About this game

Late 2022. The world has just met AI, everyone wants in, and nobody owns the market yet. That gap is yours.

LLM Tycoon is a strategy-tycoon about building an AI company the hard way: one model at a time, one scandal at a time. Either you carry the world into the age of superintelligence, or somebody else does.

Your models have personalities. That's the problem.

Honesty, safety, tone, depth. Set the sliders however you like. Play it safe and reviewers call your model boring. Let it off the leash and it says something the press will never let you forget. Push a slider all the way to the end and strange things start to happen. Your rivals wrestle with the same sliders, and their hidden ideals leak into scandals of their own.

Six ages, from chatbots to whatever comes next

The race runs through six ages: Chat, Scale, Multimodal, Agentic, Superintelligence, Ascendancy. Each one changes the rules. New markets open, acquisitions become possible, and eventually the crises begin. Getting there first matters. Surviving it matters more.

Steel, silicon, and 75 cities

Pick a headquarters. Put datacenters where power is cheap and regulators are friendly. Haggle over chips, or sign with a foundry and skip the line. When your models are good enough, design a consumer device and put them in everyone's pocket. The map holds 30 countries, and every one of them wants something different from you.

The market doesn't wait

Set your prices, win contracts, grow an app ecosystem on top of your models. Market share is won country by country, and lost the same way. Rivals launch their own models, undercut you, and take whatever you leave undefended.

Rival CEOs with opinions

On Chirp, the in-game social feed, rival CEOs hype their keynotes and mock your launches. Sometimes they implode in public instead. Enjoy it while it lasts. You're one bad release away from being the main character.

The unofficial routes to the top

Build intel dossiers. Steal research through a hacking minigame. Buy shares in a rival, or buy the whole company. Go public, take out loans, ride your valuation. It all works, right up until it doesn't.

Governments notice

Run diplomacy campaigns and keep the right countries on your side. The Dominance Index tracks your grip on the world across four fronts, and there are titles waiting at the top. The world doesn't hand them over quietly.

It all happens on the real timeline

World events land on their actual dates. Decision chains branch the way they do in EU4. History bends around your choices, until superintelligence arrives with problems of its own.

    LLM Tycoon Demo is released!

Hello,The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here: our demo is now playable. First of all, thank you from the whole team for your interest in LLM Tycoon and for giving the demo a try. With this update, we'd like to share the changes we've made in the game's current version, 0.7.5.1.All of the systems we designed for the 1.0 release are now in the game. Since these systems aren't fully optimized yet, our testing and improvement work will continue. In particular, we're still refining mechanics like company knowledge and the demand structure to deliver a better, deeper gameplay experience. Likewise, a few flows within the intelligence mechanics will be disabled in the demo for now. We'll keep updating the demo until the full game launches. The demo is limited to 3 years of in-game time.Have fun, Behran

    Development Update - 0.7.0

Hello, With version 0.7.0, we've added a range of new systems and features to LLM Tycoon. Below we've laid out the highlights for you. New SystemsDistillation System We've added a new mechanic to the game's core loop of building and releasing AI models. You can now "distill" your large models into smaller, cheaper, and faster versions. You can also distill your rivals' models — but be careful, this comes with the risk of a lawsuit. Rivals can do the same to you. Company ImageThe game already had a popularity mechanic. With our latest update, the decisions you make now shape your company's public image. A needle on the map shows whether your company is perceived as "friendly" or "villainous." Your image makes itself felt through pricing, reactions, and events. This mechanic will also affect your relationships with countries.Energy & Carbon Footprint This is a system we added on top of the popularity mechanic. You now choose an energy source for your data centers — six different options, from coal to solar to small nuclear reactors. Your choice affects your carbon footprint, and in turn protests, taxes, and your standing in the public eye.Updated SystemsKnowledge MechanicThe data collection screen has been rebuilt from the ground up. You now license or "scrape" data from more realistic, named sources with personality (like VidTube and WikiVault). Scraping carries the risk of scandal and lawsuits. Origins & Company Types & DifficultyWe've deepened the company type selection at the start of the game. With the difficulty structure we've added, we aim to offer players a different gameplay experience.Milestone System and RivalsThe game has an "Milestone" mechanic that lets you choose a permanent perk for your company as time passes and you progress. We've updated its requirements and the effects it brings. We've also made updates to how rivals behave. We'll keep developing this for a more challenging and realistic experience. We're now closer than ever to the game's demo v...

Development Update — v0.3.0: The State of LLM TycoonHey everyone! This is our first development update on Steam. LLM Tycoon is in active development, and version 0.3.0 is our biggest milestone yet — so it's a good moment to show you where the game stands today. What LLM Tycoon isYou start an AI company in a garage and race the world to AGI: train models, build datacenters, fab your own chips, poach talent, hack your rivals — and try to survive the consequences. Where the game is right now The core game is fully playable from garage startup to the superintelligence era: A living world — 61 playable countries and 102 cities, each with its own market, regulations and relationships. A global economy cycle swings between boom and recession, and dominating one market spills over into its neighbors. 15 rival AI companies — each with its own hidden ideology, reacting to your moves, launching their own models, and taunting you on Chirp, the in-game social feed. Deep company management — 5 C-level executives, research trees spanning 5 technological ages, chip foundries, datacenters, and a supply chain you can actually own. Espionage warfare — infiltrate rival companies through a terminal hacking sequence, steal their research, and build counter-espionage defenses when they come for you. Dominance Mode — a full victory system tracking your path to global AI supremacy across markets, research and influence. 7 languages — English, Turkish and 5 more, fully localized.
