About this game

The pumps are running dry, there's a queue at the register, the delivery truck just showed up, and your friend is somewhere behind the building doing something they'll explain later.

This is fine. This is the job.

Four People, One Station

Highway Station Sim is a first-person management sim you can run with up to four players. There's genuinely enough work for all of you — fuel, shelves, orders, the register — and genuinely no system stopping you from all doing the same one while everything else falls apart.

Drop in any time. The station keeps running whether you're there or not.

Everything By Hand

You carry the nozzle to the car and hold it while the tank fills. You haul the crates off the truck and stock the shelves one item at a time. You stand at the register and take the money.

None of it is hard. All of it takes time. That's the whole trick.

Then The Power Goes Out

It goes dark. The pumps stop. The queue doesn't.

Your generator burns the same fuel you were about to sell, so every minute the lights are on is money going the wrong way — and if the tanks run dry while it's running, you get to do the dark part again. Solar panels don't care about the grid, which is a lesson most players learn the expensive way.

Build The Place Up

More pumps. Bigger tanks. Charging bays for the electric cars. Every upgrade you buy physically appears out there on the forecourt, and more traffic follows it in.

You wanted a bigger station. Now you have a bigger station.

Bring friends. Or don't — but bring friends.

Solo Developer Looking for Beta Testers

I'm a solo developer, and Highway Station Sim has reached the point where it needs more than one person in the room.I'm looking for a small group of testers. Ideally 2-4 friends who already play together, since the game is built for four, but solo testers are welcome too. What I'm asking for: a session or two, and honesty afterwards. "I got bored twenty minutes in" is worth more to me than a bug list. If something breaks, just tell me what you were doing at the time.Interested? Come say hi on Discord: \Tell me roughly how many of you there are and when you tend to play.

Devlog #3 — The Station Is Getting Co-op

Hey everyone!Big one this time.**Highway Station Sim is becoming a four-player co-op game.**This is something I'd looked at before and backed away from, because I was worried about missing the release date. That pressure eased up, and once it did there wasn't really a good argument left against it. This game is a lot of small jobs happening at once — pumps, shelves, orders, the register — and that's exactly the shape of thing that gets better with other people in it.**What it looks like**Up to four of you run the same station. There's genuinely enough work to go around, and genuinely nothing stopping all four of you from doing the same job while everything else falls apart. Somebody can join whenever they want — you don't have to start over, the station just keeps running and they walk in.Everyone gets their own body, and there's a name tag over everyone else so you can tell who's who across the forecourt. Anybody can save the game to their own machine, so the station you played tonight isn't locked to whoever happened to be hosting.**Why this took a while**I want to be honest about the size of this, because "adding multiplayer" sounds like a feature and it really wasn't.The game was about 25,000 lines of code with exactly zero networking in it. Not "some networking that needed improving" — zero. Every number that matters, money, fuel, the clock, stock, the power grid, lived somewhere that only existed on one machine. If I'd just switched multiplayer on, the second player would have joined a station that was permanently stuck on day one with a full tank and $1,000, forever, no matter what the host did.So most of the game underneath got rewritten. All the shared state moved somewhere both machines can see. Every interaction — picking up the nozzle, stocking a shelf, taking payment — now gets checked by the host instead of just trusted. Every random roll in the game had to be moved to one machine and the result sent out, because otherwise two players slowly drift into...

Devlog #2 — When the Lights Go Out

Hey everyone!Following up on the electricity system from the last devlog — I've spent this week making it a lot meaner.Outages aren't random anymore. Once you're past the first few days, you can count on one hitting every day, and always while you're busy running the station. The generator is still your way out, but it's hungrier than before. It burns fuel straight out of your own tanks — the same fuel you were going to sell — and if you run dry while it's going, it shuts down and the station goes dark again. Keeping some fuel in reserve matters now.Charging electric cars costs you electricity too, so EV customers show up on your bill. Still profitable, just not free money anymore. And solar panels got a big buff — they produce three times as much as before, and they keep working during outages.More updates coming as development continues — wishlist the game to follow along!— Erdem

    Devlog #1 — Power & Electricity System

Hey everyone!I've been working on a new mechanic for Highway Station Sim: a full electricity system for the station.Your station consumes power throughout the day. At midnight, you get a bill based on how much you used. Solar panels can offset that cost — or even earn you money if you produce more than you consume. On top of that, random power outages can hit starting from Day 3. When they do, everything shuts down — pumps, registers, EV chargers. There's a generator out back you can fire up to keep things running, but it burns fuel, so it's not free either. That's about it for this one. More updates coming as development continues — wishlist the game to follow along!— Erdem
