About this game

20+ card games. One world.

Atout brings the greatest card games together in a single app with pixel-art charm: from family classics to demanding trick-taking games, from relaxing solitaires to capture games from around the world. Everything runs on the same polished engine,
with official rules and opponents that genuinely play.

A collection that never runs dry.

23 games and 24 variants thanks to alternate rules:

  • Trick-taking — French Tarot, Belote (+ Contrée), Hearts, President, Big Two

  • Melds & rummy — Rummy, Gin Rummy

  • Modern party games — Flux, Crazy Eights, Shithead, Sheeplosion!

  • Poker & casino — Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Blackjack (+ Side Bets)

  • Solitaires — Klondike, FreeCell, Spider

  • From around the world — Scopa (Italian), Hanafuda Koi-Koi, Korean Go-Stop, Japanese Hachi-Hachi

  • For the family — 1K - The Race, Happy Families, Golf

  • And one fully original game — Ascension

Every game brings its variants: draw-three Solitaire, Daifugō for President, Oklahoma for Gin, four-player Scopone, Macau for Crazy Eights, Blackjack side bets… 47 ways to play, and plenty to rediscover in rules you thought you knew.

The opponents

  • 3 difficulty levels — from a relaxed game to a real challenge.

  • Advanced intelligence — on the hardest setting, the AI truly searches ahead (tree search) across nearly every game. It never peeks at your hand: it just plays better.

Solo or together

  • Single-player — one player versus the computer, with games resumed right where you left off.

  • Local & online multiplayer — games on your local network are found automatically, with no IP address to type; online, share a game code or browse the lobby to create and join games.

Built to last

  • Six languages — EN / FR / ES / Portuguese (Brazil) / Simplified Chinese / Russian. AI-translated, everything included: menus, rules and the card encyclopedia. Spotted an awkward line? Tell us and it gets fixed.

  • Meta-progression — per-game stats, best scores, and 76 local achievements to unlock.

  • Customizable color themes and a dedicated mood for each game.

  • Classic or alternate (high-contrast) decks

  • Controls: mouse / touch / gamepads, your choice.

  • Vibrant atmosphere: the table's lighting follows the current time of day, and the sky behind the board mirrors the real weather where you are — sun, clouds, rain, storm, snow or fog. Both can be set by hand or turned off.

Your classics, just like home

Atout is the box of card games you pull out whenever you want — no rulebook to dig up, no missing cards, and always someone ready for a round.

Atout 0.16.9 — A coach, and smoother games

This is a big one. We spent the last two weeks making every game feel smoother, fairer and easier to learn. Here's what changed. ♠️ Blackjack is now a real table You're no longer alone against the dealer. Up to five players sit at the table, and the dealer hands out the cards from their own seat. Be the first to reach 2,000 chips to win. Run out of chips and you're out, but the others keep playing. And yes: you can now play Blackjack online with friends. 🃏 Meet Cardy, your coach New to FLUX? Cardy sits in the corner of the table for your first few games. It tells you what you can do on your turn, makes the cards you can play float up, and if you try a card that isn't allowed, it tells you why. Want to know what a card does? Just hover it. You can turn Cardy off, or keep it on all the time, in the settings. ✨ Games that feel better Your turn ends on its own when there's nothing left for you to do. It never decides for you, and it never skips your "FLUX!" call. Cards cast shadows as they fly across the table. The computer players wait for animations to finish before playing. Drag a card and let go: it now flies from where you dropped it. Dealing looks right: cards come from the deck on the table, one player at a time. Bigger cards in the middle of the table for trick-taking games like President, Tarot and Queen of Spades. Choose who to attack by their face: your opponents come forward so you can pick one. 🎮 Great with a controller (and on Steam Deck) Every action you can take now has its own button, and every button can be reached with a controller. When you point at a card, the buttons show what you can do with it. Tarot bids can finally be placed with a controller too. We also fixed the left trigger sorting your hand several times with a single press. 🎲 Game by game 🏎️ 1K - The Race Each player's area now looks like a little race track, with a tiny car that drives around as you add kilometers. Attacks land on your opponent's track with a big hit, and stay there unti...

