About this game

Echoes of Mora VR brings the fantasy of diving into a mysterious underwater world to life. Move your own arms to swim through a flooded, abandoned village: glide over rooftops, slip through windows, and reach out to touch a world frozen in time. Your body is the controller.

Every corner of the sunken village rewards curiosity. Dive into flooded houses, search quiet streets, and find hidden objects and traces of the people who once lived here. The relaxed pace and natural swimming make Echoes of Mora VR a comfortable VR experience. No rush, no pressure, just you and the deep.

Hidden in the depths lie Echoes: portals into the days before the flood. Each one is sealed, its fragments waiting to be found in secret corners or behind small puzzles. Unlock them, step through, and stand in the village as it once was, with dry land under your feet and voices in the streets. There you'll meet Mora, a girl searching for her missing brother. She is the only one who can see you. Share what you found in the deep, guide her search, and see where her story leads.

Echoes of Mora VR supports all PC-based VR headsets and comes with a full non-VR mode. Headset battery running low, or just want to keep playing on the couch? Switch to flatscreen through the ingame menu and continue right where you left off, no restart needed.

  • Natural arm-based swimming via motion tracking lets you swim, climb, and explore with your whole body (optional joystick locomotion available)

  • A hauntingly beautiful sunken village full of hidden objects and secret places

  • Unlock Echoes to step into the past and experience the village before the flood

  • Meet Mora in the past and help her search for her missing brother, sharing discoveries that guide her along the way

  • Listen in on hidden Traces and get to know the people of the village

  • Relaxed, comfort-friendly VR exploration without time pressure

  • Works with all VR headsets supporting PC VR, and includes a full non-VR mode with seamless switching

Echoes of Mora VR is OUT NOW! 🌊

Hey everyone! 👋Echoes of Mora VR is OUT!After over three years of development, we still can't quite believe we're writing that sentence 🥹🛒 Two versions for sale, so please pick the right oneEchoes of Mora VR: the PC VR version (which also includes an optional PC flatscreen mode you can switch to at any time)Echoes of Mora: the PC version, playable with mouse and keyboard or controller (no VR headset needed)If you don't own a headset, please buy the PC version. And if you want to play in VR, please buy the VR version! The VR version costs a little more than the PC one, because it contains both modes instead of one.🧭 What to expectEchoes of Mora VR is a slow-paced story game, around 2-3 hours long. You swim with your own arms through a flooded Italian village, open portals into the days before the water came, and help Mora find out what happened to her brother. What you'll find:One dense, hand-built village to explore at your own paceNatural arm-based swimming, with optional joystick locomotionA full PC mode you can switch to at any time from the in-game menuGentle puzzles throughout the worldEchoes: portals into the past that show the village before the floodTraces: optional audio scenes scattered around the village that tell you more about the people who lived hereDialogue choices with Mora that change her answers and the order some scenes play out inTwo endings, depending on one final choiceFull English voice acting, with text in 11 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese and JapaneseWhat you won't find:No combat, no enemies, no survival or crafting, no fail statesNo time pressure, no jump scaresNo difficult puzzles, so you won’t get stuck for longOne handcrafted place rather than a large open worldNo endless content, so when the story ends, it endsThat's the game. Final Demo Update before Launch, new Steam page + where we've been 👀🐟

Hey everyone! 👋It's been very quiet here for a while and we're sorry about that! So before we get to the patch notes, we owe you an explanation (and we have some news about how the game will release).📻 Where we've beenAt the end of April, we received a publisher offer. For a team our size that's a pretty big deal, and it's why we pushed the release date back. We wanted to give the process the room it needed. (We're also just three people, all writing our master's thesis right now, so a lot landed on us at once.) That's the reason for the radio silence, not a lack of progress.Sadly, and quite unexpectedly, the publisher deal fell through in the end.But we're not letting it stop us! After a few intense weeks, we can finally say it:Echoes of Mora releases at the end of September 2026Honestly, the extra months gave us something too. We used them to build and polish the parts of the game that mattered most (there's a whole village with houses to explore now), and what releases in September is far more than we would have shipped back in April.🖥️🥽 One game, two versionsEchoes of Mora is an unusual product. It's a flatscreen game and a VR game, and we built both properly instead of bolting one onto the other. Communicating that matters a lot to us, so we decided to split the two versions into two separate products:Echoes of Mora: the PC version, playable with mouse and keyboard or controller, no headset requiredEchoes of Mora VR: the VR version, which also includes an optional PC mode you can switch at any timeTwo store pages, because most of you already know which one you want. A single page would mean every screenshot, every system requirement, and every review would be half about an experience you're not looking for. Separate pages let us be precise about what you're actually getting. You're on the VR page right now 🥽...and you're in the right place if you want to play in a headset. This page also covers the optional PC mode, so wishlist right here and play the demo in VR...
