About this game
A valley you can walk into
Hearthfield is a farming and small-town life sim set in one continuous valley. There are noloading screens between your farm and the town, and no separate map hiding behind a doorway.
You walk up to a building, the door opens, the roof lifts away, and you are inside. The shops
have back rooms. The people who run them live upstairs.
A town that keeps its own hours
The villagers are not waiting where you left them. They walk real paths to real places, opentheir shops in the morning and shut them at night, and have something to say about wherever
you happen to catch them. Spend time with them and they warm to you.
Work the land
Lay out raised beds where you want them, then plant, water and harvest through the seasons.Fell trees, cut grass, and take what the valley offers. Craft at a workbench, sell what you
don't need, and pick up work from the quest board. Rain waters your crops for you, and you
will have known it was coming, because the forecast told you the day before.
Bring up to three friends
Play on your own or with up to three others. Join with a code, or straight from your Steamfriends list. One valley, one shared day, and chat while you work.
Where it's headed
Hearthfield is being built in the open and there is a lot still to come. Animals, fishing, mining, festivals, romance, and the one we care about most: a cooking economy where the
kitchen is how you get rich, rather than dumping raw crops on a merchant. There's a public
roadmap and a post about it every month.
An honest word about how early this is
This is a young game. It was rebuilt from the ground up in 3D and there are still placeholdersstanding in it, the characters most of all. If you would rather come back when it's further
along, that's completely fair. If you'd like to watch it grow and tell us what it needs,
there has never been a better time.
Wishlist Hearthfield and we'll see you in the valley.

We rebuilt Hearthfield in 3D 🌾 (August roadmap)
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46158334/072d99b4f9bfedab78df99997946ff57d1b24874.png Hey friends. 🌾 We've got big news this month, and we'd rather just say it straight. Hearthfield has been rebuilt from the ground up in 3D. If you read July's post, you saw a long list of things that were finished and playable. That list was real. But it was a 2D top-down game, and the further we got, the more we could feel where it stopped. That wasn't going to be our limit. It was going to be yours. The valley we kept describing to each other was never one you could look across, or walk down into, or stand inside. So we started again, properly, in 3D. We're not one person any more The other half of the news: three people joined us. A graphics designer, a writer for the dialogue and story, and a 3D developer. Hearthfield has been a solo project its whole life. It isn't one now, and that's the thing that turned a rebuild this size from something we'd wish for into something we could actually take on. What's already standing More than we expected, honestly. One month in, the 3D build already has: A hand-sculpted terraced valley, with cliffs, banks, a coast, a river, waterfalls, and a working railway running through it A town that's one continuous place, and buildings you walk into. No loading screen, no separate interior map. The roof lifts as you step through the door Villagers on daily schedules who walk real paths to real places, keep shop hours, and live in the rooms above their own shops A day/night cycle and weather. Rain, storms and snow, rolled a day ahead as a forecast Farming, gathering, crafting, shops, skills and a quest board Online co-op for four. Join by code, or straight from your Steam friends list, with in-game chat What's coming back Fishing. Mining. Animals. Festivals. Romance. Cooking. Item quality tiers. The character creator. Controller support. All of it was finished in the 2D build, and none of it is cancelled. The designs, the data and the rules all came with us. They're...Read full article on Community Announcements (TheCandyMan)AnnouncementsOfficial
Where Hearthfield is headed 🌾 (July roadmap)
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46158334/7ea801bdad50c915038bf6bd4961f8ee305f6d57.png Hey friends — welcome to the first monthly Hearthfield roadmap. 🌾 Hearthfield is a cozy farming & small-town life sim, built (slowly, lovingly) by one person. The whole core loop is already playable: farm through four seasons and real weather, fish and mine and forage, cook and craft, and get to know a town of villagers who keep their own schedules — together, in up to four-player online co-op. The image above is where things stand and what I'm reaching for next. Dev is fluid — I add as I have time — so "on the horizon" is a direction, not a promise. 🔨 Working on right now Barns & bigger animals — build from a kit; cows join the chickens Romance — dating & marriage for the eight romanceable villagers Polish — smoothing co-op & controller play from playtest feedback 🌱 Next up Quests & a light main story A proper audio pass — the honest next big gap A gentler intro & first day One of these a month. Thanks for being here early — it genuinely keeps me going. See you in August. 🌻 Wishlist Hearthfield to catch the next update.Read full article on Community Announcements (TheCandyMan)
