A cozy desktop train that runs on your keystrokes. The more you type, the farther your hand-drawn locomotive rolls along the bottom of your screen — sell the haul, buy bigger engines and longer trains, and grow a railroad empire while you work. Counts keystrokes only, never what you type.

About this game
All aboard your keyboard.
Keypress Express is a cozy desktop companion where your everyday typing powers a hand-drawn train across the countryside. Whether you are working, writing, coding, or chatting, every keystroke helps your locomotive travel a little faster.
Your train lives in a slim overlay at the bottom of your screen, quietly rolling alongside your day without stealing focus. There is no separate game window to babysit and no pressure to keep typing. Even when you take a break, your train continues steadily toward its destination.
Turn typing into travel
Your keyboard is the throttle. Typing accelerates your train up to the speed its engine can handle, while lighter days become slower, more leisurely journeys.
Send your train on a trip, get back to whatever you were doing, and glance down occasionally to watch it pass through rolling hills, farms, forests, wildflower fields, and small country stations.
Build your perfect train
Collect a growing roster of lovingly hand-drawn locomotives and rolling stock. Combine engines with coal hoppers, oil tankers, log cars, passenger coaches, livestock cars, and more.
Every engine has its own balance of speed and hauling capacity. Start with a modest locomotive and a single car, then work your way toward faster engines and long, impressive consists stretching across your desktop.
Plan profitable routes
Each town produces different goods, and every market values cargo differently. Load up where supplies are plentiful, deliver them where demand is high, and plan routes that keep every leg of the journey profitable.
The right destination can turn an ordinary shipment into a valuable haul—but repeatedly flooding the same market will reduce its value. Expand your railway, explore new destinations, and build a trade network that crosses the country.
Grow your railway empire
Complete trips, sell cargo, and reinvest your earnings in:
• New steam engines
• More cargo and passenger cars
• Longer, higher-capacity trains
• Station upgrades
• New routes and destinations
Progress at the pace of your own workday. A busy afternoon might send your train racing across the map, while a quiet day becomes a peaceful journey through the countryside.
A companion, not a distraction
Keypress Express is designed to remain ambient and unobtrusive. It fades out of the way when you move your mouse over it and can be hidden whenever you need a completely clear desktop.
There are no timers demanding your attention, no punishments for stepping away, and no window constantly fighting for focus. Just the quiet satisfaction of watching your railway grow alongside the work you were already doing.
Private by design
Keypress Express counts how many keys you press—never which keys you press.
Your words are never read or recorded. The game does not collect the contents of anything you type.
Free to play
Every destination, engine, and part of the core progression can be unlocked through play. Optional purchases can accelerate upgrades, but they are never required to build your railway empire.

The menu comes back!
The menu comes back Fixed Windows virtual desktops: the menu now follows you to whichever desktop you're on. Previously it stayed behind on the desktop the game launched from — the train strip followed you, the menu didn't, so opening it did nothing you could see. Minimized menu: minimizing the menu and then closing it no longer leaves it stuck out of reach for the rest of the session. It now restores properly. Off-screen menu: a menu left past the edge of a screen — or on a monitor that's since been unplugged — now re-centres itself somewhere you can actually see it. Deliberately placed menus stay where you put them.Read full article on Community Announcements (nitzangamesLLC)Patch NotesOfficial

New update
Arrivals you can't miss Your train used to arrive in complete silence. If you were working in another window — which is rather the point of the game — nothing told you the trip was done, and the fare just sat there uncollected. A COLLECT banner now appears on the strip when your train pulls in, showing the destination and what the run earned. Click it to open your ticket. The game nudges you when a train arrives, so you can go back to whatever you were actually doing until it does. Opening the menu with a fare waiting takes you straight to the ticket instead of wherever you happened to leave it. Learning how you get paid A completed journey pays nothing until you collect the fare, and the game never actually said so. New drivers now get told, once, on their first arrival. "Engines for sale" no longer sits there empty Each town sells its own small range of locomotives, and once you owned all of them that section simply went blank — with no explanation, forever. It looked broken. It wasn't, but you had no way to know that. The shop now tells you when you own everything the town sells, and names the towns that still have engines you don't own. The Restock button has moved to the "Cars for sale" heading and been relabelled. It only ever affected the car lineup — never engines — so it no longer sits above the engine list implying otherwise. Thanks to to.koryo for reporting the empty shop, and to Waldi for the locomotive achievement thread that started it. Fixes Fixed a bug where quitting partway through the tutorial could permanently disable it, leaving new drivers with no guidance and no way to get it back. The arrival notice pointed at the wrong screen. It now points at the Trip tab, where your ticket actually is.Read full article on Community Announcements (nitzangamesLLC)Patch NotesOfficial
