About this game
'Don't Sleep With The Fishes' is a point-and-click survival horror game focused on rapid salvaging, resource management, and surviving day by day at sea featuring:
Randomized scavenging and events.
3 Different shipmates to take with you and talk to.
A cozy and creepy atmosphere that alternates between day and night. (This game contains Jumpscares!)

How To Play:
You’re the captain of a ship on a covert delivery mission with a small crew. Without warning, something strikes the vessel, causing severe damage. You wait for the emergency horns. When they sound, you know you need to evacuate immediately.
Time is running out! Gather whatever you can and toss it into your lifeboat, before the ship sinks. Every item counts! Escape by staying near the boat at the end! However, it can only carry one more person besides you.
Use the daytime to spend your energy on fishing, eating, doing small tasks, or chatting to your shipmate (if you brought one). When you run out of energy, end the day and try to sleep hoping nothing disrupts your rest.
If your night does get interrupted, use an item you brought to handle the situation. If you have no answer, you can try going back to sleep. Sometimes, that’s your only option.
Your adventure could end in many ways. In some, you will survive. In most, you won't.

50,000 Copies Sold! (+ Small Game Fixes)
Greetings, shipmates! 🎣Don't Sleep With The Fishes has sold 50,000 copies! Thank you everyone playing, sharing and having fun with the game.I made a patch (v1.1.4.4) to fix small issues the game had, including:Bugfixes. ("Junker" missing Journal entry, Getting two Swimbelts from the drifting crate, etc.)True Ending will now remain available to reach if you've seen the Kraken before in the same run. You should be able to collect the Heart parts after the encounter and get the ending, too.Scuba Gear: Initial breaking chance decreased by 10%, saving +1 Energy after use increased by 8%."Eating your Shipmate" Night event chance increased.Typo fixes.Note: You can switch to Windowed mode using Alt+Enter (or by your OS dedicated shortcut!)With that said, game updates will likely slow down, as other events in my personal life have taken priority and my projects are made alongside a full-time job. However I feel satisfied with the amount of content the game currently offers for its price.I’m also looking forward to working on new projects, so Don't Sleep With The Fishes is expected to receive only one or two larger updates in the future, as my time allows. (I have seen your comments, if I finish a new bigger update, it will include new endings!) Itch.io buyers will also still keep getting the updates when they happen.Thank you for understanding!DopplerGhost Here is some fanart from you guys!Read full article on Community Announcements (DopplerGhost)Patch NotesOfficial

Version 1.1.4
Ahoy, shipmates!🌴Version 1.1.4 is out now, bringing some small changes to the game to spice things up.News:- 3 New Night Events added. 1) Friend Found: When leaving the ship alone, you may come across one of your shipmates at random. Save them! 2) Junker: A weird-looking creature is interested in your box of junk, approaches you with an offer. 3) Hunger: When waking up at night while starving and without any food, you may want to find something else to eat...- Frederik's Special Ability has changed. From: Bait guarantees a catch today. To: Bait won't be consumed when catching fish today. + Fishing with Bait is now optional, as you can click it to turn it off, keeping your bait.- New Food: Coconut. (May be found at Night if you decide to visit the Small Island yourself.) The Coconut restores a large amount of Hunger, and a small amount of Health, but costs 1 Energy to eat.- New option to eat: Junk can now be eaten if you are starving. This is a risky option meant to be used as a last resort. The more junk you eat, the more likely you are to get sick.- Sickness: Some specific events trigger sickness, making you unable to eat for 1–3 days. You can get sick from eating Junk, or through two different Night Events. Can be cured with First Aid Kits.Airplane and Cargo Ship Ending tweaks:After encountering either of these events for the first time, using the correct item will trigger a Day timer that, once it expires, the rescue variant of the event is guaranteed to occur the next night, instead of always rolling a die every night. The Flare Gun will make the rescue faster and take fewer days than the Flashlight. (The original chance-based triggers can still rescue you sooner if you're lucky.)If the Flashlight fails, now instead of completely locking you out of the event, you may get a chance for rescue later, but you will need to survive for longer in order to do so.Adjusted the chances and repetition rate of these events.Settings and Fixes:- Added an option to invert the Y...Read full article on Community Announcements (DopplerGhost)AnnouncementsOfficial
Thank You! (+Game News)
Heyho, Shipmates! ⚓'Don't Sleep With The Fishes' has sold more than 20,000 copies!I am sincerely grateful for this milestone, a number I could never have predicted before launching the Steam version of the game. Thanks to your incredible support, I was able to get Steam Trading Cards approved, and you can start collecting them today! Regarding Future UpdatesI believe the game is in a very satisfying place right now, but I want to release Version 1.1.4 to add some meaningful, highly requested additions and changes.I’ve read ALL your reviews, so I have a great starting ground! What’s Coming in Update 1.1.4:RNG Tweaks: Adjustments to the RNG to give you a bit more control over reaching "Saved" endings, rather than relying too much on luck.Resource Options: Extra choices and ways to gather food.Encounters: A few more Night Events to mix things up.Quality of Life Settings: Inverted Mouse Y-axis, an option to disable head-bob.Community Choice & Extra Content:If the game were to receive a major content update in the future, which of these would you want to see most?More endings (Each shipmate could have an ending or grant new ways to achieve existing ones).OR New gameplay modes (e.g., an Endless Survival Mode where you just try to stay alive as long as possible, maybe with extra challenges).Thank you all again so much for playing the game, sharing screenshots (yes, I saw the drawings on the papers...!), and just having fun.See you again soon!- Taiki (DopplerGhost)Read full article on Community Announcements (DopplerGhost)AnnouncementsOfficial
Don't Sleep With The Fishes has Launched!
Hello shipmates! 🦀Don't Sleep With The Fishes is now available on Steam!Thank you, everyone, for wishlisting the game.We launched at around ~48,000 wishlists! This is a number I never could have expected, and I'm very grateful for the interest in the game's Steam version. With that said, the game's launch version will be 1.1.3, which updates the base game with some small tweaks and fixes. Tweaks:Junk fishing on days after Day 30 will now increase less rapidly, with Bait remaining at its default effectiveness until Day 60.Increased First Aid Kit healing effectiveness. (50% to 70%)When Shipmates are Hungry or Sick enough, they will have a small visual change on their character textures.New:Fast-Forward in Settings: Enabling this will allow you to hold the 'F' key to fast-forward time during the beginning animations of Night Events. (Recommended for people who have played the game a few times already and do not want to wait out the animations before making an Item choice.)The 'Small Island' night event will now have an option that allows you to send your shipmate instead of yourself! (If you brought one).Fixes:Frederik no longer smokes the air when his pipe has already been stolen.Other small bug fixes.Typo/grammar fixes. I wish you all luck on the open sea!- Taiki (DopplerGhost)Read full article on Community Announcements (DopplerGhost)