Atout is coming to mobile — the Android and iOS beta is open

Atout now runs on phones and tablets. The new Godot client isn't only for the desktop. The same 23 games, the same rules and the same opponents now run on Android and iOS. Both store versions are in testing right now — if you'd like to try one, say so and I'll add you to the beta. One feature built for the phone: the zoom slider Small screens make small cards. So there's a discreet rail sitting under your thumb: drag it up and the table grows, drag it down and your hand does. Let go, and everything springs back. It's a magnifier, not a mode — nothing stays zoomed, and nothing is left broken when the turn changes. While you hold it, sliding sideways pans across a wide board or a long hand — and you can still play a card with your other thumb, because it's your real table being magnified, not a picture of it. The rail sits on the right by default, and moves to the left for left-handers. It's held with the thumb, so it follows the hand that holds the device. It appears on its own on small screens, and can be forced on or off in the settings. And on PC? Nothing is taken away. The slider stays off on the desktop, where you have the room — but you can switch it on if you play on a touchscreen or a handheld. Interested in the beta? Leave a message in the Steam discussions. Good game.

Atout has a new engine — and a new game to go with it

Atout has a new engine. Atout is now a native application, built with Godot. Same games, same rules, same opponents — but a single version to keep honest everywhere. No system component to install on Windows any more. It just starts. One and the same application on Windows, Linux and macOS. Gamepad navigation now covers the whole game, menus included. Steam Deck verification is under way. Six languages Atout plays in French, English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. Not just the menus: every game's rules, the Cardopedia, the achievements, the hand names, right down to the message telling you a move isn't legal. The translation has been done with generative IA so it may contains error. A language only appears in the selector once it's complete — we'd rather not offer it at all than drop you into English halfway through a sentence. A twenty-third game Big Two (Chor Dai Di) joins the collection: the great Chinese climbing game, where you shed your hand by outbidding — card by card, pair by pair, straight flush by straight flush. And four new ways to play what was already there:FLUX All Wild! — 112 cards, every one a wild. No colour left to match, nothing but effects. FLUX Teams 2v2 — four players, two sides, partners sitting opposite. Spider, 1 suit and 4 suits — the game's real difficulty setting, finally selectable. That makes 23 games and 47 ways to play them. Warm atmosphere - The time of day, and the weatherDaylight — the table is lit by the hour where you are: low and orange at sunset, blue at night. Adjustable by hand, or off entirely. Ambient weather — rain or snow over the felt, if you're in the mood. Daily deal — the same deal for everyone, all day long. Work in progress Around the table🃏 Cardopedia — eleven decks, explained: where they come from, what each figure means. 📖 Rules — every game's rules, readable from the menu, in your language. 🏅 76 achievements and per-game 📊 statistics: games played, wins, records. Game log — who p...

The Atout Playtest is open — play all 20+ games right now

The Playtest is open. You can play Atout right now, for free, ahead of the September 30 release. All 22 games and their 40 variants are in — nothing is locked. How to get in Go to the Atout store page. Click "Request Access" in the Playtest box. Access is granted automatically: Atout Playtest shows up in your library. Available on Windows, Linux and macOS. Where your feedback matters most Rules — a move rejected when it should be legal, a score that doesn't add up, a round that won't end: that's exactly what we're hunting. The AI — too easy, too slow, too perfect? Tell us which game and which level. Multiplayer — local and online, with the game code. Disconnections and rejoining are especially useful reports. Layout — on small screens and narrow windows, tell us if a button or a card falls off the board. Your favourites — the games you keep coming back to, and the ones missing from the collection. Good to know Controller: gamepad navigation is still in progress. For now, keyboard + mouse. Online multiplayer: games run through our own server. If a room refuses to start, telling us roughly when it happened really helps. Windows: Atout relies on WebView2, preinstalled on Windows 11 and most Windows 10 machines. If it's missing, Windows Update or Microsoft's free installer fixes it. How to reach us Easiest: the game's Steam discussions. By email: degenerated.games@gmail.com. If a game locks up on you, the ☰ menu has a 🐛 button that copies the game state — paste it into your message, it's worth ten screenshots. Thanks for testing. Every Playtest report goes straight into the release build.
