About this game
PAGANS is a fast-paced strategy card game set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Slavic mythology. Build a deck of mythic beings, cursed powers, warriors, and spirits, then take it into short tactical battles where every card play can change the outcome.
Each battle is fought over mystical locations with unique effects. You must decide where to commit your strongest cards, when to hold back, and how to use synergies between units, spells, and location effects to overcome your opponent.
Battles are designed to be quick, readable, and strategic. Instead of long matches, PAGANS focuses on tense decisions, explosive card combinations, and adapting your plan as new threats and opportunities appear.
Features include:
- Tactical PvE card battles against challenging opponents
- Deckbuilding focused on synergies, timing, and location control
- Cards inspired by Slavic folklore, pagan myth, spirits, curses, and dark fantasy
- Mystical locations that change how each battle plays out
- Short matches built around meaningful decisions rather than long grind
- A growing collection of cards to experiment with and combine
- Atmospheric fantasy presentation with a grim mythological tone
Whether you win through raw power, clever timing, sacrifice effects, control tools, or unexpected combinations, PAGANS rewards careful planning and bold plays.

New card in the making: Wall of Bodies
Fallen comrades, stacked into a barricade. That is the idea behind Wall of Bodies, a new Spartan card coming to Pagans. At 3 cost and 4 power, it looks like a solid midrange body. The real bite is the ongoing effect: once it hits a location, that lane locks. No more cards can be played there. Nothing can move in either. You plant it, and the pass is closed. It is a denial tool with teeth. Slam it onto a contested lane after you have already won the fight, or drop it early to force your opponent into the other two locations. Either way, someone has to play around a wall made of the dead.More soon as we keep building out the Spartan roster.Read full article on Community Announcements (zenmode.dev)AnnouncementsOfficial
Spartans are coming! (soon)
Most Spartan cards carry the Fated tag.Fated: this card dies when its Power reaches 0 or below. That sounds like a downside. For Sparta, it is the point.Power is not a soft score. When you chip an enemy to nothing, they leave the location. When your own cheap soldiers get drained, sold, or ordered into the spears, they leave too. Death is not flavor text. It is a resource. How Sparta wants to be playedForget spreading thin across every lane. Sparta is a tall, concentrated force. You pick one or two locations and commit. The third location can go cold. Your early plays are often expendable: low-cost bodies that hold a slot, prop up a Phalanx, or wait for someone who needs a life to spend. Midgame cards turn those bodies into power. Late cards cash the graveyard.A good Spartan turn looks like this:Drop cheap Fated allies early so the lane has meat.Soften the opposing line with On Reveal debuffs until weak cards hit 0 and die.Spend your own men when a sacrifice enabler asks for blood.Park payoffs where the dying happens, so every loss makes the survivors heavier.Close with a big Fated finisher on a lane you already decided to own.You are not trying to outnumber the board. You are trying to out-quality it. Fewer cards. Higher power. A lane that looks empty after the sacrifice and still wins the count. The sacrifice fantasySome Spartan cards do not wait for the enemy to kill your men. They order it.Destroy an ally. Take their power. Buff the rest of the line. Or sit as a queen who grows every time a shield-brother falls beside her. The fantasy is brutal and deliberate: the Agoge teaches that a life spent well is worth more than a life hoarded. That pairs cleanly with Fated. When Power hits zero, the card is gone. When a sacrifice effect destroys an ally, the card is gone. Either way, death triggers the same payoffs. Gorgo-style cards, ghost-memory finishers, and kill-and-grow heroes all feed on that ledger. If you play Sparta like a normal midrange pile, you will feel stiff. ...Read full article on Community Announcements (zenmode.dev)AnnouncementsOfficial
Something Is Listening in The Whispering Hut
Some curses do not need to last.Soon, Whisperer will join the Slavic collection. This 2-Cost, 2-Power Creature brings more than its own strength to the board. When Whisperer is revealed, it replaces its location with The Whispering Hut. The Whispering Hut is not part of the usual location rotation. Whisperer is the only way to bring it into a match.Once the Hut appears, its effect remains in play. After each turn, it cleanses negative Power changes from every card at that location. That means the Hut can restore cards weakened by negative Power effects. It applies to both sides of the board, so placement matters. Choose the location carefully, weigh the cards already there, and decide whether the Hut protects your plan or gives your opponent the same relief.Whisperer and The Whispering Hut turn one reveal into a lasting change to the battlefield. A curse may reach the hut, but it will not survive until dawn.Read full article on Community Announcements (zenmode.dev)
