Travelers vanish along the roads and sometimes return days later — silent, shaking, wrong.
There are no grand kingdoms left to save. No glory waiting at the end of the road. Most people in Dark Hollow are only trying to make it through another night without losing themselves completely.
You are no different.
Not chosen.
Not destined.
Not important.
Just another desperate soul carrying a weapon through the dark because dying frightened is worse than dying tired.
Some people pray.
Some people drink.
Some people bury what they’ve done and keep walking.
Death is permanent.
The Hollow remembers.

$100 IN SALES — THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN DARK HOLLOW
THANK YOU — WE HIT $100 IN SALES. I genuinely don't know how to put this into words.Dark Hollow RPG has officially passed $100 in sales. To some people, $100 probably isn't much. But to me, it represents something I never really knew if I'd be able to accomplish.Dark Hollow started as an idea. Just an idea.I didn't have a big studio behind me. I didn't have a publisher, a team of hundreds of people, or some massive budget. I had a computer, a bunch of ideas, and a stubborn determination to see if I could actually make a game.I had to figure out how to build the damn thing.I learned as I went. I spent countless hours writing code, fixing bugs, breaking things, fixing them again, rebuilding systems, figuring out Steam's requirements, making assets, dealing with builds that didn't work, and wondering more than once whether I was completely insane for trying to do all of this. There were plenty of moments where Dark Hollow was sitting on my computer and I had no idea if anyone would ever actually play it.Then I finally put it on Steam. And someone bought it.Then someone else did.And another person. And now I'm sitting here looking at $100 in actual sales from a game that started as an idea in my head. That's fucking crazy to me.Those aren't just sales. They're people who looked at something I created and decided it was worth spending their money on.You believed in something I made. And I don't think I'll ever be able to properly explain what that means to me.So to every single person who has purchased Dark Hollow, played it, left a review, wishlisted it, shared it, told someone about it, or even just took the time to look at the store page:Thank you. Seriously. You helped prove to me that I could actually do this.$100 isn't the finish line. It's the first little piece of proof that this crazy idea was worth chasing.Dark Hollow is out there now. People are playing it. People bought it. And I made that happen. And honestly?I'm fucking proud of myself.Thank you for being part of it...Read full article on Community Announcements (★ Conor-PotPie)Patch NotesOfficial

steam deck and proton support
Steam Deck Support UpdateGood news! Dark Hollow is now playable on the Steam Deck with a small compatibility tweak. While the game isn't officially Steam Deck Verified yet, we've tested it and had a great experience in both Desktop Mode (docked) and Portable Mode.Setup (One-Time)Before launching the game:Open your Steam Library.Select Dark Hollow.Go to Properties → Compatibility.Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool."Select Proton Experimental (this was the version that worked best during our testing). After that, the game should launch normally.Steam Deck TipsEscape Key: In Portable Mode, press Steam Button + Left on the D-Pad to emulate the Escape key.Typing: The Steam Deck's virtual keyboard works well for entering commands and text. The game has been tested in both handheld and docked Desktop Mode, and both performed well after enabling Proton Experimental. As always, Steam Deck compatibility can vary slightly depending on your Proton version and system updates. If you run into any issues—or discover an even better configuration—let us know in the Steam Discussions so we can continue improving the experience for everyone.Happy exploring, and good luck surviving the horrors of Dark Hollow.Read full article on Community Announcements (★ Conor-PotPie)Patch NotesOfficial

FIXES I discovered that one of the Collector improvements from the previous update didn't actually make it into the live build as intended. That's on me.
