About this game
PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING
This game contains visual effects that may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.
LIKE A SPARK AGAINST THE NIGHT
Reignite humanity's future in a fight against an overwhelming force in this physics-based survivors-like set in a militaristic, grounded sci-fi universe. There will be moments of triumph as you move down enemy lines with your superior firepower and moments of chaotic escape as the only thing that matters is to survive.
RELY ON AUTOMATED SYSTEMS OR TAKE DIRECT CONTROL
Let your crew engage targets as they see fit or switch to manual Fire Control System and unleash a focused barrage. Designate individual high-priority targets with your mouse.
If controlling the ship gets tough enable Flight Assist and steer toward the cursor. Keep direct control for maximum responsiveness or use both as needed.
THERE'S NO SPEED LIMITS IN SPACE
Tired of arbitrary speed limits in space? Starships behaving like atmospheric fighter jets? Inertia that barely exists? You’ll find none of that here. Engage in slower and intense combat or go as fast as you can until an asteroid stops you.
YOUR SHIP, NEWTON'S LAWS
The Finest Spark is built around approachable physics-based, momentum-driven gameplay where inertia matters and collisions might be fatal. Navigate tight spaces, evade incoming threats and use physics to your advantage. Remember: bigger, denser objects always have the right of way.
CREW IS THE LIMIT
At the core of every ship stands its crew — well-trained and hardened but still nearly hopeless against their oldest adversary: G-loads. Push your ship too far for too long, and the mission may end early. On the bright side, as your crew ranks up, they'll handle G-loads a little better while you gain higher chances of coming across more advanced weapons and ship upgrades.
EVERY END IS A NEW BEGINNING
Destroy enemies, collect EXPARTS, and hold out as long as possible. Every mission advances both your crew rank and permanent ship upgrades. Defeat is nothing more than a step toward commanding an increasingly powerful space beast.
Do you have what it takes to survive the [REDACTED] swarm?
See you out there, Captain.

Update v.0.16.260820.1
Greetings, Captains! It's time for the first actual update, some things that you asked for, some that you did not (he-he). Current HUD with all the elements active for reference. So let's dive in — first changes to the Main Thrust control (e. g. W and S keys): - thrust level no longer progresses linearly, instead it rises faster when low but slower when high. When reducing thrust it goes down faster when high and slower when low. It should allow for better responsiveness and feel- total time to reduce thrust from 100-0 is slightly lower than increasing it from 0-100, again improving handling especially in high G moments- each ship now has it's own multiplier of how fast Main Thrust can be increased or reduced, with smaller ships being more responsive Reverse Thrust auto and additional triggers: - double pressing reduce Main Thrust (e.g. S key) will now additionally fire reverse thrusters- when Main Thrust is at minimum holding reduce key (e.g. S) will fire reverse thrusters.- when reduce Main Thrust (e.g. S key) is being pressed down during emergency G-force conditions reverse thrusters will also automatically fire Emergency G-force conditions:- emergency state can no longer be exploited by going in and off and resetting it's timer. It now uses it's own... let's call it stamina — that depletes quickly before engaging emergency jump and regenerates in lower G conditions. Give your crews some rest!- it is shown as the bar on the HUD just under the text warningFeel free to lemme know if you like this change. Technically emergency G moment was supposed to be but now with visible indicator it kind of can be pushed to it's limits. Still I think it strikes balance between realistic approach and playability. Ship auto repair:- auto repair speed now scales with G conditions. The higher the G the slower the repair speed. In turn it is now fairly boosted at low G- repair speed upgrade during mission is now based both on flat value and percent of ship max durability,- all ships...Read full article on Community Announcements (CrossheartTFS)Patch NotesOfficial

A bunch of random fixes: - added another experimental patch for UI scaling issue at higher resolutions (4K), affecting mostly in-game (during map) UI - entering upgrade selection now pauses the game instead of heavily slowing it down - added "mps" to speed indicator - fixed some other smaller UI issuesRead full article on Community Announcements (CrossheartTFS)Patch NotesOfficial

Small Update v.0.15.260816.1
When at very low rotation speeds ships will now smoothly stabilize it's rotation to zero, allowing for a true straight flight when needed (STAB displayed at the bottom of the screen when it kicks in).Read full article on Community Announcements (CrossheartTFS)Patch NotesOfficial
Small Update v.0.15.260814.5 | UI Scaling
(experimental) Potentially fixed UI scaling on higher resolutions. If anyone with a 4K monitor could confirm that the UI looks similar to the trailer/screenshots I’d be grateful! Adjusted enemy spawns during the first minute of the game. First enemies can still get delayed while trying not to crash into some asteroid but they should generally appear faster. As always - fly safe o7Read full article on Community Announcements (TFS)
