About this game
202 Nations. One Dream.
From footballing giants to rising minnows, all 202 national teams across the globe are here — every confederation, from Europe and South America to Africa, Asia, North America and Oceania. Take charge of your country and begin the journey from your very first match to lifting the ultimate trophy. Every selection, every tactical tweak and every substitution is yours. Do you have what it takes to make a nation world champions?
A Match Engine That Rewards Real Tactics
Matches play out with genuine footballing logic. Goals aren't random — a striker's finishing is tested against the keeper's reflexes and the defender's positioning, while your team's quality, shape and form drive the flow of the game. Get your tactics right and you'll see the difference on the pitch.
Work the Sideline — Your Defining Moments
This is where matches are won and lost. At the key moments — a winger bursting into the box, a striker through on goal, a controversial call from the referee — the action pauses and the decision is yours.
Call the play in real time:
Whip in a cross, or thread the through ball
Shoot from range, or run at the defender
Switch the play, or keep possession and probe
Every choice carries its own risk and reward — a cross might win a corner or be cleared; a long shot is safe but rarely beats the keeper; taking your man on could create a goal or give it away.
But here's the twist: your players don't always listen. Every player has a discipline rating, and the more headstrong they are, the more likely they'll wave off your instruction and back their own judgement. Reliable defenders and seasoned veterans follow orders; flair wingers, star strikers and maverick playmakers are a law unto themselves — they might ignore your shout and produce a moment of magic, or throw it all away. Reading and managing those personalities is the heart of the game.
And when a decision goes against you? Take on the referee. Argue aggressively, protest calmly, applaud sarcastically, or bite your tongue — each can sway an official who has his own temperament, from lenient to strict. Get it right and he might just reconsider. Push too far and you'll be the one shown a card.
Command the Touchline
Total control over how your team plays:
Choose from a wide range of formations — 4-3-3, 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1, 5-3-2 and many more
Set your mentality from Ultra Defensive to Ultra Attack
Fine-tune your approach with strategies like Press High, Offside Trap, Quick Passing, Use Wings, Overlap and Hurry Up
Assign captains, penalty takers and set-piece roles
Adjust everything pre-match, at half time, or live as the game unfolds
Build a Dynasty
A great manager doesn't just pick the best XI — they build for the future. Develop your nation's next generation through the national youth academy, where rare generational wonderkids can emerge and grow into world-beaters. And success compounds: the higher your nation climbs the world rankings, the stronger the talent coming through your academy — so winning today seeds the dynasty of tomorrow. Manage form, fitness and morale across a long-term career and shape a squad in your own image.
Conquer Every Stage
Compete across the full international calendar:
The World Cup — the ultimate prize
Continental championships across every confederation
The Nations League
Qualification campaigns, group stages, and knockout drama right down to penalty shootouts
Rotating host nations and authentic tournament structures keep every cycle fresh.
A Living, Breathing Football World
Your career doesn't play out in a vacuum. The football world lives and breathes around you, delivered through a constant feed of national and world news.
Follow your own nation's story — qualification dramas, VAR controversies, and the headlines that follow your results. Beyond your camp, the wider game churns on: domestic leagues across the globe play out their seasons and crown champions, domestic cups are won and lost, and a continental club competition decides the best side on the planet.
And the transfer market never sleeps. Summer and winter windows open and slam shut on a frantic deadline day, with players moving between clubs — including big-money moves abroad to the top leagues. Your own internationals have club careers of their own, and you'll get the recap of exactly where they landed.
Above it all sits a dynamic world ranking that shifts with every result, as rival nations rise and fall across decades of simulated history — so no two careers ever play out the same way.
Your Story, Your Legacy
SIM: World Cup Manager is a deep, focused single-player experience built for football fans who love the strategy behind the beautiful game. How will history remember your reign?

Update 1.9
Various Bug Fixes: Euros no longer show "Not being played this season" while waiting for the draw; they now show "Awaiting the draw", like the World Cup. The draw-pending message now uses each tournament's own name instead of a hard-coded "World Cup". Removed the Euro qualifying play-off, which was wrongly running the World Cup intercontinental play-off. A Euro play-off loss can no longer mark you as having missed the World Cup. Old saves with a stale Euro play-off in their calendar now skip it safely. The "Qualified!" news now fires correctly for CONMEBOL sides, who have six automatic places. Fixed tapping one player opening a different one (duplicate player ids after an app restart). Existing saves with duplicate ids are repaired automatically on load, with squad and XI preserved. The player-id counter now carries over between launches instead of resetting to 1000. Player ids can no longer collide with scouted-player ids, even in very long sessions. Tapping a name in older news items now always opens the right player. New players from your nation can no longer share a name with current, retired or record-holding players.Read full article on Community Announcements ([SWAT] JF)Patch NotesOfficial
Minor Patch 1.8
Bug Fixes: Penalty shootouts in finals now decide the trophy correctly. Winning a final on penalties will now correctly crown you champion — previously the shootout result could be ignored and the winner assigned incorrectly. Fixed the CONCACAF Nations League knockout. It was jumping straight to a one-off final between two teams instead of playing proper semi-finals. It now runs correctly: four group winners → two semi-finals → final. Fixed the CONCACAF Nations League host. The finals were being hosted by European nations; they're now correctly hosted within CONCACAF. (Also fixed a related issue where the wrong confederation's host could be shown when both regions' Nations Leagues were viewed.) Fixed a schedule glitch when reaching a Nations League final. Making the final no longer corrupts your fixture calendar — this was a knock-on effect of the broken knockout structure above.Read full article on Community Announcements ([SWAT] JF)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 1.7
SIM: World Cup Manager — Update Notes This update focuses on world authenticity, squad accuracy, and a batch of gameplay fixes that came out of your feedback. Here's everything that's changed. More nations — now 212 The playable nation list is now complete to full FIFA membership. We added Thailand plus Russia, Israel, Kuwait, Oman, Syria, North Korea, Cambodia, Guinea-Bissau, and Mauritius. Every confederation now matches its real member count (UEFA 55, CAF 54, AFC 47, and so on). Each new nation comes with its correct flag, home stadium, and region-appropriate player names, and all of them slot cleanly into World Cup qualifying, continental cups, and the finals — no qualification places were changed, the new sides simply compete for the existing slots like everyone else. National flags now render properly everywhere Flags are now real images across every screen — the nation picker, match headers, fixtures, standings, world rankings, news, and awards. Previously some devices showed two-letter country codes (like "ES" or "FR") instead of a flag. Flags are now bundled into the game, so they display correctly offline with no dependency on an internet connection. Deeper, more varied squads Every nation's name pool now has at least 100 surnames, so generated squads feel far more varied and authentic — you'll see much less repetition down a team sheet, especially for Southeast and East Asian nations that previously drew from smaller pools. Away games are now played at the right stadium Fixed a bug where every nation played both home and away matches at its own home ground — so if you were managing England, away fixtures still showed Wembley. Matches are now correctly staged at the actual home team's stadium. Because each stadium drives the local climate, this also fixes match weather: an away game in Brazil now gets Rio's conditions rather than London's. Neutral-venue tournament matches still correctly use the host nation's stadium, and referee selection was tidied up at...Read full article on Community Announcements ([SWAT] JF)Patch NotesOfficial
